Summary: I want a series!
Review: After her mother's tragic death, impoverished in America, Angel travels to England to see the relatives from whom she has been kept all her life. Yet, before meeting them, she encounters the man who is their most bitter rival, the earl of Trelayne, Max, near her mother's grave. The attraction between them is instant, but not without danger. Max is a vampire, and though sworn not to take human life or blood, Angel is almost tempting enough to make him break his vow.

She is the prize in a war between the creatures of the night. Her blood holds within it a secret long searched for among the vampires. For her to remain human, it will take the protection of not only a powerful vampire, but the vigilance of a werewolf, as well as Angel's own strength and cunning.

*Haunting, passionate, and eerie, this book reaches out to the fans of classic gothic writers such as Dorthy Eden or Mary Stewart and the more modern fans of popular series such as Buffy or the Kindred. Unique twists on the classic legends make for a book that you will rush to the finish, but hate for it to end. Hopefully, this is only the first in a series of novels. *

Summary: Wonderful!
Review: Angelina "Angel" Blythe Corbett had grown up an orphan in America. Her mother, Eileen, had killed herself and left instructions that her relatives in England NOT be contacted. However, once grown, Angel went to meet Eileen's brother and his wife, Sir Alexander and Lady Sarina Blythe. Angel had trained as a lab assistant and hoped Sir Alexander would give her the position of being his lab assistant. But here had been a very good reason that Eileen had not wanted Angel to ever meet her brother. Alexander was not human.

Maximillian Britton, Earl of Trelayne, was Sir Alexander's enemy. The two creatures of the night had an ancient grudge match going. Max vowed to protect Angel from her uncle, him, and herself. Angel was the pawn in the vampires' game, and she would also be the prize.

Then there was Shelly Holmes, famed as an investigator for Scotland Yard. Being of the Lycanthropy breed, she knew about vampires. She was after the serial killer known as the Beefsteak Killer. She kept close eye on the two fierce vampires.

***** If you love Gothic Romances then you simply must read this one. The only real difference that I noticed was that this novel was not written in the first person view. I saw more than what just the heroine saw too. Filled with romance, danger, non-human beings, and suspense this story is sure to please! *****

Summary: Brilliant Gothic Vamp Tale
Review: Colleen Shannon is a solid writer that delivers well-crafted tales. This is one of her best. I really loved the "The Wolf of Haskell Hall" "The Gentle Beast" and "Heaven's Rogue". She is deft at creating very vivid characters and giving you a well-paced story that keeps you turning page after page, unable to put the book down.

Loosely tied to the wonderful "The Wolf of Haskell Hall", she paints her tale with the same atmospheric elements in the true Gothic style. Set in the period that spawn Jack the Ripper, Angelina Blythe Corbett travels to England for answer to questions that have haunted her since childhood, questions concerning her mother's death. She is a research scientist, hoping to convince her Uncle to permit her to assist in his work with blood chemistry. But she is forced to come to terms with things outside the laws of science, things related to her heritage. She finds herself swept up in bizarre events, trapping her between an evil killer of ancient origins - a vampire - and the last in the line of vampire killers.

A serial killer is terrorizing the country, murdering young beautiful women of lower class, and rumours are spreading the victims were left drained of all blood. After meeting Shelly Holmes (the character from "The Wolf of Haskell Hall" and clearly a loving tribute to Sherlock Holmes), they both begin to wonder if there might be a real vampire is a loose in Merry Ole England.

She also meets The Earl of Tremayne, neighbor to her uncle, when she visits her mother's grave. He is a wickedly handsome rogue, the type to make the ladies sigh. Angel is attracted to him, feels instantly they are fated to be together. However, is he merely bewitchingly attractive or does he have a bit more "bite" to him than the usual bloke? Her love for the Earl soon casts Angel as the pawn in the battle of titan vampires - one good and one evil.

The writing and the characters are so fresh, so original, making this her best book so far and one that should thrill vampire fans!

Hope this is the first in a series for the Legacy!

Summary: 2nd book in series
Review: I really enjoyed this wicked dark and atmospheric gothic tale. The character of Shelly Holmes appears here as a gothic Dana Scully- a woman of science who investigates paranormal cases for Scotland Yard. She acts as a protector for Angel and Max and helps them defeat the evil vampire out to defile Angel and kill Max.

Colleen Shannon's gothics are very much to my taste- sexy, dark but with some humor and mystery tossed in. I cannot wait until the next book- I want to know what more Ms. Holmes stumbles across..... and how she deals with her own changed self(...)

Summary: delightful gothic/vampire romance
Review: In 1880 Angelina Blythe Corbett needs to learn what drove her mother to leave England for America and subsequently kill herself. She travels to Oxford where her uncle employs her as his lab assistant. However, Angelina is stunned when she learns that someone is killing women by draining their blood apparently from two pinprick teeth marks on the victim's necks, hinting of vampires.

The Earl of Trelayne, Maximillian Britton continues his family quest to destroy the undead. He will use whatever it takes including becoming a vampiric mole to infiltrate them until he eliminates the deadliest one of all, The Beefsteak Killer. However, Angelina has given him a new problem to ponder, as his desires for her seem inhuman even to Maximillian. Though she has some doubts as evidence points towards Maximillian as the killer, Angelina also knows that he is her true love and that she could never cherish a murderer. Yet to convince him they belong together will prove nearly impossible because he cannot allow his beloved to join him as a damned creature fighting the bloodsuckers of the night.

Fans of vampire romances and gothic tales will delight in Colleen Shannon's THE TRELAYNE INHERITANCE. The story line grips the audience from the opening scene when Maximillian does what he does best. The lead couple appears like classic gothic types as she is an innocent and he is a brooding individual with a secret. The strong support cast includes the return of characters from THE WOLF OF HASKELL HALL. Throw in a twist or two on the classic gothic/vampire romance leads to the audience enjoying a delightful bite.
