Rating: Summary: More Good Peoples Review: Major's second novel is a fun and light-hearted story that is a reminder about the importance of friendship and love. The four best friends Ibn, Dextor, Mike, and Colin promise to take care of their dead frat brother's sister Erika, and that they do. The guys love her and meddle in her life--not seeing her as a young adult, except for Mike. The fellas believe that they can council Erika, but neglect to take their own advice about life and relationships. Ibn is about to learn that what goes around comes around; Dexter and Mike experience that everything pretty is not always the best; Colin's lesson comes by learning to love himself first. The fellas and Erika make up a delightful story with page turning scandel and affection. Read this, you won't be dissappointed.
Rating: Summary: Zany characters and more good peoples Review: MM follows up Good Peoples with this book with more humour and crazy sayings in a book full of compelling characters. Friends for life Mike, Ibn, Dexter, and Colin have shared in everything since their college days. They are committed to their late friend Trevor's little sister, Erica, better known as Bunches. Nothing is too good for her. Now she is a grown woman in doing a medical internship but they keep treating like she is still fourteen years old. Screening her dates and getting in her business. But these guys need to tend to their own business. Ibn chasing woman like it is going out of style while he has a good woman like Tiffany. Colin is being manipulated by Stacy who treats him like a child. Dexter has gotten himself in a bind fathering a child with a woman he can barely stand. And Mike thinks he wants a woman who was the college tramp and proclaims now to be a born-again Christian. But is he chasing Sharice in order not to think about the sweet young thing that he is supposed to be big brother to. This book had so many funny scenes and lines, it kept me laughing. There were some memorable and touching moments as these young men loved and grew, well three of them anyway. :0) Look out for the scene with the fruit and whipped cream. Oooh la la.
Rating: Summary: Will There Be A Sequel? Review: Marcus Major's sophomore novel is a pleasant and well written story about five friends, their lives, their choices, and their relationships.Four Guys and Trouble gives us a glimpse into the lives of Colin, Mike, Dexter, and Ibn; four guys who have been friends since college. Their friendship is welded together by their fraternity ties and a promise that they made to another friend, Trevor, who died of leukemia, before graduating from college. That promise was that they look after Trevor's little sister, Bunches. Bunches is not so little anymore. She's a grown woman in medical school who is wiser than any of the guys give her credit. As the story unfolds, readers meet each guy and his significant other(s). Major deftly builds each character in such a way, that readers will grow fond of each one and really appreciate the bond that they share. The dialogue is excellent and readers will find themselves involved in the lives and sagas of these characters. The ending does not disappoint. My only question is ... will there be a sequel? Four Guys and Trouble is a 5 on the RAW Scale. Reviewed by Diane Marbury (HonestD)
Rating: Summary: Unbelievable Review: This book was excellent. Major really captured the readers attention with his four guys, Ibn, Mike, Colin, and Dexter. They all are old fraternity brothers who vowed to their friend Trevor when he died that they would take care of his little sister, Bunches. They spoil her rotten and they scare away any guy that shows interest in her. They all have the same goals, keeping Bunches safe, until one of the guys reveals that he is in love with her. This surprises the other guys and they have to learn to accept that their baby girl is a grown woman. I would reccomend this book to anyone who wants to laugh and cry as these friends decide whether anyone will ever be good enough for Bunches.
Rating: Summary: A must read for the Brothers! Review: Our book club read this novel as our selection for the month of May. Although the plot was somewhat predictable, the book was well written and kept each of us turning the next page anticipating the twists and turns that the storyline would take. The loyalty that the men showed to each other was refreshing and commendable. Overall, the club felt that this was a good novel and that Marcus Major definitely has the skills to become a serious player on the black literature scene. His next book will definitely be on our list!
Rating: Summary: Review from Pages Readers Group Review: 4 Guys and Trouble is an outstanding, exceptional, wonderful, and noteworthy second novel by Marcus Major. It evolves into a funny story about love, betrayal, friendships, hatred, jealousy, and convictions. When friendships are tested the characters are forced to accept growth because of change. While reading this novel you are drawn into the intertwining relationships between Ibn, Dexter, Colin, Michael, and then there is Bunches. A bright young woman and her life-long friendships established as a final promise to a lost friend. There are a cast of supporting characters like Stacy who belittles Colin, Tiffany who loves Ibn, born-again Christian Sharise, Denise who is Dexter's worse nightmare come true, and Stephanie who is waiting her turn that add to already a delightful storyline. Pages Readers Group recommends 4 Guys and Trouble and would like to thank Marcus for writing something so cool and talking to us about it. A must read...
Rating: Summary: Slow, Slow Start.... Review: I struggled through the first 200 pages of this book! In my opinion the book did not get somewhat decent until then. The excessive cussing is this book was just not necessary, I think the author threw them in just to take you attention away from the weak storyline. It wasn't the worst book I have read, but certainly not the best.

It brought out every emotion: laughter, sadness and anger. A must read! Friends are God's gifts, and this book shows that they each have their own way of touching your heart. Great job Marcus!!

Rating: Summary: Excellent book A MUST READ!!!! Review: 4 Guys and Trouble is and excellent book. I was really moved by it. It reminded it me of my brother and his friends except with someone getting together with someones sister but we all know that there is a Ibn in all groups of guys. Mike, Dexter, Colin, Ibn really made me open my eyes on guys Ibn made me realize that there is somone out there like him a DOG and Colin made feel like that there is a guy out ther like him that just are really blind to see that he should just get up and leave I really didn't like stacy but iI was so glad when he hooked up with Stacy Dexter we all knew that he was not in love with Denise so he should have been straight with her from the beginning and told her that he was not ready to have a children defintley not with her. Mike I knew that him and Bunches (Erika) were going to start something and when the other guys founf out I thought all hell was going to break loose but they did it the smart way and like they said in the end it's better that Mike And Bunches got together because then if anything went down they knew where to find Mike. The book was just excellent Mr.Major I can't wait until your next one comes out. I also loved Good Peoples if you didn't read it What are You waitng for?
