Summary: Absolutly Charming-thumbs up to Sandra Hill
Review: She's done it again!! This was not my first Sandra Hill novel, I had read The outlaw viking and found Mrs.Hills writing style refreshing, so when I found The last viking I grabbed it up and I was not dissapointed. If possible I was even more impressed with Mrs.Hill, she is a wonderful storyteller and bring just the right amout of humor to make you laugh AND cry!!

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: A Wonderfully Funny Viking Romance
Review: THE LAST VIKING is an incredible mix of humor and romance against the background of modern day Maine, with some wonderfully authentic Norse history thrown in. This book is at times poignant, and at others, laugh-out-loud funny. Highly recommended!

Summary: Page-turning humor kept me coming back for more...
Review: The ONLY romance novels I read are by Sandra Hill, due to their delightful, humorous and real character development. The spirtited playfulness and endearing qualities of her vikings are magical and The Last Viking is by far my favorite. I hope she can write a new book a month, at least! I can't get enough of them.

Summary: Clever situations, Flat characterisations
Review: There was a lot of potentially interesting and funny situations in the story, but, the main character in particular often did not respond to what was going on. If you tell a funny joke and nobody laughs its not as funny.

Summary: Alright
Review: This book did have some funny parts to it. Although I really don't think it was all that good. The story seemed to just flow along taking too long. Hill probably could have managed to cut out 50 pages or better. It will keep your interest, it's not boring, but there are better time travels out there. I did lend my copy out but clearly stated that it was an ok read not horrible.

Summary: Oooh La La
Review: This book was a delightful surprise. To be honest, I wasn't expecting to enjoy this one as much as I did her other time travels because of the fact that I usually like it better when it's a modern day heroine going backward in time, rather than when the story's about a man from the far-away past coming forward to the future.

Typically in romance, whenever someone from the past comes forward, you get those kind of books that waste scene after scene watching the time traveler freak out the first time they see a lightbulb, and then a shower, and then a car, and god forbid if they see an airplane. Then, of course, we know what's coming next...the hero will feel obliged to take his sword to the offending modern conveniences. Microwaves will be rendered useless, cars will be taken apart, furniture will be used as kindling...<sigh> Scenes like these are funny *once*, then they become a dead bore.

Hill shies away from this overdone scenario nicely, yet in a way that still makes the hero come off as a believable time traveler. After all, any time traveler would be bound to be somewhat in awe of the gadgets of the future. Hill gives him the awe without hitting you over the head with it.

This book was hilarious from start to finish and quickly became one of my favorite Hills. Although I've enjoyed all of Hills novels at a 4-5 star level (except for "Love Me Tender" and "The Reluctant Viking"), the only other contender this book had with me is "The Love Potion". They are both irresistibly funny and sexy, making it hard for me to decide which was better...

Summary: What a Hoot!
Review: This is a thouroughly enjoyable book! I frequently found myself laughing out loud. Rolf's reaction to modern day 'boxes,' his admiration of Tim Taylor's Tool Time, and his misinterpretation/mispronunciation of names and words were all delightful. A well written humorous book--what more could you ask for?

Summary: The Last Viking...
Review: This is my first book by Sandra Hill and I love it! Its a good book and I am looking forward to read her next book 'truly, madly viking'

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Hoping it is NOT the Last Viking book...
Review: This is not one of the 4 book Viking Series but I liked it just as well. No other author can hold a candle to Sandra Hill and her Viking stories. A worthy read.
