Summary: Daniel MacGregor strikes again!
Review: Daniel MacGregor is a hopeless romantic who wants to see all of his progeny happily married off and producing new heirs to the MacGregor fortune. In "The MacGregor Brides", Daniel does a matchmaking job on three of his granddaughters, which he follows up in this book with similar schemes for his grandsons. He arranges meetings between D.C., an independent artist, and Layna, who is intent on advancing her career at her family's business; Duncan, who runs a gambling riverboat, and Cat, an insecure but independent singer; and Ian, a bright, young lawyer, and Naomi, a bookstore magnate who is just discovering how to have relationships. This book should please Nora Roberts fans.

Summary: You just have to love the MacGregor men
Review: For those who love the MacGregors already, this is a wonderful collection of tales...

For those who don't know the MacGregors: DON'T START HERE! Resist the temptation and buy one of the earlier novels about this family. Try the stories of Daniel MacGregor's children before you try his grandchildren. Not only will you understand Daniel a little better, but Serena, Caine and Alan have much more interesting tales to tell than their children. You'll appreciate "MacGregor Grooms" that much more if you've been introduced to the cast of characters already.

Nice enough read. Nice enough heroes. But begin elsewhere.

Summary: Fabulous
Review: I absolutely loved this book. The MacGregor series is so great, that I can't wait to read these books. I absolutely loved this book, but I will admit, I thought Ian and Naomi's story was a little slow, but it turned out very nicely. I would definitely buy this book and read it again (which I plan on doing) many times over. Nora Roberts has got to be one of the best, if not the best romance novelest ever.

Summary: I like this series very, very much !!
Review: I love geting lost in a really good book especially if it is a story that seems to go on forever (sort of like a soap) anyway, the series is terrific. Buy the book and give it a try.

Summary: Naomi-Ian
Review: I loved the Naomi-Ian story. The reason why I liked this story in particular was because the characters are basically nice, likable (likeable?) people. Sure, Nora Roberts makes the MacGregor's lives too good to be true, and it is a fairy tale in that respect. But, really, the good thing about these characters is that they want the same thing everybody else in life wants, or most people in life want. They just want to share their life with somebody and have children, and enjoy nice things. It's really as simple as that. I liked this story because it just promoted the simple, basic things people like in life. The characters weren't flashy or overly philosophical. They were just fundamentally good people. A lot of times you don't feel like rooting for certain characters in stories because they are mean, or the book makes it look cool to be mean, but in this story, I felt that I could really vote for the main characters. A nice read.

Summary: A disapointing follow-up
Review: I really enjoyed the wit of Macgregor Brides. It was one of the sweetest, yet well written romances that I have read in recent years and was looking forward to continuing with the series. The Macgregor Grooms was nowhere near as entertaining!

It seemed that Nora Roberts was following a formula and simply plugged in names in a set of events that varies only mildly from vignette to vignette. She borrows too much from the previous book as well. Somehow the grandfather seemed more pushy and less doting here as well!

Not really worth your time.

Summary: The MacGregor is back!
Review: In "The MacGregor Grooms," Daniel MacGregor is at his matchmaking again, this time with three of his grandsons, D.C., Duncan, and Ian. All three of them are well aware of The MacGregor's intent, and are determined to stay single.
But when temperamental artist D.C. meets the breathtakingly beautiful and cool Layna, he has trouble thinking of anything but her. Next it's Duncan's turn to take the tumble. This riverboat gambler meets the bewitching Cat Farrell, a woman with the voice of an angel from the harsh streets of Chicago's south side, and ends up head over heels in love. Finally, Ian, the confident lawyer meets Naomi, the shy beauty emerging from her shell. Ian's resolve to remain unattached crumbles in the presence of Naomi, and he finds her utterly irresistible.
No one writes romance like Nora Roberts, and this book is full of the rich characters, family dynamics and passionate romances that make her one of the best authors I have ever read. Sit back, relax, and enjoy your visit with the MacGregors!
