Rating: Summary: Brown Eyed Girl Review: As usual Mariah Stewart does a wonderful job of hooking you into the story right away. Although this book has a little more suspense than her other books i still loved reading it. She has not abandoned those of us who still want a lot of romance with a little bit of suspense thrown in. Mariah Stewart is a wonderful author who seems to keep getting overlooked by readers. BUY THIS BOOK! Pick up her other books as well you will become a devoted fan to her books. If you like Nora Roberts, Jayne Ann Krentz, Elizabeth Lowell you will really like Mariah Stewart as well.
Rating: Summary: Allow plenty of time...... Review: because when you sit down to read Brown-Eyed Girl, you're going to have to finish it in one sitting! I've been a fan of Ms. Stewart since her first book and she just keeps getting better and better. There are very few authors who are really good at Romantic Suspense. Generally, one category or the other is shortchanged, but not with this book. Leah is a wonderful character and you feel every emotion right along with her as she tries desperately to find information on her missing sister. And Ethan, whose wife was a victim of the same serial killer Leah fears murdered her sister, is complex, kind, withdrawn, passionate and tortured - in short, a perfect hero. All of the secondary characters, especially Genna, Holly and Tom, are great examples of living, breathing people. I couldn't wait to find out what happened to Melissa and I hated for the book to end! What better compliment for an author. I'm also rooting for Genna Snow, intrepid FBI agent,to have her own story told. You must buy this book. I read dozens of books each month and this one is a definite "keeper".
Rating: Summary: Great suspense, great leading characters! Review: Brown-eyed Girl by Mariah Stewart is one sweet little suspense novel and I regret that it took me so long to find it. The moral to that statement is order from Amazon and don't depend on your local bookstore. Leah McDevitt lost a sister, Melissa seven years earlier. She disapeared without a trace and the police suspected foul play but could never prove it since they didn't have a body. Leah makes an appearance on a t.v. show dealing with survivors who have lost someone to crime. During the show, she confirms that the $50,000 reward is still open until she finds out what happens to her sister. Enter into the picture, Raymond Lambert, a convicted serial killer about to be executed. He offers information about Melissa if Leah will pay the reward money to him. Lambert has one vital piece of information that convinces Leah that he knows what happened to Melissa. Before Leah can transfer money into his account, he is killed on death row by another inmate. Not knowing where to turn, Leah contacts Ethan Sanger, the author of a book about Lambert. Sanger doesn't want to get involved. Lambert had left his mark on Ethan years before. Leah convinces him to help not knowing their world is about to come crashing down around them. Brown-Eyed Girl is beautifully written and keeps your attention. I would have given this book a five except there were times that it was a little too obvious what was coming. However, this is one sharp book. Read it, you'll enjoy it.
Rating: Summary: Tender Romance With A Hint Of Suspense, Review: Brown-Eyed Girl by Mariah Stewart, was one of my favorite Mariah Stewart books. The romance is there but it isn't as heated as some of the other romance novels out today...NOT a bad thing mind you it's just different, touching actually. I enjoyed it.

Rating: Summary: Great Novel! Couldn't put it down! Review: Great Romantic Suspense with well developed characters and plot. I couldn't put it down! I strongly recommend this to fans of Romance OR Suspense!
Rating: Summary: No romance, lousy suspense Review: Here's one more writer whose abandoning her readers in romance to write "suspense." What a gyp! Mariah Stewart used to write wonderful, family-type romances, but now she's trying to be another Tammy Hoag or something and it's not working. People who like real suspense will feel as cheated as her romance fans will. These are the whiniest, weakest characters she's ever created. I didn't care about any of them. Please, Mariah,go back to the booksyou use d to write so well and don't try to be something your not.
Rating: Summary: Very good romantic suspense! Review: I am a very big fan of Mariah Stewart. I'm more into the relationship/romance stories, one's that don't include a dark side to life. The storyline caught my attention real fast, & I had a hard time putting it down. The relationship's grew as did the suspense. Ms. Stewart made this book even better than her others because the characters were flawed, troublesome and still very human and loving. I highly recommend this book, just allow plenty of time to read.
Rating: Summary: Definitely a "must read author"!!! Review: I had never read a book by Mariah Stewart and was amazed to find how hooked I was right from the start when I found "Brown-Eyed Girl"! I have a group of authors whose books I try to make a point of reading, and she is definitely on my list now! I love her style of writing - the blend of romance and suspense and a little bit of every-day wit and humor are just the right ingredients. I also like the fact that there is not a great amount of sexual detail - just a great down-to-earth story, that has subtle romance which seems to be more effective and meaningful. The characters of Leah and Ethan are so well-developed that you feel they are people you would like to have in your life, and it is hard to let go of them at the end of the book. I am now reading "Voices Carry", which is sort of a sequel, in that the main characters of this book were secondary characters in "Brown-Eyed Girl", and I am thoroughly enjoying that book also. It is not necessary to read them in order, as the stories do not tie in very much, but I would definitely recommend that you read them both, as they are each such engrossing stories! In fact, I am so impressed with her style that I have ordered or bought all of her books to read, and am looking forward to many more "adventures"! So glad I found her!
