Summary: Right from Wrong is a great read!
Review: Being one of Cindy Bonner's biggest fans, I absolutely could NOT wait to dig into this book! I was hooked after only the first page, and I loved everything about the book. This is her 4th novel, and the story is this time told in 3rd person, but the story is every bit as believable as all her others. This is forbidden love at its best. No one else could make us believe that two first cousins could fall for each other so completely! A truly wonderful story all-around!

Summary: Tragic Love Story
Review: I didn't come across this book the normal way I usually come across books. Normally I read favorite authors, Amazon recommends, friends recommend or I just happen to see it in a bookstore and impulse buy. This time was different. I had a babysitter named Cindy Bonner when I was a child, and hence the same name, I just felt the urge to read this book. I absolutly loved it.

This book is set in the years before and after World War I. Sunny and Gil are first cousins, but although they know it is wrong, they fall in love anyways. Guilt keeps them apart for many years and each make many mistakes along the way. Sunny gets pregnant and marries a local boy, whom she later divorces after the death of their daughter. Gil goes to war and comes back a changed and wounded man. Sunny gets pregnant again by her ex-husband's brother and flees to North Texas, where she marries a much older man. Gil marries a local girl (who is also a cousin of Sunny's on her father's side) and it isn't a very happy marriage. After several years Gil and Sunny meet again, realize they are still in love and both leave their spouses. In order to stay together they flee to France to live and finally have some peace. Unfortunately their happieness ends tragically. (WARNING, tears likely at the end of novel)

This is one of those books that stays with you long after you read it. It's definetly a keeper. In reading information on other books by Cindy Bonner, I realized this is actually the 4th in a series that is set in Texas and is about the same family. Lily, A Love Story, Looking After Lily and The Passion of Dellie O'Barr. I haven't read these books, but they are a must read if they are as good as Right from Wrong.

Right from Wrong reminds me a lot of another book by another author, These is my Words by Nancy E. Turner. Set in the 1880's, this is the diary of Sarah Prine. This book stays with you, the setting is so vivid and you'll want to read it over and over. (WARNING, tears likely at the end of novel)

Summary: A Truly Original Book!
Review: I thought that this book was incredibly well written, and very original. I picked it up in the library never having heard of the author, and I didn't put it down until I finished the entire book in one day. In a day where it is hard to find something new and fresh, this book meets those expectations. I highly reccomend this book, and it's author to anyone looking for a fresh mind!

Summary: Right from Wrong is a great read!
Review: If you want to be swept away, and get deeply immersed in your charactors, this is the book for you. The WWI setting, the forbidden love story, the broken dreams and hearts, all add up to a delicious story! I can't wait to read more from Cindy Bonner!

Summary: A correction for the reader's sake.
Review: Just to clarify for the sake of the reader, and to avoid disappointment. The story takes place around the time of the FIRST World War not the "Second World War" as is stated in the KIRKUS Review.

Summary: A must read...
Review: Right from Wrong is an amazing story of love and tragedy! I was completely unable to put this book down after reading only a couple of pages. A very emotional and at times frustrating tale is told about the love that two people share for each other. I was very pleased with how vivid the story was and how easily it was to imerse yourself in it! I was crying terribly by the end of the story and can't wait to read it again!

Summary: Accurate portrayal of a very real issue!
Review: This is NOT your typical "romance". This is not sentimental fluff without substance. It will make you laugh and leave you crying.

Gil and Sunny's love for each other is one which is often viewed as scandalous, taboo, and yet absolutely beautiful and heart wrenching... They are first cousins.

This is certainly nothing new. Cousin romances have existed since the beginning of time, and are not all that uncommon, even in today's world. However, the subject is one that few authors have the courage to write about. Cindy Bonner handles a difficult subject with grace, compassion, sensitivity, and realism.

Set in the early 1900's, Sunny and Gil face tremendous prejudices against them. Yet love is something that can not be denied, and is worth sacrificing everything for. The couple overcomes every obstacle imaginable, and their love endures through the best and worst of circumstances.

Never has a story touched my heart like this one, and never has one echoed the thousands of voices of cousins who find themselves in similar situations so clearly.
