Summary: All Good
Review: I find this book nearly impossible to put down, even though I've read it several times! You have to suspend your disbelief through parts of the story, but you truly believe that JD and Dru have an attraction that is unstoppable. I look forward to reading many more of Susan Andersen's books.

Summary: Anderson's "All Shook Up"
Review: I found "All Shook Up" a little disappointing. This, however, is because I was comparing it to one of Susan Anderson's earlier novels entitled "Baby I'm Yours." So far, her latest two books just haven't lived up to it. But on the scale of good and bad books, "All Shook Up" definitely passes with flying colours. There is something to be said about Anderson's writing which is very attractive. She writes with humour and candour, which I find rare in the romance genre. So many authors simply cannot write, or get caught up in the research that their end product reads like a boring dissertation. I simply cannot believe the amount of garbage which gets published. This, however, is not the case with Anderson!

Summary: Terrific story!
Review: I have read most if not all of Susan Andersen's books, and loved each one. This one was good, if a bit different from the others. Her characters are believable, the story lines hold your interest, and the locations are realistically protrayed. This one lacked some of the humor the others have, but was still very funny in many spots. A good read. I recommend.

Summary: Bad Boy + Good Girl = Sizzling Romance
Review: I love the bad boy-good girl romance theme. JD is a sexy alpha male from the wrong side of the tracks. Dru is a just a small town girl who's made the mistake of loving and trusting too much in the past. Deep down, J.D. doesn't think he's good enough for Dru, so he tries to fight the attraction he feels for her. But, as all devoted romance novel readers know, that can't last long! Soon the sparks are flying in more ways than one and they can't keep their hands off one another. I like Andersen's original way of describing the attraction her protagonists have for one another (as when J.D. first sees Dru and instinctually thinks, "Want it"). It makes you wish that there were more "bad boys" like J.D. in real life!

Definitely a one-night read.

Summary: Vintage Andersen -- funny, sexy, and sweet...
Review: I loved Susan Andersen's other books, so I was eagerly awaiting ALL SHOOK UP. I was not disappointed - in fact, I didn't want it to end!

J.D. Carver is spoiling for a fight when he arrives at the Star Lake Lodge. His best friend back in Seattle has put him in a very uncomfortable position, and J.D. is having trouble believing that his former mentor, Edwina, had no sneaky ulterior motive in leaving him part ownership in the lodge in her will. Drucilla Lawrence is not only the manager of the lodge, but she also practically grew up on the property with her Aunt Sophie and Uncle Ben. Now, she sees it as a secure place to raise her son, Tate. She does not welcome the idea of a newcomer into her sanctuary, no matter how good his suggestions are or how mind-numbingly attractive he is. Star Lake is a small town - residents (and readers!) can just sit back and watch the sparks fly between these two stellar leads!

J.D. and Dru are two people who have deep-seated emotional problems, but recognize that love is worth any amount of risk. J.D. has never had a reliable source of emotional support in his entire life, and it's heartwarming to watch his reactions to Dru's lively, happy, caring, and unconventional family. Dru fashioned a support system for herself, but is still self-conscious and uneasy around the idea of commitment. The way J.D. changes her outlook on this aspect of her life and relationships is terrific.

With ALL SHOOK UP, Andersen delivers a style of writing consistent with her previous works: snappy and funny without skimping on deeper emotions and passion. She's taken a disparate set of characters - "bad" city boy, "good" country girl - and brought them together in such a way that readers can see their similarities. It's not a case of opposites attract; it's about soul mates finding one another.

ALL SHOOK UP is a meaty, satisfying read, one I'd recommend to both old and new fans of Andersen.

Summary: She really writes well
Review: I read this book with great delight from the beginning to end. The story, the characters and the way of writing and delighting the reader are all first class.

It is the first book I read by Susan Andersen but prompted me to order other books by her also. This book stands out from the flock. I'll soon begin to read it again. It is that kind of book.

Summary: Enjoyable Read
Review: I really enjoyed this book and managed to read it within 24 hours. The characters were very well put together and the sex scenes were exciting. Although this novel was a typical "Harlequin Romance" type of novel, it was fun and I'm still thinking about the characters today. I wished the books had not ended and I wish there was a continuation of the story.

Summary: Fun, Fast read
Review: I really enjoyed this book. I thought it was fun and fast paced. The dialogue between the lead characters was witty and I liked how J.D. interacted with Dru's son Tate. I don't think it was the typical "Bad Boy, Good Girl" plot. J.D. was not really a bad boy he just had some hard knocks as a young boy and Dru was hardly your typical good girl. She had a child when she was not married and was trying to do what was right for her son in a small town. I also liked the fact that Dru's Aunt and Uncle had a great relationship with a sex life which most authors don't let people over 45 have. The one thing I found a little off was the bad guy. Butch seemed so one-dimensional and I could not understand why he would do some of the things he did to his best friend. Overall though I thought the book was great and I would recommend it for a lazy afternoon. One other thing, I thought it was interesting that Dru's initials were just the opposite of J.D's. (Drucilla Jean)

Summary: All Right Susan!
Review: I really love Susan Andersen. I can't help it. No matter what kind of day I'm having, I can manage to sink into one of her stories like I do into my favorite chair. I look forward to ripping open my Amazon.com box and tearing into each new novel. Her characters are always fun and quirky , and seem to share a sometimes off-kilter sense of humor. 'All Shook Up' is no exception. I loved Dru. Here, we finally have a single mom who doesn't drone on for page after page about how life handed her the fuzzy end of the lollipop.Unwanted by her own parents, and forced,at 19, to raise a child on her own, Dru loves her son to pieces, and faces each day with a smile and a positive outlook. And J.D.? Oh,well. Ladies, how could you not love a guy who lives in faded jeans, crisp white T-shirts and has the shoulders of a football player?? Susan Andersen has done it again. This book is a bit lighter in tone than 'Present Danger', but still completely enjoyable. Her stories always make me smile. And isn't that the point of romantic fiction?
