Rating: Summary: Something New in Romance Review: This was the first book I ever read by Kat Martin, and because of Night Secrets I'm reading as many of her books as I can get my hands on. What caught my attention was that I have never seen a major tradgedy happen to a hero before. Sure, their friends die, or they get into situations where they are in danger of dying or being seriously injured, but they always end up just fine. For the first time I have ever seen, a physical tragedy befalls the hero. This story shows the real meaning of love and commitment. Loving someone enough to stay with someone when they don't want you, and loving them enough to let them go. It's a beautiful story. Don't miss it!
Rating: Summary: OUTSTANDING! Review: This was the first book I ever read by Kat Martin, and I was thoroughly impressed. This book reminded me why I started reading romance novels in the beginning. First, it was an epic story that takes place over several years and several locations. Second, the two characters have been fighting an attraction to each other for years, which makes their love story seem so believable. Third, Marcus is a classic romantic hero-he's handsome, strong, and dashing. I also like the fact that KM made him stronger, even at his weakest point. Fourth, Brianne (Brandy) is the type of heroine I love-she's spunky and brave, and she doesn't give up on love no matter what. Overall, this book just touched my heart in a way that no roamance novel has in a long time. Thank you, Kat Martin, for restoring my faith in romance novels.
Rating: Summary: I LOVED IT! Review: THIS WAS THE FIRST BOOK OF KAT MARTINS THAT I HAD READ. I WENT OUT AND BOUGHT ANY BOOK I COULD FIND BY HER.
Rating: Summary: COULD NOT PUT IT DOWN. Review: This was the first Kat Martin book I have read. It is hard to find a Author that compares to Johanna Lindsey. But I must say I really enjoyed this book. I am looking forward to reading more of hers.
Rating: Summary: Okay book done many times before. Review: When I started reading the book, I was excited about starting another Kat Martin book, because she is one of my favorite authors. Well, I thought the first half of the was really enjoyable, and if Ms. Martin went along the same lines as the first half the book I would have given the book 5 stars. Unfortunitly, Ms. Martin makes a wrong choice by seperating the characters. From that point I believe the book falls apart. Brianne, or Brandy as she is refered to by everyone in the book, except by Marcus and the back of the book, is a tarven worker who wants to escape her demanding father. She does so by sneaking aboard Captain Marcus' ship. At first the Marcus is mad at Brandy for sneaking aborad his ship but realizes his true feelings for her. Brandy, of course is already in love with the handsome captain. The paradise must come to an end though and Brandy goes back home and Marcus sets off for the Orient. The two part thinking that they will never see each again. And this is where the book falls apart. Marcus, because of saboratage to his ship, is injured and no longer has the use of his legs. The ever brave Brnady rushes to his side. The rest is standard format for injured male and female romance. Man is ashamed of his new state and would rather remain hidden from the world while girl is still in love with her hero no matter if he has legs are not. If you read this story line before, don't waste your time on this book, if you reads one book like this then just applie the same sitution to this book and you got the plot.

Rating: Summary: Not Bad Review: While I enjoyed this (my 1st Kat Martin), it dragged a tad bit. The Earl and the tavern maid (nothing much took place in the tavern and I kept forgetting their backgrounds) were on a ship through the most enjoyable part of the book -- the rest lacked the feeling of excitement. My interest for Marcus came and went. After the voyage the captain became a little blah in his invalid state. But it did pick back up towards the end. I may try something else by this author and see ...
