Summary: Fun and sexy!
Review: This is the start of a new series which starts with Madeline the duchess finding out her father lost herand all her belongings in a card game. While going to confront her betrothed, she discovers that her father is going to play cards again while betting a precious heirloom. She trades places with her companion, Eleanor, and goes to the cardgame. I laughed out loud seeing her try to behave like a companion, and take orders from other people because Madeline is a real know-it-all. Her former fiancee is at the game, too, and he immediately plans to win her back and defeat the villain who is hosting the game. It's like an English house mystery, with everyone sneaking around at night while during the day, they pretend everything is completely normal. Of course, the sex was hot and steamy. I read the book in one sitting!

Summary: wonderfully entertaining
Review: This story of a love/hate relationship between Madeline and Gabriel will keep you reading until you finish the book. I couldn't put it down. All the characters were fabulously developed and colorful and it was packed with more than enough action to satisfy. Christina Dodd paints such vivid pictures with her words that the reader is transported into the house party and feels involved in the entertainment and the intrigue. Beware the surprise ending. A lovely romance filled with twists and turns that will keep you tied up in learning and loving the characters. You will finish this book in one sitting and then read it all over again.

Review: This was the first Christina Dodd book I've read. The story of Madleine and Gabriel had me hooked from the first page. I found my self not able to put the book down. What a wonderful book to start with. I'm looking forward to reading all the other books Christina Dodd has written.
