Summary: Surprisingly Sweet
Review: Since childhood, I have been an avid reader whereby I developed a variety of tastes concerning literary genres. Although, I haven't necessarily been a big romance reader I found Ms. Monk's work very good. The well structured plot created a sense of mystery and a hint of humor. I think that the female characters are fun as well as interesting. If you're a reader that hasn't read much romance or are just checking what books to get...I suggest this book as a fun novel to read while relaxing. My only disappointment is that the novel ends with a sense of longing for more as to what happens to each major character.

Summary: Awful - plain awful!
Review: The book started out quite well - but the fact that every time the witch wentto his room and they ended up having sex got a little predictable after the THIRD time! He also didn't back her up at all - no support - even after his son started to feel better. Terrible plot of chemistry between the two. She had no self-esteem in herself to fall for a man who treated her so badly. She should have said "no" the second time he wanted to see her in his room just to "talk"!

Review: THE WITCH AND THE WARRIOR is the first book I've read by Karyn Monk, but it definitely won't be the last. Ms. Monk is an excellent writer, with an imagination non-pareil. I loved the characters, from the major to the minor. This is the best romance novel I've read in a long, long time.

Summary: Bewitching
Review: This is my second book of Karyn Monks and compared to ONCE A WARRIOR, this book is equally fascinating. I was actually hoping this is a sequel to ONCE A WARRIOR but alas, it's a whole different story. A unique and enthralling one indeed. When I figured this book wasn't in any relation to the hero/heroine of O.A.W., I thought I'd be a bit disappointed. I am happy to be mistaken. This book has a spunk of it's own. From the beginning to the end, I was bewitched. I couldn't stop reading for fear of missing the best part. Each page, I was waiting for the story to go just a bit bland so I can stop and go to sleep... to my amazement, I finish the book at 4:30 in the morning. It was also worth being a zombie at work by 7am :-)Mad Alex and Gwendolyn both have been through deep sadness in their lives so when the time came for both to help each other forget pain and feel love instead, it was truly a heart warming ride. I specially like Gwendolyn. Her spirit remains intact even after all the people's hatred and fear towards her. Yes, she became cool and resigned to people's insults yet her heart never stop longing. She's innocent & her heart's pure... She is truly what Mad Alex need, not only to save his son but to save his soul as well. Lachlan, Reginald and Owen: The three council elders of the McDunn Clan was an added spice to this book. They are ones of my favorite in the book. They are soooo funny! Their banters, dialogues and ways of adjusting to Gwendolyn was hearty as well as humorous. This book is blended nicely. Plenty of lovely romances, A bit of exciting action twist, Heart quenching situations and lots of humorous occurances. My small complaint about this book is once again, just like K.M's other book ONCE A WARRIOR, this one also didn't have an epilogue. I guess that's just her style. But it would have been nice to read about them in the future, to know if they'll have children of their own, a daughter perhaps? will they be needing the mystical gem for their children? and what about David? How would he fare in the future and so forth. Perhaps there will be a sequel? Oh well, despite that teeny weeny complaint, I still rated this book a 5 stars because it was truly a bewitching read. I am now in the process of reading THE ROSE AND THE WARRIOR. I hope Karyn Monk would continue to amaze me with her talent just like she did in the two books I've read of hers.

Review: This is one of the best romance novels i have ever read. It kept me in constant suspence. I even stayed up until 520 in the morning reading it. Karyn Monk is one of the all time best romance writers.

Summary: Great, fascinating story
Review: This is one of the most impressive and fascinating books I've ever read. I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book from beginning to end. One small regret is that I couldn't clearly understand how the hero Mad Max came to terms with the fact that he was in love with a woman other than his late wife. He just stopped talking to his late wife but he was feeling guilty over his love for Gwendolyne. And I felt that there must be some explanation about how he overcome the guilty concience and made up his mind. Other than that, this book is truly one of my favorites. I really look forward to the author's next book.
