Summary: The best book you will ever read!
Review: I am 13 years old. I just finished reading Mrs. Mike. My mother found the book at our public library and told me I should read it. I didn't bother to find out what it was about. You know how people always tell you not to judge a book by it's cover? That is exactly what I did. Since it was old and worn I expected it to be a book that I wouldn't find interesting, or very good. I was SO wrong! I have read many books and this is the VERY BEST book I have ever read. My mother told me that the book has stuck with her ever since she read it! I can see why. I couldn't stop reading it! It is a very well written book telling about a young Boston Girl, Katherine Mary O'Fallon and Sergent Mike Flannigan, a Canadian Mountie, who fall in love and start a new life in the Canadian Wilderness. There life is full of love, hardships, and friends you will never forget. I recemmend this book to anyone who can sit still long enough to read it!!

Summary: The best book there is!
Review: Mrs. Mike has been my favourite book ever since the first time I checked it out from our local library. This story is one in a million. Unlike most books, which are only good the first time you read them, I can read Mrs. Mike over and over again. Now that I've found it here at Amazon books, I'm going to order a copy for all of my friends!

Summary: captivating, keeps you on the edge of your seat!
Review: I am a grade twelve student at James M Hill High School In New Brunswick and I recently read Mrs. Mike as a project for my end of the year exam. I am not much of a reader especially if it has to do with school, but I really enjoyed Mrs. Mike and would recommend it to anyone to read as enjoyment. It taught me many of the indian values, and helped me to learn what the west was like. Thank You.

Summary: A lasting treasure.
Review: This beautiful story has been with me since I first read it. That was 33 years ago when I was 12. I can't tell you how excited I was to find so many people with the same opinion. I wanted to recommend this book for our book club, but thought I should see if it would still be available to buy. So, I logged on to Amazon.Com and there it was. The brief synopsis brought it all back to me - the adventure, the heartaches, and the lasting love. I have read it over several times myself over the years, and now I can't wait to tell everyone about it tomorrow. Stories like this one are timeless.

Summary: A story for all ages
Review: I like many of the other reviewers read this story as a teenager. I am also lucky to have the original 1947 version which was my mother's as a young woman. I used to read this book every summer. After I had my children I again read the book. I think it is even more meaningful to me as a mother. I can't wait for my 5 year old daughter to be old enough to read this story that both her mother and grandmother enjoyed over and over.

Summary: great to reread many times
Review: The courage of a young girl in a new and different enviroment. What she learned of the wild and family is a leason for all of us. I read this as a child and have let my daughter read it. She has in turn let her friends read it also. All of these girls love this book. I am lucky to have an original 1947 copy, that my mother gave to me. I will never forget the story of love and family.

Summary: Great book for an adolescent girl
Review: I, like the others who commented, have read this book many times. I first read it when I was an adolescent, and it captivated me. The idea of a girl practically my age venturing off into the Great White North was inspiring. Kate is so strong, yet so sensitive and wise for her years. I think that an important lesson that the book voices is that you can survive many tribulations and come out of it a happy, whole, and better person. I, too, was ecstatic when I found the book at Amazon.com. I still search in every antique shop and flea market I visit for an original copy...no luck yet! I thought I was the only one who loved this book and had it make such an impression on me as a young woman. I'm glad that through these comments I've found others who share my enthusiasm. Cheers!

Summary: A book for all ages
Review: This is about the only book I have ever read more than once! I read it the first time when I was about 13 years old. It was filled with beauty and romance and a healthy dose of real life. I read it a second time just after high school. I enjoyed it even more because Katherine was starting her like just as I was. I read it a third time at about 30. I could relate to the mother and wife that Katherine became. I often suggest the book to readers, young and old. I get something new out of it each time I read it. It is beautifully written and you find yourself traveling and living along with Katherine and Mike.
