Summary: Guys Can Be Caring
Review: I loved this book. It held my attention from
beginning to end. I found it especially interesting
reading about cities and small time places that I
identify with.

It is so refreshing that Marcus Major took us into
a guy's outlook on being protective of a woman, instead
of being described as defective as so many guys are
in many books.

The characters were enjoyable and made me want
a few guys to look after my well-being in such a way
as this. Great Read!!

Summary: Try again marcus try again....
Review: This is one of the worst novels I have ever read. the characters are all cardboard sterotypes, the plot is silly and the story goes nowhere. You wil be bored by all the trite and cliched dialogue. A book that is all flash and no substance. Try again Marcus try again.....

Summary: A Must Read!!!
Review: I read this book in approximately TWO days. I could not put it down. It had comedy, drama and romance all into one. This book was recommended to me and I would definitely recommened it to someone else. I looking forward to reading other books by Marcus Major.

Summary: A Great Read
Review: 4 Guys and Trouble is a novel about 4 fraternity brothers who are fulfilling a promise made to one of their dying frat brothers to take card of his sister. In this novel, you will see how each brother deal with their relationship with women and how they interact with the woman they promised to protect.

A great read from an author with a warm heart.

Summary: Good but....
Review: I really enjoyed the book; however, there was too much unnecessary cursing!! While maybe the author felt it necessary to include the excessive four+ letter words to make his point, it did not add value to the storyline. I especially did not approve of the cursing by the so-called little sister, Erika--very distasteful. The storyline portrays the brothers as protectors and big brothers. Personally, I don't know of too many big brothers that allow their little sisters to curse in front of them. The storyline was great and easy to follow, but again COOL IT on the cursing--your audience will probably increase.

Summary: MUST READ
Review: THIS WAS A VERY GOOD READ. IT'S FUN AND SIMPLE. THE CHARACTERS ARE WELL DEVELOPED AND ALTHOUGH THERE WASN'T MUCH OF A PLOT I LOVED THIS BOOK. I LOVED THE BOOK SO MUCH THAT I READ IT TWICE. I WAS JUST AMAZED AT HOW THE MEN IN THE BOOK (COLIN,IBN,MIKE, AND DEXTER) COULD HAVE SO MUCH LOVE FOR ERIKA BUT COULDN'T SEEM TO RECIPROCATE THAT SAME LOVE TO THE LOVERS IN THEIR LIVES. WHAT WAS MORE AMAZING THAN THAT WAS THE LOVE THAT MIKE AND ERIKA SHARED FOR EACH OTHER AND HOW THEY WERE WILLING TO SACRIFICE IT ALL FOR LOVE. IT WAS ALSO NICE TO READ ABOUT FOUR BLACK MEN WANTING TO LOVE, PROTECT AND TREAT A BLACK WOMEN LIKE A QUEEN.

Summary: Funny and Interesting
Review: This book was very funny. I enjoyed this story of male friendships. These guys were really tight as friends can be. They all lead interesting lives to say the least. I was just glad that Ibn's girlfriend finally decided not to settle for less or for what he wanted to give her. I was also happy that Colin found a woman worthy of his love. Colin's girlfriend was too trifling. I enjoyed the scene between Colin's girl and Ibn. Now that was something to cheer about. Now, Dexter was trying his best to do the honorable thing at the expense of his feelings. Even though I am a female, I would have happily told him not to try and marry his girlfriend because of a baby. That makes no sense AND it does not always work. It only ends up hurting the child (the most) in the end. Now all I can say for Mike and Ericka is that they needed to be more open about their feelings and maybe the others would have taken it much better than when they found out later. All in all, this was a wonderful book to read. You have enough drama and laughter to keep the pages turning.

Summary: Very Entertaining
Review: I just finished reading Marcus Majors second book "Four Guys and Trouble", and I really enjoyed it. Majors second book is about four fraternity brothers who play "big brother" to a deceased friend's baby sister. Before I read the book I got the impression that the story was about what happeneds when one of the guys falls in love with the girl, but it's much more than that. The story is about the relationship between the guys. Majors does and excellent job developing the characters this time. My favorite is Ibn. He's the pretty boy you love to hate. I put Ibn in the same catergory as E. Lynn Harris' Basil Henedrson, but Ibn's definitely straight. I highly recommend this book.

Summary: Two guys too many?
Review: As a writer, I read many books for the purpose of examining what it is that people like and how it is that authors deliver what people like. 4 Guys and Trouble is a likable book, with several engrossing passages. Unfortunately, the book takes on so many different facets in the course of telling the story, that if you do not agree in the priority of the plot twists then you find yourself wishing that the book had taken a different turn. The book addresses the life long relationship between four African-American fraternity brothers and the younger sister of the fifth deceased member of the fraternity. These characters are fairly well drawn but I found them pretty typical of the genre. The female characters are the true peculiarity in this book. The main character, Erika (Bunches), tends to be drawn as a complimentary character as opposed to the centerpiece, and her relative shallowness makes it difficult to follow her decisions. I don't blame the author for this in and of it self, so much as I wonder if he could have drawn Erika better had he not been juggling 4 other main characters. Erika fares much better than the other female characters. Almost without exception, these are interesting and compelling characters, however very little time is taken to explore their motivatrions and reasonings. In some ways they are actually more interesting than the primary male characters they are paired with, however they serve merely as foils for the men.

I enjoyed 4 Guys and Trouble for what it was, a reasonable well written book that serves to raise many questions about male-female relationships if it doesn't attempt to answer them.
