Summary: Excellent
Review: I am one of the many that own all of Johanna's books and I must admit this is one of my favorites. From the first chapter this book captured my mind and soul until the last page. I bought this book when it originally came out and still have it and read it, though it is a bit worn. Any new reader of Johanna's that wants to see what the commotion is about should read this book. It is a definite pleaser.

Summary: My Absolute Favorite Romance Novel!!
Review: I have read a lot of romances in my day and this one is my fav! The first time I read it, I loved it so much that I read it again a few days later, b/4 I had to return it to the library! I love both Dimitri and Katherine and their chemistry is unbelievable. It has it all, exotic locals, great sex, and twist in the ending!

Summary: I LOVED THIS BOOK
Review: I HAVE READ MOST OF HER BOOKS AND I THINK THIS IS THE BEST ONE. IT REALLY STANDS OUT FROM THE REST OF THEM.

Summary: Wonderful!!
Review: I LOVED this book and I LOVE Johanna Lindsey. What I want to know is why is a 12 year old child (another reviewer) reading a book meant for an adult audience?

Summary: Secret Fire
Review: I loved this JL book. I cried when she got whipped (The first time I ever cried while reading a book. While Dimitri and Katherine's first encounter may have been a little odd with the aphrodisiac, it was still a good story with memorable characters.

Summary: Its great if you take out the drugging/violent aspects of it
Review: I really enjoyed the romance between Katharine and Dimitri. However, I was very disturbed about her being drugged and getting whipped. I really felt for her, but then I was also mad at her, because she handled everything badly. The first time she was drugged, she should've just told him the whole story, scandal be damned. Katharine was supposed to be a really smart individual, but I was just shaking my head at the actions she took. Also, she forgave him WAY too easily!!!! Dimitri needed to suffer in my eyes, as well as his "aunt" who had her whipped.

Summary: Enjoyable romp
Review: I think this is my favorite book by Johanna Lindsey. Because she's dressed plainly, no one believes Lady Katherine St. John when she protests her kidnapping, and subsequent delivery to the hands of Russian Prince Dimitri.

Dimitri sees something special in Katherine, but it doesn't stop him from taking her from London and sailing to Russia. When he discovers the truth, Katherine has (conveniently) overheard the nasty Russian Princess who's after Dimitri so she goes home, and leaves Dimitri to look for her.

There are a lot of coincidences, and too-perfect timing, and one of my least favorite plot devices: the hero who leaves the heroine in the hands of his evil family. But all in all, this is one of the better Lindsey books.

Summary: A Suprisingly Enjoyable Read!
Review: I've been reading Lindsey's work for a very long time, and although the majority of her novels have been barely worth buying, this is definitely one of her best. Finally, another original. Beyond the intense, sizzling sex scenes of which I have rarely seen the like in writing, the mere fact that an average-appearing woman can win over a man like Dimitri with her personlity is a breakthrough in romance literature. Too often in most cheesey romances, including several of Lindsey's own, do you see a woman's beauty become the only characteristic drawing a hero to her.

By the way, if you're looking for a read that will truly have you laughing out loud throughout the entire novel, try Lindsey's Gentle Rogue. James Malory has always been my favorite hero, and I've still yet to find anyone who disagrees with me after they read the novel. Dimitri in Secret Fire is no James Malory.
