Rating: Summary: Kitty Cats can be Pleasurable! Review: This book was not my usual genre. For a person who loves Regency and Historical Romance, it was far outside my normal experience. There was much to like about this story. Gian was wonderfully sexy and Jenise was spirited enough to complement him. I liked the way the alien worlds were described and the way I was able to pick up the customs from the conversations and character's adventures. I felt the storyline had too many leads into other novels that have either been published or are future releases, even at the author's insistence the books are designed to stand alone. Too many unfinished thoughts and tales from Jenise's fear of power to the injured familiar left behind, to Karpon and the debilitating drug. I wouldn't mind Gian purring in my ear for a long long time, but "The Incarnation" was a bit over the top. I'm afraid if I was Jenise, we would both be fated to grow old - a body can only take so much! Even with the things about the book that bothered me, I can recommend it for those who like an amusing fantasy and I may even indulge in another purely for the fun of it.
Rating: Summary: I'm still amused..... Review: Ok... I hate romances... really, I hate them. Or, I thought I did. I was spending the weekend with a friend and had (unusually) forgotten to bring a book along to read before bed. I was very VERY hesitant to borrow one of hers, as she seems to only read romance novels. My experience with them in the past has been that they are generally full of static characters that can't string a complete sentence together, raunchy sex scenes and little to no plot. My friend handed me this one, laughing at the repulsed expression on my face and said "I promise, you'll like this one." So, seeing as how there really was nothing else to read, I gave it a shot... and then couldn't put it down. The characters were actually well developed, the plot wasn't based around their sexual acts, rather their sexual acts seemed to be a result of the plot. The banter between the characters often had be laughing out loud. Even if you are like I once was and think all romance novels should be piled up in the street and burned for rubbish, give this one a shot. It was good enough that I actually borrowed the rest of the series, read them, and enjoyed them as well.
Rating: Summary: Wow! Wow! and More Wow! Review: This book was great! I read the 2nd of this series first (Rejar) and liked it enough to buy the other two. I have now read all three and this one is my favorite. Not only do I find Dara Joy a master of sensual writing, I also am quite taken with her vision as far as the sci-fi aspect of these tales. Familiars. Gee, I wish I'd had that idea. They sound absolutely delicious. Where else, but in a Dara Joy romance would you actually believe that there is a race of gorgeous men who would die horrid deaths rather than be untrue to their mates. I am now waiting with baited breath for Traed's story (even though he isn't Familiar). I think I would rate the four men of these three novels in this order: Traed (be still my heart), Gian Ren, Lorgin and Rejar. I do however, wonder about the poor, wounded man in Mine to Take. What of Dariq (or however you spell his name)? Will the kindly old lady nurse him back to health? Will he be physically or emotionally scarred for life? What exactly happened to him anyway? Was he beaten, drugged? What strong woman will be able to heal his heart? And will he find his way back to Aviara? Please Ms. Joy, give me Traed's and Dariq's stories. Hurry, Ms. Joy! I can't wait much longer.
Rating: Summary: WONDERFULLY EROTIC AND PUURRFECTLY SEXY Review: THIS IS THE ONE OF THE BEST BOOKS I'VE READ. IT IS MY FAVORITE IN THE SERIES. FOR SOME REASON GIAN MAKES ME SHIVER, HE'S SO SENSUAL AND STRONG. I WOULD HAVE LOVED TO HAVE A PICTURE OF GIAN'S FAMILIAR SELF ON THE FRONT COVER (LIKE REJAR DID). I THOUGHT THE LOVE SCENES WHERE EROTIC AND EXCITING, ALTHOUGH A BIT LONG. AFTER READING THIS BOOK I HAD TO READ REJAR AND KNIGHT OF A TRILLION STARS. ALTHOUGH I READ THE BOOKS BACKWARDS, MINE TO TAKE THEN KNIGHT OF A TRILLION STARS AND FINALLY REJAR, I FOUND THEM COMPLETELY ENTHRAWLING. THE STORY IS EASY TO FOLLOW AND COMPLETELY FUTURISTIC. I WOULD LIKE FOR MS. JOY TO CONTINUE TO WRITE THE SERIES, AS I NEVER WANT IT TO END. I FEEL LIKE I'M VISITING FRIENDS EVERY TIME I RE-READ THE SERIES. (IN ORDER THIS TIME). ALTHOUGH I WOULD EXTREMELY LIKE IT IF TRAED HAD A HAPPY ENDING OF HIS OWN! HE DESERVES ONE. MAYBE A MOTHERING TYPE OF WOMAN WHO CAN GIVE HIM THE LOVE AND CARING HE NEEDS. BUT I THINK MINE TO TAKE WOULD STILL BE MY FAVORITE OF THEM ALL. EXCELLENT STORYLINE, SEX, AND CHARACTERS. DARA JOY IS TRUELY A ROMANCE NOVELIST PRINCESS!
Rating: Summary: This book deserves ten stars at least!! Review: I LOVED this book! It's one of my favorites. This book is so hot it sizzles!! I was hooked from page one, I couldn't put this book down it was so good!!! I recomend this book to anyone who likes their romances hot and spicey!!!!
Rating: Summary: When is the next one?!?! Review: I just finished the book and wanted to pass along to anyone who was considering buying it to snatch it up immediately. The book flowed and the story line was actually better than the bed scenes. (and they were great) The fantasy/futuristic theme was food for my imagination. Don't miss it. I cannot wait for the story line to continue...
Rating: Summary: Great book...terrible title Review: This book is the third in her Matrix of Destiny series but can be read alone. This is another of Dara Joy's super hot romances with a sexy male lead and great fantasy setting. I loved this book but I really think that the title and cover are a bit misleading because it looks like she's into bondage or something. This book is a favorite of mine that I can always reread if I can't find anything else that looks good.
Rating: Summary: I liked it, a lot. Review: I am a fan of Dara Joy, for the most part. There are some things that were very unclear to the reader and you had to go back and search for parts that made them clear. But all in all this was a very good book.
Rating: Summary: Mine to Take Review: I've read all three books Of Dara Joy ,involing Yaniff the Charl warriors Lilac Rejar etc. I also notice in the book High Energy that Yaniff is mention there . With hope Dara Joy brings these characters back I would really like to know what has happen to Traed and Rejar now that he has the tenth power. These books were fun to read, I've enjoy all of Dara Joy's books and sadden there aren't more.
