Rating: Summary: eyes so blue you could swim in them.. Review: This book is the one that should be on everyone's shelves. It tells a story that I can read over and over again. I used to read it every week; I still cry at certain points. It's a poignant novel written so well that it brings the reader into the setting and makes you genuinely fall in love with the characters. In my 3 years of high school, I've read Faulkner, Dickens, Steinbeck, Trumbo etc, but this book still is the first on my favorites list. Nothing can top it, and I can't remember the first 16 years of my life without thinking about it. I wore out my first copy years ago but I still love reading it because of the familiarity of the pages. If you haven't read it, please do so soon, it's a book that should be read by everyone.

Rating: Summary: mrs. mike - a great book! Review: this was one of the best books i have ever read. It was very interesting because I could really relate to Katherine Mary Flannigan. Mike was my favorite character in the book because he always knew what to say or what to do. It made you want to keep reading more. Once you started to read it it seemed like everything around me froze and I was focused only on the book. I gave this book five stars because I think it really deserved them. It was a well written book and easy to understand.

Rating: Summary: Perfect for all ages Review: This has been my favorite book for over 15 years. It is difficult to express in words how wonderful this book can make a young (or not so young) girl feel. It is a book you don't have to worry about your daughter reading. I first read it when I was 13 years old and have read it at least twice a year since then. In a world so deluged with sex and violence, this book is a refreshing look at how romance and marriage should be.
Rating: Summary: Love for all generations to all generations Review: I first read this book when I asked my mother to recommend a good book for me when I was in about fifth or sixth grade. She had read the book when she was about the same age, and it still held wonderful memories for her. A few years later, my sister found a copy of the book and she too fell in love with it. Whenever someone asks me what my favorite book is, without hesitation I always reply "Mrs. Mike." I recommend this book to all of my friends and tell them that it is one of the most heart-touching books of all time and worth every moment of re-reading.For a long time, I thought that my family was one of the only ones touched by the characters of this book, until recently I was having a conversation with my mentor and she said that it was one of her favorite books as well. That made me think to get another copy of the book to give to some friends and I found that everyone who has read the book feels the same way that I do. It only makes this book even more touching to know that these are real life tragedies and triumphs and that there is always hope to find someone with 'eyes so blue you could swim in them.'
Rating: Summary: excellent book Review: I read this book the first time over 20 years ago and continue to read it about once a year. This book was almost impossible to find until recently which was a problem because my copy from when I was a little girl is falling apart. I highly recommend this book to every school-aged girl. It may even be the reason I decided to become a doctor.
Rating: Summary: I have never grown tired of reading this book. Review: I received this book from my grandmother when the school she worked for was remodeling their library about 18 years ago. I was in 4th grade then and it took me about 2 weeks to read it. I never thought much about it, other than I liked the story, until about 11 years ago when I rediscovered it. I was so into this book I could taste the cooking and smell the forest fire. I cried when the cut flowers died. That year I read the book again and again always finding something I had not seen the first time, learning the characters inside and out. The edition I have was printed a long time ago and I felt that that old book defined the type of person that I wanted to be. I have read it at least once a year since then until my fiance Mike took it to college with him in an attemp to "understand me better." He brought it back ruined because it got wet and the pages mildewed when they dried. I covered it and kept it and still have it but have not wanted to open it so it would not fall apart. I can tell you the story by heart. This year on our 5th wedding anniversary Mike gave me another copy of Mrs. Mike which sits next to the original one. I enjoyed reading it again even more! If you want a book that can touch and help define your life and character this is the one. I look forward to sharing it with my daughter when she is older. PS When I met Mike I never thought I would be Mrs. Mike too! Sarah G
