Rating: Summary: Nice Book - but time for a change of scenery Review: I enjoyed this book - it was a good read - not a great read like many of Ms. Small's earlier books. I agree with the other readers who felt that the current characters weren't as exciting as India's ancestors. Perhaps it's time to move Skye's decendants out of the UK - while it's a given that the next episode will place Fortune in Ireland, perhaps Adrianna or one of Fortune's daughters will find themselves in America. The harem bit is getting tired and a change of scenery might be nice.
Rating: Summary: The True tradition of the previous Skye O'Malley lives on!! Review: I found this new legacy refreshing and imaginative. Ms. Small went out of her way to somehow make this book the same as her previous works, yet it has a flavor of its own. India's progress into adulthood was indeed inlightening. It showed that not all the women of this family are so noble in charater that they do not make mistakes. I think that Jasmine's character was a bit less thought out in this book. She did not seem to be as strong willed against her husband as she would have been in the past. The storyline was well-written and it is a unique twist for Ms. Small to allow a charater in her books to fall in love with, marry, and be able to maintain a relationship with only one man. It was expertly written and I am looking forward to her next book.
Rating: Summary: Disappointed in they Skye O'Malley legacy coming to this. Review: I have always been a Beatrice Small fan, loving all of her books the Skye series, the Kadin, Unconquered. They were all wonderful. But this book started with promise and became a parody of itself, Janet Skye dieing - why? She should have been the Legacy. Jasmine turning into such a ninny, Skye would have rolled over in her grave to have her Grandchild taken away from her, and James Leslie turning into a completely idiotic, abusive character. Why? Besides the characters turning foolish - the errors were numerous. Spelling Jamal Kahn on one page and Javid Kahn on the other. Saying God instead of Allah in a Muslim marriage ceromony. I was just truely disappointed in my favorite author, because this could have been a great book and a true legacy to the Skye O'Malley serious .
Rating: Summary: Just ignore most of the other reviews of this book Review: I have been an avid Bertrice Small fan since "Adora" came out so many years ago. Unlike these other reviewers, who seem to be come-lately readers to Ms. Small's romance novels, I understand that her books all have a certain element of similarity - a beautiful heroine, an exotic land, an equally exotic lover, and surprises regarding the land, the lover, the heroine, or all. This book is not a disappointment. It reads easily and quickly draws you into the world of India Lindley. While not on par with Small's masterpieces (Adora, Skye O'Malley, Enchantress Mine), "Bedazzled" still entertains. Words of note: best to avoid this novel until you've read all the other Skye O'Malley books. You'll be somewhat lost if you haven't read the others first. Also, the dialog at India's first meeting with the bey seems somewhat stiff -- again, this is due to Ms. Small's formula for a historical romance, and is easily overlooked.

Rating: Summary: Definitely a keeper for Skye O'Malley Fans!!! Review: I have been eagerly awaiting this book, and it was not a disappointment. This book is definitely a sequel and I am really looking forward to the next book which I hope will detail Fortune's return to Ireland. I will agree that the plot did not have as many twists and turns, nor was the story as in depth as some of her other Skye O'Malley books-but it was nice. Surprisingly enough, it only involved one husband. I was a bit surprised she stopped it before the execution of Charles I, but she does a good job setting up for it (again hopefully in the next novel). Sometimes I thought Jemmie Leslie a bit too much like his father, Jasmine a bit weaker than she had been, and India an overall brat-but with the number of years that had transpired? Again-it is a nice story. If you want to read and understand this book, I fully recommend the following books in THIS order-The Kadin, Love Wild and Fair, then- Skye O'Malley, All the Sweet Tomorrows, A Love For All Time, This Heart of Mine, Lost Love Found, Wild Jasmine, Darling Jasmine and then Bedazzled. This should bring you up to date on both the O'Malley clan and the Leslies interspersed throughout both sets of books, give you a wonderful sense of this historic period as well as make you a fan of this epic!
Rating: Summary: One for her greatest fans Review: I haven't enjoyed one of her novels this much since "Lost Love Found." I loved all the references to so many of the characters from her previous books and I was happy to find out what happened to Cat from "Love Wild and Fair." Although I think someone new to Bertrice Small's books would thoroughly enjoy this one, those of us who've been reading her books since the 70's will get the most out of it. BERTRICE, IF YOU READ THIS, I'D REALLY LIKE TO SEE FORTUNE LINDLEY AND IAN STEWART-HEPBURN GET TOGETHER!!!
Rating: Summary: what happened? Review: I love bertrice smalls' books. The series on Sky and her family is my favorite but there was something lacking in this book that I began to notice with the release of Darling Jasmine. I almost felt if Ms. Smalls heart was not into writing this book or the one before it. Maybe she wrote this book to make us ( her fans) happy. If you want intrique and adventure and a fiesty heroine read the first books in the series.
Rating: Summary: Not one of her best Review: I love Ms. Small's books! I have everyone one of them and reread them religiously. I did not like India. She is too spoiled and whiney. James and Jasmine infuriated me with their treatment of their daughter at the end. Very out of character as to their previous book. It was great to see Cat Leslie again, but had Skye been alive, I can't imagine how she would have allowed that heart-wrenching decision at the end. The best part of the book was Fortune Lindsey. Please, Ms. Small, let's see more of her. She has the intelligence and spunk that we miss from Skye.
Rating: Summary: So disappointed!! Review: I usually love Ms. Smalls books. I have been avidly reading them for sometime now. However this storyline is getting quite old. Frankly I am getting a little disgusted how these women from the O'Malley series put up with harems and sharing their men with others. Most of her characters have spit and vineger, however India is just plain stupid and silly. She is not what I would call a firey young woman, but an incrediably shallow, self-centered twit with the intelligance of a nat!
