Summary: To Have and To Hold
Review: 'To have and to hold' are words archaeologist Solange Dupree had
virtually pushed to the back of her mind. And there was good reason
to feel that way, or so she thought.

Solange was engaged to a man who wanted to leave a legacy and when he
learns she could not have children he ended the engagement. She divorces
herself of amorous feelings and becomes engrossed in her work. While
on a dangerous trip to Ethiopia, Solange meets insurance investigator
Rupert Giles, and finds a man who fulfills her dreams. Rupert is not
concerned that she has a medical condition, so for Solange love is
renewed and she has a five-carat diamond on her ring finger as evidence
of his love.

But Rupert has a secret, and the repercussions from it could cost them
more than their love, it could end their lives. Solange finds out
Rupert is something other than an insurance investigator, and that
someone is trying to kill her and she is filled with apprehension. When
her ex-fiancé resurfaces, she and Rupert must confront their fear of
never exchanging vows and finding their happily-ever-after.

Again Ms. Sims has blended an excellent combination of science, intrigue
and romance in a way that puts readers on the edge of their seats as
they root for the culmination of an age-old ritual. The story is tender
and erotic, and readers will realize TO HAVE AND TO HOLD has taken
emotional and physical romance to another level. Those familiar with her
writing will not be disapointed and readers new to the fold will enjoy a
sensual tale.

Summary: An incredible book
Review: For those of you familiar with Janice Sims' work, To Have and To Hold is the culmination of her latest series of fast-paced, intelligent and sensual novels. For those of you you haven't had the pleasure, get ready to embark on a thrill ride of a romance.

Rupert Giles and Solange Dupree are back in a hot, sexy and exciting book that you'll want to read in one sitting. Totally satisfactory on all levels, this book is touching and torrid at the same time. As always, Ms Sims vivid dialogue and highly original characters make for a reading experience you won't want to miss.

With every book Ms Sims shows more and more creative power that purs her name at the top of my reading list every time. A note of caution: don't start this book at bedtime because you'll read it straight through the night and get up with bags under your eyes. I certainly did but it was worth it.

Brava!

Summary: PERFECT ENDING TO A PERFECT LOVE STORY
Review: For those of you familiar with Rupert and Solange's somewhat unusual love story in past books as LOVE LETTERS, ALL THE RIGHT REASONS, A SECOND CHANCE AT LOVE, and FOR YOUR LOVE, know not only did Janice Sims give us romance in each of these books, but suspense filled adventures.

The final book, TO HAVE AND TO HOLD offers much of the same, but with a twist. Janice Sims gives us a look at a sensual, steamy (SIZZLIN HOT) side of her writing to the final chapters of Rupert and Solange's story. Introducing us to new characters, Danielle (Dani) and Sidney (which is another story), as well as revisiting some of our favorites, and plenty of suspense.

TO HAVE AND TO HOLD is a wonderful ending to a perfect, somewhat unusual love story. I truly enjoyed every page, and hate that this is the last of Rupert and Solange. I recommend reading TO HAVE AND TO HOLD, and all the previous books.

Good Job, Janice

Summary: Compelling and not-to-be-missed love story!
Review: From the March 2004 issue of Rendezvous Magazine: Dr. Solange DuPree tries to put a comical spin on her visit to her gynecologist and finds this difficult to accomplish especially in the position she has assumed for the examination. She fears that she will have to put her dreams of having a child in the past. Rupert Giles can be very exasperating at times, but Solange feels that it would be unfair to marry him especially since she cannot give him a child. This wonderful duo must work through their personal problems as danger lurks and threatens their lives in this compelling and not-to-be-missed love story. P

Summary: To Have . . . Ought to come with oven mitts!!
Review: I admit it!! I am addicted to Sims' novels and I refuse to recover! Her work is unbelieveably smooth, succinct and full of SIN-sual pleasures, but To Have And To Hold is, without question, the SEXIEST novel that Ms. Sims has written. After the third reading, I confess that I will never be a recovering Sims' novel junkie.

Of course, her work always has an excellent plot, other characters to keep us entertained, mystery to keep us on the edge, romance to make us swoon, twists and unexpected turns to keep us guessing, all hallmarks of a great Sims novel; but what puts the cherry on this icing (please pardon the pun, I really couldn't help myself)is how a man and woman LOVE each other. Not just "LOVE" each other, but HOT! STICKY! XXXX-rated L O V E!! KAN-NI-GIT-A-WITNES?!

Summary: The sexiest book of all times
Review: I have been an avid reader of Mrs.Sims' books for as long as I can remember and I can honestly say that I have never been disappointed to date.To Have and to Hold has to be THE sexiest,MOST loving book of all times.I cried and laughed out loud so much during my read, that my husband took the book away from me.After he finished reading it himself,he returned it.Needless to say,he liked the bathroom scene.P

I have read plenty of books but To Have and to Hold has been a more satisfying read.It lacked nothing. You had your suspense, romance, comedy and the best sex scenes I have ever read. The only thing I hate is to see Rupert,Solange and Desta leave.I have shared this book with co-workers who have also become fans of Mrs.Sims.

It's my opinion that Janice is unrivaled in talent and I think that she deserves whatever awards and praise she receives. All of her books have been wonderful, but To Have and To Hold is in a class of its own.You are not only getting a good book to read, you are developing some kind of relationship with the characters. When I first read To Have and To Hold,I felt the hurt and the anger as well as the joy and love. Each read only got better.Janice is a great person who writes great books and I can hardly wait for the next adventure.

Summary: Another Guilty Pleasure
Review: If you like boring, cookie-cutter contemporary romance novels, then this book is not for you. On the other hand, if you like suspense, action and some of the steamiest love scenes ever written, I suggest you run out and get TO HAVE AND TO HOLD. Janice Sims has been one of my favorite authors for years and she never disappoints me. TO HAVE AND TO HOLD provides twists and turns on every page and keeps the reader on their toes until the very end. I don't want to give away too much of the story but you may want to read it alone or you'll find yourself yelling at certain parts in the book in public like I was! Mrs. Sims is truly deserving of her title "Award-Winning Author" as evidenced by this book and all those prior. I can't wait to see what's in store for 2005.

Summary: To Have and To Hold.......I DO!!!!
Review: It is rare that you find an author that keeps getting better & better with each book. Well, that is definitely the case with Ms. Janice Sims. I simply love this book. I love the way she builds her characters and stories all into one fantastic journey. Very few writers today take the time to actually use some creativity and use great writing skills to create books. But I give credit where credit is due and a true writer is what we have in the midst. All I can do is exhale and shake my head at the thought of what Ms. Janice Sims has up her sleeve to show us next. A job well done Ms. Sims...
