Summary: Hey that's my name too!
Review: I really liked this book. I picked it up because I like historical romances. It was great when I found out that the heroin's name was the same as mine. Definatly a plus! The plot was very interesting. Gwendolyn is a woman branded a witch. In the start she is tied to a stack and ready to be burned. I like the element of magic through out the whole book. I would really recommend this book to anyone interested in history, magic, and love!

Summary: A romance author that should be on everone's to buy list
Review: In the thirteenth century being accused of practicing witchcraft usually meant that the accused was burned at the stake. In the Scottish Highlands, Clan MacSween has charged one of their members, Gwendolyn of being a witch. Every mischance that has truck a clan member has been laid to her feet, partially because her mother was burned as a witch and partially because the Laird's brother, Robert, has set her up in order to force her to tell him where she has hidden a jewel he covets.

As Gwendolyn is about to be burned at the stake, Mad Alex MacDunn, a nearby Laird, kidnaps her from the death platform. Alex needs her to employ her magic to save the life of his beloved son, dying from an illness. Gwendolyn realizes that, if she is to stay alive, she must trick Alex because she has no magical powers. At the same time, she wants to do something for the sick child. As Gwendolyn uses pragmatic means to help save a dying boy, she and Alex discover a more powerful magic than witchcraft: love.

THE WITCH AND THE WARRIOR is a tremendous Medieval romance, written by one the sub-genre's top authors, Karyn Monk. The lead couple is a dazzling pair, struggling with enemies from without and needs from within their hearts. The fabulous story line is filled with action, intrigue, and mostly the superstitions of the times in such a lively manner, readers will feel they have entered a time machine, experience medieval life first hand, turning this book into a must read for fans of historical romance. Ms. Monk illuminates the era with her fabulous novels.

Summary: Love Story That's Lovable!
Review: Loved it and not often have I found a book that was equal in entertainment level as the Wolf & the Dove. I'm very particular with what I read and will not waste my time reading a book that doesn't hold my attention. It must have a plot...not just sex. Though the sex parts are pretty graphic they don't overpower the storyline which is one of sadness, lonliness and love. Great characters and the humor really made this story. It's a repeater.

Summary: Wonderful Scotsman Heros!
Review: Mad Alex MacDunn, along with 'side kicks', Brodick, Ned and Cameron exemplify what's good in mankind and they do it in 'normal' ways, that any man could do. It's wonderful to see men portrayed as real men instead of god like creatures, as many romance novelists portray them. They have common conversations, and the wit and humor of Karyn Monk is great. Heroine, Gwendolyn, was also portrayed well, but can't we have a little less fraility among the romantic heroines, very few women out there are actually so frail that the men in their lives are afraid they will hurt them if they hug them too tightly!

Summary: Wonderful, engages every emotion. Superb humor
Review: Ms. Monk's last book "Once a warrior" was good enough for me to order this book. This one, however, is just FABULOUS. Romance novels, by their nature, are much the same. The difference is in the details. You are never bored with this book. I'm about to re-read it. The humor is utterly endearing, and I laughed out loud several times. Just a wonderful book. I hope there are more coming.

Summary: Powerful Romance
Review: Once again Karyn Monk shows she is an expert at weaving a powerful, intriguing, thoroughly entertaining story. Rich with vibrant characters and an extraordinary plot, The Witch and The Warrior is a moving tale of betrayal, loss, restored hope and the power of love.

You can't help but fall in love with the heroine, hero and extended cast of characters. If you haven't read Ms. Monk's work before, you're in for a marvelous experience.

Summary: WARNING - Do Not Start at NIGHT - You Won't Put It Down
Review: Outstanding book! Condemned to be burned at the stake for witchcraft, Gwendolyn McSween, has borne the ridicule and hatred from her clan all her life. She has resolved that she will die and expects no rescue which is why when Alex (Mad laird of MacDunn) and a few of his clan effect a daring resue from the flames her hopes are raised.

Alex MacDuff only knows that the 'witch' of the neighboring clan is his last hope to save the life of his beloved son. He expects to see an old hag being dragged to the stake and is surprised to see the witch is not a hag but a beautiful young maid. Gwendolyn's biggest problem is that she is not a 'witch' and has no pwers to cure - so if she cannot save the laird's son, she's dead anyhow! Talk about caught between a hard place.......

Alex has not been the same since he lost his beloved wife and if he loses his son..he feels he will die as well. Gwendolyn is an enigma to him. He vowed never to love again and yet this 'witch' seems to have cast her spell over him. Only a very special love can save him from his madness and the very corageous and selfless 'witch' just may be his salvation.

The secondary characters are really funny in this love story especially the three elders of the clan! The warning is real - this is a 'read through the night book' - Get it - you will not be sorry!

Summary: I believe this book is as good as Once a Warrior
Review: Please let me know of the Once A warrior model as I am in the process of finishing a manuscript that is going to be written as a screenplay. I would like to get ahold of Franco to do mine and possibly use this model in the movie. Please let me know, I am quite serious. Thank you Victoria Kreh Huffman

Summary: Pretty Good...
Review: She's trying to mix magic, history AND romance all together... you'd have to be Nora Roberts to make it stellar with that combination. Pretty good in view of that...
