Summary: Wonderful Read
Review: Nora Roberts has written another wonderful book! This one, the beginning of the O'Hurley series, sets the pace for the other three books which are equally entertaining. The Relationship that Dylan establishes with both Abigail and her children is touching.

Summary: A Good and Honest Romance Read!
Review: Nora Roberts, well known for her family series, once again delights readers with several books about the O'Hurley family. Beginning with The Last Honest Woman, we meet Abby onew of the triplets born to Frank and Molly O'Hurley and their son Trace. The O'Hurleys are a show business family who travel from one gig to another entertaining audiences in both large cities and small towns. Each of their children in some way is able to entertain and so the world of show business is something they grow up doing along with their parents beside them.

Today, though, Abby no longer entertains but spends her days raising two small children and on a horse farm in Virginia. She is the widow of a well- known racing car driver, Charles Rockwell, who died during a race. But Abby who married at 18 was ill prepared for her husband's lifestyle and is acutely aware that her marriage ended way before Charles death.

Now Dylan Crosby, a journalist, has approaches Abby to write a book about her husband. As Abby wonders what she will say and what will be written, she invites Dylan to stay with her on the farm and see what her life is all about. Reluctant at first to give him all of the facts lest her children someday be hurt by them, Abby finds herself growing fonder and fonder of Dylan while he tries resisting her. But as Dylan finds out more and more about her supposedly wonderful life, Dylan can no longer stop feelings he also has for Abby and her sons.

This was a most enjoyable book as Ms. Roberts begins this series. The readers are offered heartwarming and endearing characters particularly Abby, Dylan and Abby's parents, Frank and Molly O'Hurley.

Summary: Great Roberts, Also Explores Big Themes
Review: Please, I implore the publishers of these books to label them more clearly. "The Last Honest Woman" is book one of a 4-part series about the show-business O'Hurleys; unfortunately, not knowing that, I already read the other 3 parts. That said, it was fun to go back and revisit where this story began, and to see how and why Abby, the "middle" triplet, did not follow in the family business of entertaining others for a living.

Dylan Crosby, the writer who comes to chronicle the life of Abby's late husband, is almost too good to be true -- he likes her kids, cooks, pitches in around the house ... and of course falls in love with Abby. This is a very light read but a sweet tale.

Review: This book is a great read whether or not you're a Nora Roberts fan, but it also packs something extra, namely insight into the real world not usually found in romance novels. Roberts captures the press of single-parenthood, the sting of infidelity, and the struggle to attain trust in a nuanced, understated way in addition to maintaining a page-turning, entertaining plot. (She manages to do something similar with life themes and great storytelling in Jewels of the Sun.) It's an achievement that is a testament to Roberts' real talent.

Summary: Love story as it's supposed to be
Review: This is a straight forward love story at its best. Likeable characters, sympathetic dilemmas along the way and a satisfying resolution. Like all good romances, life is a tad idyllic, especially in regards to the extended family, but would it be any fun if it wasn't? In fact, this story is even more fun because there is at least a touch of realism--people do housework. Bonus--this is the first in the series about the O'Hurley family--I loved all of them.

Summary: Nora Roberts - 12 years ago is still good!!
Review: This is actually a re-issue of the first two books about the O'Hurley triplets and their brother. Since I did not read the originals it was all new to me. I read "O'Hurleys Return" first and had to go back and buy this one. It was WELL worth it. I loved Abby's story as I am a mom of 6 and often would wonder when the kids were young what I would do if something happened to my husband who used to travel quite frequently. Abby shows amazing courage and drive. She is goal oriented. The book does not show her as a perfect mom which I also liked. Without giving away the story I will say that I felt for her situation of trying to keep personal things private and protect her kids but at the same time allowing her deceased husband's biographer to tell a more complete story.

I also enjoyed so much the second story about Maddy and her life as a dancer, singer and actress in theatre in New York. Her Bohemian life style and fun loving spirit were great and the romance written was very believable. I enjoyed the development of Reed Valentine as well.

The O'Hurleys are a fun family and maybe like her MacGregor series Ms. Roberts will considered a new generation to write about?

Summary: New to Nora Roberts
Review: This is the first novel I have read by Nora Roberts. The storyline is good, but I cannot feel why these two characters are attracted to each other. Dylan is rude, angry, and possibly abusive since he grabs her, shakes her, and is just plain rude at times. I don't see where the attraction started for her. But the story is ok and I made it through the story.
