Rating: 5 stars
Summary: An emotionally satisfying read.
Review: The Drifter is a grand illustration of the redeeming power of love. The hopes and dreams, the scars and flaws of the characters ring absolutely true. Susan writes with a pen dipped in poetry, and with full understanding of human pain. I loved her lady doctor and her "lost boy" hero. This is a keeper.

Rating: 4 stars
Summary: good, but not great
Review: The emphasis on Carrie resulted in a weak character sketch of Leah. Of course, without Carrie the book probably wouldn't have held up because she was the basis of this story. Instead of the Carrie storyline, I found the murder of the Spanish/or Indian woman's brother or cousin more interesting. I thought it deserved about 4 stars, but more like 3.5. It was still a decent book though and I'll certainly read more by Susan Wiggs.

Summary: Another Wiggs' Triumph!
Review: The opening of this novel set the tone for riveting suspense and quirky humor that I found delightful and entertaining. A warm and wonderful read!

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: It was captivating and the best novel I have ever read
Review: The way Susan grabs the attention of all readers was facinating. She fully described each setting with exquisite detail and made me, the reader, want to know more. It made me dream and understand the trials that Jackson T. Underhill had to face while taking care of himself and both Carrie and Dr. Leah Mundy. Over all, I loved it.

Summary: This was an outstanding book
Review: This books was the first I have read by Susan Wiggs. I plan to read more by her. It was a great book

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: ADVENTURE, ROMANCE, AND A HOT READ!
Review: This is a delightful story set in an unusual locale, Whidbey Island, WA. I read a lot of romances, and I'm happy to say, Leah and Jackson aren't your typical, cliched characters. I'm in awe at this wonderful book and intend to read it again. Ms. Wiggs can count me among her many fans.

Summary: Some Good Authors Write Bad Books
Review: This is the first book of Susan Wiggs' that I've read that did not meet her usual standard of excellence. The story and characters were lethargic and undeveloped. I read half of the book and didn't bother to finish it. If you're contemplating reading this one, skip it and move on to one of her five-star rated books. Wiggs is a worthy author, she just missed the boat on this one.

Summary: This is what true love is all about.
Review: What a beautiful story, beautifully told. Two damaged people who make each other whole. Yes, I cried, but I also cheered in the end. Endearing characters.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: I laughed, I wept, I couldn't put it down!
Review: What more can you ask for in a book--romance, adventure, passion, tragedy, and triumph. One of the best books I've read all year. Leah and Jackson are a wonderful pair, each damaged by the past yet determined to reclaim the future. It's an unusual time frame and unusual setting for a romance, but that made it all the more interesting to me. The wonderful descriptions left me breathless!
