Rating: Summary: wonderful love story Review: I started reading this book and could not put it down. I found it to be such a touching story, it was all I could think of while I was at work. Rolf and Merri-death are made for each other!!!!
Rating: Summary: Darling!!! Review: I was in the mood for a change of pace from my usual historical romance books and picked this one up in the bookstore the other day. I am so glad I did! Rolf the hot viking has had a time travel experience from the 10th to the 20th century. He is the most adorable thing I have ever read on a page. He falls in love with Merry-Death (meredith), how cute! but tries to find a way back to his own time to fulfill a promise he made to his father. Merry-Death fights her very intense feelings for Rolf and finally lets go of her inhibitions and goes for it. I thought this book was totally awesome! Every other word that came out of Rolf's mouth was histerically funny. I highly recommend this book even if you are not into time travels. It is refreshingly different and totally enchanting!
Rating: Summary: Romance reading at its best! Review: If you liked the movie Starman, you will love this book. If you like to smile while you read, you will love this book. If you like a story to bring a tear to your eye, you will love this book. If you like sex scenes that sizzle, you will like this book. What else can I say? This is romance reading at its best.
Rating: Summary: What a good time I had reading this treasure!!!! Review: Like all of Sandra Hill's viking stories, this book is packed with humor and romance. I found myself laughing out loud on the subway to work while enjoying this time travel tale. Ms Hill's changed the time travel direction to modern day. I wasn't sure if I was going to like that being a historical romance fan. It's great! This books was just pure entertainment and I can't wait to start on Truely, Madly Viking to see how this viking is going to handle the new world. You're going to enjoy this book!

Rating: Summary: Not really drawn into story Review: Meridith was utterly boring and dimwitted and I found no real reason for Rolf to be drawn to her. Nearly 100 pages of prudish resistance gets dull fast. On a good note I did like Sandra's easy writing style. The words flow from the page without the jerkyness of some writters trying to be too poetic.
Rating: Summary: Dubious Suspension of Reality! Review: Ms. Hill's Viking romance was decently researched (a good surprise) but not true to the feel of the Viking world. While I realize that her intention was to be entertaining rather than realistic, I must be at least a little disgruntled-- what a waste for me as a reader not to be completely thrown back into the Viking Age with her good research! I crave a serious Viking romance, for once!
Rating: Summary: Witty, With a Twist Review: No one can honestly claim that Sandra Hill has not done her Viking research. I have read several of her books and found each one to be well-researched in the Viking culture. There is a lot of humor throughout this book (I'll never look at a bottle of Breck shampoo the same way again), and Rolf & Merry-Death belong together! I enjoyed the little twist on time travel here. Instead of the heroine traveling back through time and learning to live without electricity and indoor plumbing, the hero comes to the future! His struggles to acclimate himself in the here and now are fun to read about. This book touches your heart. This was the best Viking book I have read by Sandra Hill. Keep them coming!

Rating: Summary: Best Viking Story! 5 stars!!! Review: Rolfe(the Viking) was propelled by accident from the tenth century-997 into the twentieth century-1997. His ship was sunk near Greenland and he washed up on the shores of Maine. He found himself in a whole different world. This is where he meets up with Meriedith, a tenth century-Viking researcher who works at the college nearby. Rolfe is fasinated at the way things have changed in a thousand years and soon has you rolling on the floor laughing with the things that he does and the things that happen to him and Merry-Death(this is how he pronounces her name) LOL...Sandra Hill is an excellent writer and she is kinda new to me still, but she already my favorite writer now. She has a witty and unique sense of humor I have never in my life read before. She has a way of making her heros so sexy and so sweet, yet so masculine you find yourself wishing these men were real. Her heroines are always strong and funny. 'The Last Viking' is a must for those who love timetravel romance and those who love comedy. The story is moving and I found myself crying and laughing. Rolfe is sexy and hysterical and you will love the way he handles himself in the twentieth century. Things we take advantage of in our modern world he finds amazing and the story makes you think more about your own life and surroundings. There is a sequel to this story about his brother Jorund, it's called "Truly, Madly Viking". Both are 5 star reads! Tracy Talley~@
