Rating: Summary: thought-provoking Christian romance Review: When Jessica moves to the small town of Glenbrooke, it is obvious that she is hiding something. She changes her name, doesn't have identification, and won't discuss her background with anyone. Kyle and Teri, Jessica's new friends, are Christians, and Jessica has never been around Christians before. She does not understand what they mean when they talk about surrendering her entire life to God, and she continues to keep secrets from them, even though Kyle warns her that secrets get heavier and heavier the longer that you carry them. After a frightening night lost in a foreign country in a rainstorm, Jessica finally begins to understand what Kyle has told her. Anxious to finally begin sharing a part of herself with Kyle, Jessica is shocked to find out that he, too, has been harboring a secret for many years. Can Kyle and Jessica be honest with each other and their friends? Will they both finally totally surrender all parts of their lives to God? Secrets is a great Christian romance that will make you think about letting God in every part of your life.
Rating: Summary: Another Great Series from Robin Jones Gunn! Review: Wow, a small town in Oregon, called Glenbrooke. A town where people are kind to one another. Where people help one another. Where a daughter of a multi-millionare runs away too. Jessica who is the daughter of a mutli-millinare from California runs away from home. No she wasn't a teenager. Yet she was a young adult of about the age of 23 turning 24. She runs away from the day before her 24th birthday. The day when she will be given the title Vice-President of her father's prosperous, wealthy business. With her mother dead and just her father alive she feels trapped in her father's business and wants out. The place she runs to is Glenbrooke Oregon. There she meets a whole life that she's always wished of. There she also meets Kyle Buchanan, a local fire fighter who everyone in the town loves and knows. Things start to turn around for Jessica and things start to change for her. She becomes an English school teacher at the local high school. There she meets her first good friend and a bunch of teenagers who love her, but also convince her to go to Mexico with them. There in Mexico things drastically change for Jessica. This is a great book and also a great series. You learn more about each character you've read in a book in the other books. I just love how Robin Jones Gunn can take characters from all of her books and insert them into her other works. There's some mentions of Doug from the Christy Miller series in the books and vise versa.
