Summary: Could have been better, but not by much.
Review: It took too long to get the main characters together. Once you started to read the book you could tell right away who the lovers would be and it just too long to get the two together. Also, there wasn't enough parts where he would come to her rescue or she would come to hers. But, there was excellent discription of everything from what everyone was wearing to what the lovers felt when they looked at eachother. Jude has an excellent ability to discribe everything without overdoing it and making it boring.

Summary: A good read
Review: Jude Devereaux is rarely dissapointing, and this book is no exception. It is a cute love story. The characters have their differences and squabble...but it is not ridiculous as some novels can be. Some parts of this book will make you laugh out loud; it is very engaging. The characters are human enough to relate: Jude really makes you like them.

I gave this book 4 stars because it was well-written, but the plot tended to be a bit outrageous at times. It was a quaint novel- but by no means the best romance novel I've ever read.

Summary: To Die For!
Review: My absolute favorite of all her books! I cried at the end, both from the ending and from not wanting the book to end. I could only hope someday to inspire that reaction from a reader! Jamie is divine and Axia is the luckiest!

Summary: A KEEPER
Review: My first book by Ms. Devereaux was VElvet promise, and I loved it. But I have to say that this one is by far the best. No strange plot, cruel villains. Only a fun and sweet story. I love all Montgomerys, but Jamie has something special. He is caring and sweet. And Axia is not a typical heroine. She is smart but at the same time innocent. And, well all characters are great. My favourite of course is Tode.
The book starts with a funny scene between Jamie and his sisters, you will LOL. And the love scene between Jamie and "Diane" is beautiful. If you need a book for a long winter afternoon you will be not disapointed. My only regret is that is too short, but it worths your money. I hope Frances will have her own story she is a nice girl after all.

Summary: Adventure/Laughter/Romance!
Review: Never did I imagine that a good romance novel could also be a comedy. I laughed so hard in this book at the many funny scenes! The adventure was great and the romance steamy. It was absolutely one of my all time favorites and I loved all the characters.

Summary: The Heiress
Review: O-mi-gawd..... Never have I wanted a Montgomery man to myself so badly, and after reading several Jude Deveraux books, including A Knight in Shining Armor (Didn't offer much of a conclusion for me) and The Duchess, among others, I can't decide if I want James or the "Vellie" of many decades later. Does it matter? Sadly, not!

I have to say though, the bood was great but there were some few confusions for me, which just might be confusions.

Jamie is said to be a Norman knight on the cover, and I always associated Normans with King Richard the Lionhearted (There is also a Richard mentioned when the characters speak of making perfume near the end)and I believe they do mention fighting in the holy lands, and, after all, that is where Richard had his claim to real fame(I will be re-reading the book today however), but America, which is spoken of, was not "discovered" at this time. It was in the Elisabeathan age, which I grant one of the "official" reviewer's mentioned.

Oh well, that was bothering me. I hope that was coherent enough. Completley understandable if its not :p

Summary: Nothing less than excellent
Review: One of the best. It was light, very funny and simply magnificent. Ms. Deveraux's characters were absolutely great!

Rating: 3 stars
Summary: Pass on this one...
Review: Personally, I don't like my men stupid, and Jamie Montgomery is stupid. I couldn't STAND to read about him. Axia is really better off with her sterile intended, end of story.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Simply delightful!
Review: The characters are so vivid and lively, they will sweep you along on their adventures.

Axia and Jamie will make you laugh and cry, then leave you with a warm feeling in your heart and a satisfied smile on your face.
