Rating: Summary: One of the best I have ever read! Review: This book is wonderful. It is not your standard formula romance book; it is multlayered and very well written. It is a book I reread at least once a year and every time is better. Devon and Merry are wonderful characters but the "supporting cast" are fascinating as well. The story is strong and interesting and makes you want to read it again and again. I wish Sharon and Tom would write a sequel to the book letting fascinated readers know what happened to Cat, Raven and Morgan! If one enjoys historical romance, it doesn't come better than this. I would give it 10 stars if I could!
Rating: Summary: The Best Romance Novel Ever Written Review: This is absolutely my favorite romance novel of all times. It is well written, with interesting and amusing characters. I can't understand why it hasn't been re-released. I've gone through two paperback books and would love to buy it in hardback.By the way, the author is NOT Joanne Lindsey. It is the husband and wife writing team of Sharon and Tom Curtis who are apparently not writing romance at this time. I've found web sites with interviews with her.
Rating: Summary: An utterly enthralling and compelling love story/adventure Review: This is one of my all time favorite romances. All the characters are compelling and I have read and re-read this particular book more times than I can count, but I always re-read it and find myself caught back up in the magical romance and personalities. I keep hoping that the authors will do a sequel with all the characters so I can find out what happens later on!
Rating: Summary: Enchanting...!! Review: This is one of the best Romance novels I've ever read, and believe me, I've read quite a lot! As what others have said "The Windflower" is another pirate-kidnaps-girl story but it's probably the best one in the market you'll ever find! Trust me on this! I love pirate stories and this one is at the top of my list! You'll fall in love with all the characters. I'm actually another fan who's clamoring for a sequel to the book as the two "bad boys" have truly captivated my heart. I was actually hoping that Cat and Merry end up together. Anyways, go buy it, I give it a perfect 5.
Rating: Summary: One of my all time favorites! Review: This is one of the few books that I keep and have re-read. The characters are wonderful. It is a treasure. The worst part is reaching the end and wanting to know what happens with the so-called secondary characters.
Rating: Summary: Cat Rules!
Review: This is one of the few romance novels that totaly haunts me. I have to say that I have Devon's guts. Yup. The guy is a major pain in ..., always accusing the heroine of plotting against him and the other pirates that have kidnapped her (well duh!) etc. Which of course leaves the story open for those who posess trully wonderful personalitites! Like Cat and Raven!! Yay. Both of them are ready to risk their lives just to save her from disaster, both try to keep her safe, and both remain constantly on her side! *Grins*. Cat has a very sad history which you will discover when you read the book, Raven is a teen pirate who has a crush on Merry (I won't say more), and morgan is completely twisted, devious, calous, and the perfect mysterious (yet evil) pirate. I have reread this book time and again, finally noticing that the book improves greatly when you skip over the Devon and Merry scenes and focus on just Merry, Cat and Raven. (Morgan is the most momorable evil character that I have ever read about. He's evil, and yet he's not. One minute you're hating his guts, and the second you realize he did something noble. I will end with just saying that Cat has got to get a story about him, he just has to! He's got the most unique personality. I won't tell you what to do, but I promise that if you choose to read this book, you will enjoy it. :) Happy Reading!
Rating: Summary: One of the greatest romance novel of all time Review: This is one of the greatest romance novel of all time. I have read so many books never before I had felt so involved in the characters life (except in Whitney, My Love, the other greatest romance novel). I felt as if I were right there with Merry when she was first taken captive by Cat and when Devon found her on the island after she escaped. Devon is the perfect hero for her. Also the characters Rand Morgan, Cat, and Raven are wonderful and deserve there on story. I have read it so many times. I remember the first time I read it I could not put it down. I read it in two sitting only because I could not stay awake that night to finish it. I think that anymore who has not read these should and they will not be disappointed.
Rating: Summary: Simply the Best Review: This novel is, quite simply, the most wonderful romance I have ever read. And I've read a lot of them. The delicate, loving touch of these authors with their characters, the genuine tenderness with which they endow them, is unmatched in the genre as far as I am concerned. Merry, Devon, Cat and Morgan live in my mind as few romance characters ever have. I only wish that Sharon and Tom would write another book, though they seem to have fallen off the map in recent years. Sharon and Tom, if you read this, you have one heck of a built-in audience. We love you!
Rating: Summary: Read for every reason other than the hero and heroine... Review: Well-written and interesting book, with a likable heroine. However, the main romance between Merry and Devon bored me to tears. I found myself flipping through the few parts they actually conversed. This is the first romance I've read where the reader gets to know more about a secondary character than the hero--and it's definitely the first romance that I've read where I've hoped the heroine would end up with someone other than the hero. And that someone would have to be Cat, who is the most interesting and lovable character in the book. Cat is beautiful, intense, with an awakening heart and a sad past. He is the one who cares for Merry, shows her kindness, comes to love her, and is always on her side. He is the male character in this book deserving of hero status. It is unbelievable that Merry would fall in love with Devon, who is mean most of the time and barely talks to her, when she is in the constant presence of someone like Cat. Cat deserves his own book...and a heroine who loves the hell out of him!
Rating: Summary: Very, very good book Review: When I picked up this book, I expected to be disappointed. I hate pirate books (many of which are written by people with no idea of what pirates were, let alone what sailing on a ship was like), but I bought it because it was by "Laura London" the pseudonym of Sharon and Tom Curtis. Ten copies later (so I can loan them out) I still read it once or twice a year. The Curtis's have a wonderful quirky command of language that adds piquancy to their well-drawn sympathetic characters. Even the bit-part characters are three dimensional -- the major characters are incredible. If you haven't read this one, pick it up and enjoy the ride.
