Summary: Just Plain Drama!
Review: This was an excellent fast pace read and I recommend it to other bookclubs.

Baby Momma Drama consists of several Main Characters. Jasmine who is dealing with her Drug Dealer Boyfriend Derrick and his Baby Momma Wendy. Jasmine finds herself falling in love with Dylan while Derrick is in jail but Dylan has drama of his own by dealing with trying to get over his ex-girlfriend Monica. Then there is Travis who is dating Jasmine's sister Stephanie who can't seem to stay away from her baby's daddy Malek. Stephanie risks her securee future with Travis by constantly getting tangled up in lies concerning her relationship with Malek.

Will anyone be happy in the end? Hmmm .... You'll just have to read this hard to put down book. There are so many twists and turns it will have you glued to each page.

Carl Weber has definitely done it again . I am looking forward to the sequel to Married Men in 2004 called Player Haters.

Review: Baby Momma Drama by Carl Weber

Carl Weber is dubbed by many as the King of Drama, and after reading his third book Baby Momma Drama, I am inclined to agree. Have you ever given any thought to what "Baby Momma Drama" entails? If not, you need to read Carl Webers latest. Each character offers us a different insight into "Baby Momma Drama."

Baby Momma Drama # 1- Jasmine is currently dating Derrick the drug dealing roughneck who fathered a baby with his ex, Wendy. Jasmine finds herself making decisions that are morally incorrect for her out of fear of losing her man to his Baby Momma. In the end, she is pushed over the edge.

Baby Daddy Drama # 2- Stephanie has a good man willing to be
the "Baby Daddy" but she cannot stay out of her daughters Baby Daddys boxers. She certainly finds it easy to put her man's needs on the back burner, though.

Momma Drama # 3-Big Momma, grandmother to Jasmine and Stephanie can jump-start more drama than a little bit. She is meddling and always trying to bully her way into her grand daughters lives.

Mixed with all this drama is a whole lot of sex and spontaneous
decisions that have lasting repercussions. A baby is born into
horrible circumstances, and Jasmine unwillingly finds herself back in "Baby Momma Drama" but in a different light. Wendy and Derrick wind up in the big house doing big time.

Carl Weber did an excellent job of delivering a story filled with drama that was not only believable but also entertaining. I enjoyed hearing the male perspective on drama. If you like reading the drama of characters whose actions are consistent and not so far out there, then this is the next book you should be reading.

Summary: Surprised...
Review: I have to give this author credit. Judging from the title, I would've never read this book cause I thought it was going to be super tacky with a talk show mentality. But I read "Player Haters", enjoyed the way he writes, and decided to read this book. Although there was some major drama, I liked the fact that he pointed out that women aren't perfect either. I get tired of reading the books about how the men dog the women. I like it when we get an unbiased view of how both sexes can be TERRIBLE and equally scandalous. Although I rolled my eyes and screamed "Leave him/her alone" atleast twenty times in several chapters, the characters were uncomfortably realistic and the plot was totally believable. Big Momma got on my nerves, but then again, I know so many "Big Momma" real life people, a few Jasmines, way too many Stephanies, and a couple Maleks too. If you're interested in entertainment, real life situations, drama, and underlying logic, you'll like this book.

Summary: STRAIGHT UP DRAMA
Review: This story is basically about two sisters and their relationship drama with lovers and baby momma/daddy. Jasmine has rose colored glasses on when it comes to her boyfriend Derrick who is a drug dealer who she trys to be commited to for the 3 years he is locked up. That is where Dylan comes in who, by the way, has a hell raising person in his life. Dylan is a nice guy. Stephanie is your stereotypical project gal until she meets a nice guy. She has a child by another guy named Malek. Malek causes all kind of drama. Will Stephanie let her baby's daddy come between her new relationship? You'll have to read it. This book is just filled with twists and turns and relationship drama. Jasmine wants to trust Derrick, but is he worth it? Dylan loves his X, and then meets Jasmine. What will happen? Stephanie is in many ways battling between her past life and what she wants for her future. I read this book in 2 days. It is full of DRAMA!!

Summary: Pages Readers Group Reviews "Baby Momma Drama"
Review: We picked this book because we had read and enjoyed two of Mr. Weber's previous novels, "Lookin' for Luv," and "Married Men." "Baby Momma Drama," was an easy, entertaining read with a relentless amount of drama from the first to the last page. It was filled with the characters we love to hate; the selfish, scandalous, smutty, trifling, bossy, naïve and unnecessary. And even though the characters lacked any depth, we were forced to keep reading just to see if any of them would redeem themselves in the end. We hate to say it, but one of the best things about the book was that Mr. Weber provided questions at the end, which lead us to a hilariously interesting discussion. Two Stars only. Ummm maybe we'll reread "Lookin' for Luv."

Summary: Like never before
Review: This is definitely a drama filled novel. Carl does deliver well in this area with realistic tales of everyday characters one might encounter or even exhibit similar behavior patterns in everyday life. The women in the novel are strong characters that I find myself referring to as the protagnist, because both Stephanie and Jasmine were coming from selfish places when it came to dealing with the men in their lives and other aspects as well. Much has been said about this novel and it has received raving reviews. Carl has done well to entertain, but this read lacks the simulation I desire in read, there is no profoud lesson that stands out. Although Stephanie did some soul searching it was brushed over and underdeveloped.

Summary: 5 Stars? I think not!
Review: There are very few books that deserve 5 stars because that implies that the book is perfect and can not be improved upon. Conversely there are few books that warrant 1 star because that implies that the book has no redeeming value. However in light of the overwhelmingly excessive perfect reviews this book received, for balance I will only give it one star. Let's face it: Baby Momma Drama isn't exactly intellectual stimulation. You're not going to become enlightened and it's hardly thought provoking. It's not going to stand besides the works of Morrison, Joyce, Orwell, and Baldwin as a literary masterpiece. In essence it's a light, fluffy, readable book that can be enjoyed for it's rapid pace and ever popular (if somewhat overdone) subject matter.
