Rating: Summary: Buy it ! You won't regret it! You'll be hooked from page one Review: It was their fight scenes that got me....no it was Maggie's fierce temper and complete panic at the thought of being a duchess....no no it was Jeremy's adorable singleminded determination to have Maggie period...no it was the dog she named after him because she missed him so much. It was all of those things and more such as great dialogue and even better love scenes. Jeremy's happy resignation at the thought of having to wed a compromised Mags was topped in comedic effect only by his dismay at the idea that Edward wasn't going to force them to be married. Maggie's attempts to disuade Jeremy's pursuit were very entertaining to see. Ms.Cabot has a real talent for creating stories that are a delight read and cause an appetite for more of the same.
Rating: Summary: OUTSTANDING Review: Maggie and Jeremy are the best. I only hope that they have some children or that Ms. Cabot has thought about writing something with little Elizabeth. I could not believe that Maggie thought that Jeremy was going to let her go without a fight. If you are considering buying only one book this month one should be it.
Rating: Summary: Silly fun stuff Review: This book is silly fun. That's it really. Two immature people circling each other, both crazy about each other but just couldn't say the three words for no particular reason. It's fun, breezy to read, and there are many laugh-out-loud scenes. If only there is more substance to the fun. *sigh*
Rating: Summary: PASS ON THIS BOOK Review: This book was passable. I thought the two characters were very immature and did not merit their own story. They were playing at being in love and I did not find it entertaining. I have read Cabot's other 2 books and highly recommend those, but save your money and pass on this one.
Rating: Summary: Patricia Cabot is now on my auto-buy list Review: This book was such a good read---I'll buy anything she writes now without even looking at the back cover.
Rating: Summary: A sweet and charming book Review: This is a nice, light regency romance. The story is sweet. Jeremy and Maggie are nicely characterized. However, I just could not believe that Jeremy could fall in love with Maggie so fast and that Maggie could be so stubborn about her feelings for Jeremy and because of her stubornness she gets engaged with someone else! But still, this book is sweet and a must read for regency romance fans.
Rating: Summary: A delightfully clever charming story. Review: This is Ms. Cabot's second book. I found that I did not want this delightful story to end. Hopefully we will meet these characters again in another of Ms. Cabots books... I have been recommending her novels to all of my friends
Rating: Summary: Don't be misled! Review: This wonderful story picks up some characters from a previous story, Where the Roses Grow Wild. I almost didn't read it because of the other reviews, but they are wrong! The characters are fully developed, and there are innocent misunderstandings that cause all kinds of mayhem (naturally), there's some great humor; just a charming and delightful story as delicious as her others. (I did think the Star of Jaipur subplot was a little dopey, but hey, the rest of the book was great!)
Rating: Summary: Delicate Humor. 3.5 Stars Review: To the author's credit, the book's part one has the feel of adolescence. Two people have grown from childhood adversaries to youthful dreamers. Maggie Herbert dreams of studying art in Paris, her fantasy to become a famous painter. Jeremy Rawlings dreams of mystical India, his fantasy to become a soldier in the queen's Horse Guards. An embarrassing situation allows both of them to go for their aspirations. Years pass and our two visionaries have achieved their fantasies. Maggie is an accepted artist and Jeremy is a decorated military hero. Simultaneously, they come back to England, and discover they can no longer deny their neglected passion. First introduced in Cabot's "Where Roses Grow Wild", each and everyone has witnessed "Mags" and "Jerry" evolve from childhood rivals into sultry lovers. Patricia Cabot paves the road to love with gentle humor, thus rescuing her book. Jeremy Rawlings, the Duke of Rawlings can be a little trying. In other words, the world revolves around him. Maggie can be a little dense. In other words, HE can't possibly love me. Nevertheless, Cabot does fill these pages with effective comedy, and the reader will enjoy the lighter moments. Problem areas: * Jeremy's insane obsession to get Maggie into his bed. * Maggie's inability to accept Jeremy's surrender. * The entire business surrounding the mistaken "Jewel of Jaipur". Grace Atkinson, Ontario - Canada.
Rating: Summary: A sexy fun filled romp that you can't put down! Review: What fun Potrait of My Heart is. The characters are colorful and filled with a feisty wit that is becoming Ms. Cabot's trademark. The locations are glorious in their descriptions, and the sex is steamy and provacative. The sexual tension between Maggie and Jeremy builds with each page and the plot twists keep the reader on the edge of their seats. Three cheers for a must read!
