Rating: Summary: A hero to die for! Review: This book is so well written that you find yourself in love with the very handsome, wonderful chad dillon. I hated to see the book end. A basic plot and basic story line but a heart tugging escape, for sure.
Rating: Summary: Too sappy! Review: This might have been written in 1992 but there were still things in it that were old fashioned even for 12 years ago. This book was just a little too sappy for my tastes. Chad was a little too pushy and Leigh too much of a pushover. I've read much better Sandra Brown books.
Rating: Summary: A Little Too Slow For My Tastes... Review: What I thought would be a very different type of story turned out to be a typical romance with nothing new to add to the genre. It bogged down in some parts and I found myself sighing and glad it wasn't that long of a book. Not typical for me reading a Brown book. The romance was contrived and the heroine was likeable at the beginning, but I lost interest in her halfway through. She got on my nerves with her 'past grievences' and hangups with the hero. The hero was very likeable and I have no real complaints with him per say, except maybe that he came on too strong considering the circumstances. I could see the plot easily and figure it out from about the second chapter how it was going to end and that disapointed me. The heroine Leigh finds herself stranded alone and in labor on a deserted stretch of Texas highway when a dusty and rugged looking stranger pulls up to help. Losing her husband eight months before, she isn't ready for another man in her life, but the gods seem to think otheriwse and place Chad Dillon in her path. Having a husband who was killed on the job, she was looking for a 'safe' man, not the mysterious guy with the gorgeous blue eyes who seemed to be hiding his profession. Keeping his past a mystery, Chad attempts to heal her broken heart, but can love conquer the thing that keeps her from him? Tracy Talley~@
