Summary: What a great book!!!
Review: "All Shook Up" was right up my alley as far as fun books go. Drucilla and J.D. swore they had no attraction to each other. Boy...were they wrong. Put Tate and Ben and even Sophie into the picture and J.D. was doomed from the start. I especially loved when Char and Kev decided to end their long-standing rift.

Summary: Great Read
Review: Although I write romance, I don't normally read it, but after reading an article about Ms. Andersen in RWR, I thought I'd check her out. I love her sense of humor and the quirkiness she brings to her characters. Very good read!

Summary: Amusing, but predictable
Review: An amusing lighthearted romance, but nothing to get excited about.

Summary: A romantic comedy that rocks with honest emotions
Review: Drucilla Lawrence is possessive about her new-found security as the owner of Star Lake Lodge - and even more so with her son, Tate. It all crumbles with the arrival of her unexpected partner J.D Carver, who inherits his share of the property from Great Aunt Edwina. Her aunt Sophie and Uncle Ben has done some snooping and finds out that J.D has a rough past toughing out on the streets. There will naturally be some friction what with J.D's paranoia about the ardent Lawrence gang - but what he fails to anticipate is the spark of attraction towards Dru. The banters and sexual innuendoes are enough to drive him crazy but not enough to abandon his logic. The betrayal in his past makes him retreat from love; the Disney-que family warmth enshrouding him since he arrived makes him cringe with cyncism. It is a life that he has sworn off with his sordid past. Dru realizes that J.D is the man for her and she is determined not to let him go, however when a sabotage endangers the Lawrence clan, J.D believes he is responsible for bringing them here, he is all the more disillusioned and believes that leaving Dru might be the best option for them....

You may wonder why Susan Andersen's latest is a sensation as a top pick for RT and Amazon editors with its uninspired story plot. It is straight-forward storytelling with delicious chemistry between the studly, muscle-bound J.D and the sassy Dru. Yet its unpretentiousness and honest emotions may shook you raw - J.D's reservations towards the kindness stems from an insidious betrayal where Aunt Edwina accused him wrongly of a theft. In the later part of the novel, he finds himself too impetuous, unheeding of edwina's apologies. His pride and tenderness makes him an endearing hero. Dru's initiative in taking her own happiness into hands is refreshingly independent and laudable. She is not afraid of getting scarred, so long as she convinces J.D of her love. Their love is a triumph especially when J.D undergoes an agonizing lesson of accountability and letting someone to brave the storms together.

The charms of witty quips and sexy banters aside, ALL SHOOK UP strums with heartfelt passion between flawed characters. No doubt the storyplot is obsolete, but for a romantic comedy, it shakes the readers up with enlightening maturity on simple values of responsibility and forgiveness. The exquisite tenderness in the epilogue is an emotional rollercoaster ride. It will send you tremors even in its aftermath - and it's that good.

Summary: Predictable - Appealing if this is what you like.....
Review: From reading the other reviewers comments, I see that
Susan Andersen is a well loved writer. I picked this book
up not because I expected any fancy writing - I simply
wanted to be entertained.

I enjoyed the story - but it was a bit too predictable for
me.

My favorite aspect of the story was Dru's imperfections
(she talks about her perceived physical flaws such as being
too round) which are exactly the physical attributes that
JD enjoyed thoroughly.

It was a page turner, though, I got through it very
quickly - and it was better than another romance
novel I read in the same week.

I also thought the title didn't fit the storyline.

Check this one out if you want light reading, are
ok with pretty much knowing what is coming around
the corner and enjoy a touch of light erotica among
the romance.

Summary: all boring all the time
Review: Haven't read Susan Andersen before, and based on All Shook Up, won't read her work again. She has only the one plot device -- instant animosity followed by consuming lust -- which she uses with both sets of protagonists! Her plot is so predictable I knew from page 1 what was going to happen. Her characters are shallow, undefined, and unbelievable. Her lead character uses sex to get her male employees to do what she wants, which is totally insulting to all women...Frankly, this was boring, insulting, juvenile, and NOT SEXY.

Summary: Classic take on badboy gets goodgirl....with a twist...
Review: I am never disapointed when I pick up a Susan Andersen book, they are always filled with funny, heartwarming and some very sexy scenes that will make your face blush. 'All Shook Up' was no exception. Not as much action as I expected from her other books, but this one had alot of sweeter moments that some of the other lacked a bit. This is also a classic 'beach book' with the fast-paced dialog and storyline that will keep you turning the pages for more. And as always, her male leads are gorgeous and she seems to have that knack of getting to the nitty gritty of what women find sexy, he he he....

~J.D. Carver his lived his life learning hard lessons on the streets and from people he thought he could trust. The latest? An unexpected inheritance from a woman he hadn't spoken to in almost 15 years. He finds himself going to Star Lake, Washington part out of curiosity and partly remembering the past there that drove him to Seattle so many years ago now.
Getting there he learns he is now part owner of the lodge that takes in tourists year-round and is skeptical of the family that owns the other half. For they are relatives of the woman who drove him away 15 years ago. Expecting trouble and ready to deal them a punch, he is side-blinded by a woman named Dru.

Dru has no time for anything but her ten-year-old son and trying to finally get rid of her badgirl reputation that has followed her for ten years. But now, the ultimate badboy wearing form fitting white T-shirts and comfortable jeans and sexy as sin eyes and body has just walked into her life. He calls himself J.D. and has just inherited the other half of the lodge. Dru does not need this...this 190 pounds of testosterone walking around her all day, teasing and tormenting her until she thinks she will jump his bones! To makes matters worse, other than he doesn't trust ANYONE and thinks EVERYONE is out to get him, her son seems to hero-worship him.
J.D starts to think that maybe his life has taken a good turn for once and maybe perhaps he can have a stable life...until one of his former life's 'problems' comes rearing its ugly head and he knows bringing Dru and her son into his life was a mistake. People like him, orphan throwaways with nothing,no one and bad pasts did not diserve a woman like Dru or a life like hers. He must decide to sever his old ties for good and life a new life with Dru, or to go back to the streets and never see her again, he knows he can't keep both. The trouble is, can he love again? Can he trust again? Enough to start over? He's going to try, even if it gets him killed.

Summary: All Good
Review: I find this book nearly impossible to put down, even though I've read it several times! You have to suspend your disbelief through parts of the story, but you truly believe that JD and Dru have an attraction that is unstoppable. I look forward to reading many more of Susan Andersen's books.
