Review: I love Susan Wiggs's books. They are, without fail, touching and funny and smart. But The Charm School, with its wonderful characters and exotic setting, is my new all-time favorite Wiggs creation. Just a fabulous book -- I'd give it ten stars if I could!

Summary: Original, funny, and romantic.
Review: This was unlike any romance novel I've read (and I've read thousands). The emotional connection between the hero and heroine was well-developed and believable, but what blew me away was the attention to detail and setting. From the decks of a merchant ship to a waterfall in the jungles of Brazil to the domesticated jungles of Beacon Hill, I was able to buy into every detail without missing a beat. With such a richly drawn backdrop, how could these two misfit souls fail to find true love and conquer the evils of slavery? I would recommend this funny and poignant book to anybody!

Review: This book had me roped in from the first words. I read it in less than two days even though its 400 pages.The story line was fantastic, purely wonderful romantic fantasy. Wow. I'm reading it again.

Review: Many of us remember being the lost person in a crowd. This is more heart breaking when you are lost in your own family. Isadora has a keen sense of business in a family of "beautiful" people. No one sees her, least of all the guy she has a mad crush on. Her "Charm School" becomes the ship "Silver Swan." The captain Ryan doesn't see her beauty immediately. He views her as a thorn in his side. The Swan has a hidden mission Ryan has sworn to complete. This sub plot and romantic story line evolve into a great relationship. A make over doesn't come immediately. Isadora and Ryan have their ups and downs; yet in the end they know each other's souls. If you are looking for a wonderful story, with complex characters, this is not to be missed!

Review: Oh, what a wonderful hero! He was truly bumbling and an irrepressible rogue, in so many ways, but he came through beautifully. Isadora was a wonderful heroine, too. In just the right places she realized what she'd thought she had dreamed of her whole life wasn't what she wanted at all. Buy this book (and all of Susan's other books) and you won't regret your choice. Susan Wiggs is by far one of the most exciting writers in romance today.

Review: She's the gauche misfit daughter of prominent Boston socialites. He's the "bad boy" abolitionist son of a slave-holding Southern plantation owner.
