I read The Dominant Blonde while on vacation at the beach this summer, and have read it a second time since then. I enjoyed reading the book because it's a fun book with an interesting storyline, but my husband just called it "fluff." If you are looking for a great way to simply relax and destress, you definitely need to try this book.
Rating: ![4 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-4-0.gif) Summary: Great Read Review: I loved this book! I had read a little snippet in Glamour... or Cosmo... I can't remember. Anyways, I went out and bought it that day. It's a fairly light read and a pretty good plot. Not THE BEST book ever, but definitely worth reading.
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: Great summer reading Review: I recently finished Jennifer Cruisie's Crazy for You and was in need of another fab romance fix--something intelligent, funny and sexy to read at the beach this summer. A friend of mine recommended The Dominant Blonde and even though I'm a not-from-the-bottle brunette (and proud of it), I decided to give it a shot. And I'm glad I did. Charming, endearing Lydia with her low expectations and bad luck with men was someone I could (sadly) relate to. I was really rooting for her on her vacation with boring old Abe. But when Liam showed up, all bets were off. What a hunk! The only regret I have is that I didn't make it to the beach--I kept right on reading through the weekend (it rained nonstop).
Rating: ![3 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-3-0.gif) Summary: Dominant Blonde Review: I think the title of the book over exaggerates the main character's attitude. She is not dominant in anyway but helpless and stupid in many. It's an ok read but didn't quite entertain me.
Rating: ![3 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-3-0.gif) Summary: Cute book Review: Lydia Gold, former social work grad student and current hairdresser, has a real penchant for picking loser boyfriends. She feels like she has finally gotten lucky with Abe, the first man that seems to be more into her than she is into him. When Abe asks her to go on vacation with him, Lydia begins to believe she has finally won the jackpot. This book is the story of their trip to the islands, and the catastrophe that befalls them, and seriously makes Lydia wonder how well she knows her boyfriend. The story starts off a little slow, and gets better after the first couple of chapters. I would recommend it as a light summer read - I picked it up from my sister's room when we went home for the weekend and I needed something to read at night. The writing style is fair, and leaves a little to be desired, but the characters and plot tie together fairly well to a decent conclusion. I tend to base my ratings on a combination of readability and how I feel after I have finished the book. I rated this one a little lower because it took a while to gather my interest, although it did pick up with time. I don't have a strong feeling one way or another about it now that it is done, though. All in all, a cute little book - check it out if you find it on sale or happen to have a copy lying around..
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: It's a Trick! Review: Ooo, what's this? This book is so deceptive. At first, you think it's just the perfect light reading for summer - and it is. It's not long, big type, lots of white space (easy to find your place again after you doze off reading it at the beach!) It seems like a typical girl meets boy book. (And what a boy - one of the best "heroes" I've read in a while.) But wait! Now we get gypsies, Russian gangsters, dubious (but charming) islanders who love to jitterbug! Now there's drama 60 feet under the surface of the ocean! Next you're pondering what we all expect out of our relationships, and ourselves and how our past prevents us from achieving our future. Folks, this book may seem light and fluffy, but it's not. It's a jewel, and you need to read it. Now.

Boy, am I glad I did. Lydia Gold's life isn't perfect. She's a little over weight, has a bad career and many dating disasters. When her current boyfriend, Abe, suggests a Caribbean vacation, Lydia figures he must be ready to pop the questions. Instead she discovers that Abe has embezzled millions of dollars from her family. When Abe doesn't return after a scuba dive, Lydia enlists the help of sexy rescue diver, Liam. Together, Lydia and Liam try to sort out what happened to Abe while fighting a mutual attraction. This book is smart and funny. A great way to spend an afternoon.

Rating: ![1 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-1-0.gif) Summary: Horrible Review: This book ... is poorly written. Alyssa Kwitney's writing style doesn't flow smoothly, thus making this book hard to piece together and read. Many of the characters are undeveloped and many are uneeded. Lydia is a ... immature woman who doesn't know what she wants to do with her life, so she settles for being a "trophy wife" to Abe. Whenever the plot gets weak ... Lydia and Liam have some mind-blowing sex session, followed by either (1) Lydia pigging out on sandwhiches, (2) Lydia saying she lost her birth controll pills, making Liam go on a drinking binge, or (3) Lydia crying out of happiness that she's actually had an orgasm for the first time in her life "without anyone else in the room." What a waste of money.
Rating: ![4 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-4-0.gif) Summary: Fun Sexy Read Review: This book is an easy fun summer read. I particularly liked the way the author told the story from the different perspectives of several of the characters. Making the reader omnipotent creates a suspense that keeps you turning the pages to find out if the characters are going to discover what you know! And I have to admit a major attraction of this book is that this author can really write sex scenes FOR WOMEN! The setting of this book is perfect for a summer read. I took it with me to Disney World and after being exhausted by running around in the heat all I day I still ended up staying up late each night in the hotel trying to get a few more pages in! I'm looking forward to whatever this author writes next!
