Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: enchanting Review: my roommate and i are avid readers of romance novels, lending each other our new purchases (after reading them first ourselves of course) rather than buying duplicate copies of great books. but this one is an exception. from the very first page to the last, i was finally brought into an understanding what it truly means to have a book that you "just cant put down." i could not recommend a book any more so than this one! do yourself a favor, when you get this book in your hands, make sure you dont have anything planned for a while...

Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: What a Man! Review: Honestly, could there be a more perfect man than Mike Taggart? Ms. Deveraux really outdid herself this time! Her words bring such vivid pictures to mind that I can see visually everything that is going on. I love Mike's tireless pursuit of Samantha and how he gets when he finally gets her in his arms. It's a very touching story of finding out who you truly are and it's done best when there's someone who loves you by your side. A definate keeper.
Rating: ![4 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-4-0.gif) Summary: Awesome Book Review: I would have to say that this books was quite enjoyable! It had a different edge to it than most of Ms. Deveraux's books. Not only was I captivated by Mike and Sam's brewing romance, but also slightly by their quest to unsolve the mystery of Maxie. Mike was presented, in my opinion, as a modern day dashing, old fashioned gentleman as well as a present day knight in shining armour. Although Sam was depressed at the beginning it was enjoyable and more so romantic to read how Mike changed that all around. Sam was intelligent- but I would have to say that I was most capitivated by Mike's humor and endless efforts to get Sam to take interest in him. However, I disliked the part where they re-enacted the past, turning it into a play - that part I actually thought was kinda dumb, and took away from the romance.
Rating: ![3 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-3-0.gif) Summary: my frist by jude deveraux... Review: and not my last. while i enjoyed this story there were parts of it that i was completely bored. because i had to know what actually happened on that fateful night, i would not put the book down, and i wasnt dissapointed in the end.sam, an adult women who has delt with much tragedy in her life, is moved to new york to find the truth of her grandmother. mike, a "secret" friend of her now deceased father, is to be her landlord as well as look after her. discovery of the big city brings more than sam is ready for and mike is there to protect her from it. there are many twists and turns in this story, but all in all, the love story within is sweet, the mystery of that night in 1928 is one worth discovering and jude deveraux is an author to read again :)
Rating: ![4 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-4-0.gif) Summary: Sweet Liar Review: I am also thirteen and I found this book in the closet from my grandma. I had nothing else to read (I read all the time and if I have no books I freak out) so i picked it up. I easily got into it and it has so many wonderful charateristics. Romance, mystery, adventure and so many more! Both main characters Sam and Mike have many qualities. Sam is so quiet and Mike is so loud metaphorically speeking. I am thirteen and I find that all romance novels have the same plot or close to it. The guy and the girl flirt but the girl is very resisistant towards the guy. They date and break up but they will always and I mean always get back togother! This book surpries you with every page turn and will keep you intersted the whole way through! Enjoy and keep reading!!
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: Abridged audio version Review: What a wonderfully daring beginning to a romance novel! Although the abridgement of this book in audio form left some holes in the story and I found myself rewinding it toward the end to see if I had missed something, I must say that the reader, Mel Harris, was absolutely top class. The storyline was captivating from the start, although toward the end, it got a little confusing (chalk that up to the abridgement). The charming part of this story was watching (or hearing) Samantha discover herself in the big city of New York. The hero has an interesting connection to his new tenant and Michael's caring for her, both as her new guardian (interesting since she was in her late twenties) and as her new and only friend in the big city, lends a sweetness to both characters. Mike's powerful connections and money play well to Sam's transformation into a butterfly. And eventhough Sam had been married for a short time once before, it is Mike who teaches her what true love really is all about. A romantic love story and an intriguing mystery are a winning combination for the author. I can also recommend this audio version to younger readers.
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: Intriguing... Review: In my opinion, the whole story & plot of this book is simply intriguing. Makes me turn each page with suspense... I especially wanted to know the true account of the night of April,1928 that changed the lives of Samantha & her family. The search for her grandmother and the emotional roller coster made me cry. The love story of Sam & Mike are both sweet & heart warming. Sam's slow realization of herself & the transformation into her true identity is somewhat frustrating, sad, interesting then relief follow. Mike's love and patience to help her in any way he can is just as heart warming. I am a fan of the Montgomery Saga (as well as the Taggert) eversince I read the Velvet series, that is why the mention of the Montgomeries (& Taggert family) also made the book more interesting. If you are a J.D. fan & have enjoyed reading about the Montgomeries & Taggert in her previous books, then this is one you have to read. It contains many lovely characters. She even mentioned updates of previous couples from her other books stories. The family helping each other also made it more appealing to my taste. A keeper!
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: One of her Best Review: I have read every Jude Deveraux book ever written and Sweet Liar is one book that I can read over and over again....I only wish that it was a movie. Mike Taggert is probably one of the most caring male characters that Ms. Deveraux has ever created, the love he shows Sam, by making her face all of the horrors that have befallen her, makes a woman wish that every man had a little Mike in him. Ms. Deveraux - keep up the great work
Rating: ![4 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-4-0.gif) Summary: good book Review: Sweet Liar was an absolutely fabulous book. the only reason that i didn't give it five stars was because in nearly half the book Samantha really irritated me. she was such a priss! after she loosened up some it was a really great book. i mean, who could resist mike? :)
