Summary: Sandra Brown does it again!
Review: Sandra Brown is one of my favorite authors and I was not disappointed with "Tidings." I recommend this book for any romance reader.

Rating: 4 stars
Summary: A Magical Christmas, One Night Stand Thing
Review: Taylor MacKensie and Ria Lavender met during a Christmas party. They had a one-night stand and a few weeks later, Ria discovers she's pregnant. Ria proposes to Taylor, so her child would not be born illegitimate.

And now Ria lives with him and shares everything with him. She discovers more about Taylor, his tenderness and his personality. Taylor begins to enjoy Ria's company and little by little they're living together in a comfortable way. But disaster strikes and could Ria and Taylor survive the obstacle together? And what about their previous mates before they met each other?

I think this book is ok. Not all that good but not really bad either. It falls into that average level. I mean there is tenderness and the romantic part but it just seems a little bland compared to Sandra Brown's other books.

Rating: 3 stars
Summary: Boring and Predictable
Review: The saving grace is that it is a short novel and a quick read. A one night stand on Christmas Eve results in a baby and life long love. Predictable and disappointing for a Sandra Brown book.

Summary: Tidings of Great Joy
Review: This book is an insult to paper. It is shallow, and trite with no meaning. The ending is absolutely criminal in its stupidity. Giving a baby, another human being as a gift,....on a trial basis in case they don't like it?... my God how barbourous! Sandra I am ashamed of you!

Summary: Pretty Good
Review: This book is definetely not as bad as some make it out to be, and I recommend it for Sandra Brown lovers.

Ria and Taylor, a candidate for mayor, meet at a Christmas Eve party, and have a one night stand. Two months later Ria knows she is pregnant and goes to see Taylor, now mayor elect, and demand he marry her. They agree to marry and get a annulment soon after the birth of their child.

Ria moves in with Taylor, and they once again become intimate, despite her wishes, and settle into married life. They both learn about each other and grow to enjoy living together. But when complications arise, will their sham marriage survive the strain, or will Ria and Taylor admit to themselves and to each other that they don't want their marriage to be a sham at all?

First, I was glad that Ria and Taylor handled the baby situation with such adult maturity, and it made them seem like strong, likeable characters from the start. It was nice to see their relationship develop from sex based to friendship and love. One problem, however, was that they would always argue and then go to bed and make up and that was that. Sex shouldn't always be a tension and anger reliever, but in this novel that seemed to be all it was.

I actually did not find the book predictable, although it could be because in my wishful thinking I imagined everything differently. I also thought the ending was wonderful and not at all stupid or corny. It would not have been the ending of my choosing, but then I didn't write the book, and it fit with the rest of the story.

This book was fairly good with likeable characters and a good plot with a struggle for the leads to overcome. Better books that I can recommend by Sandra Brown are Led Astray, Adam's Fall, Fanta C, and Breakfast in Bed. Happy Reading!

Summary: Easy Read
Review: This book is such an easy read that it only takes you a few hours to go through it. It does not have much substance but that's fine every once in a while. Taylor and Ria are enjoyable characters. This is definitely a "light" Sandra Brown book.

Summary: Sandra Brown disappointed me this time!
Review: This book was a disappointment especially after reading "Fat Tuedsay", which I loved. "Tidings" was again your typical girl meets boy, girl hates boy, girl thinks about boy, girl falls in love with boy and they end up happily ever after. Can't any author out there think up a story plot with an ending that totally flips your mind? Something you can talk about with other readers for weeks. "Tidings" was only a good fast read around the busy holidays.

Summary: Not much depth
Review: This book was a real disappointment. I never felt as though I really got to know the characters, but considering how cruel they were to each other, that's probably just as well. The only thing on these characters' minds was getting into bed with each other. I would have liked to have seen more detail about their jobs, which would have made the story more interesting. I bought the book because I knew that Ria was an architect and that sounded interesting. I thought that Taylor was particularly insensitive to Ria throughout most of the book, and Ria seemed to say things to Taylor that always made him angry, with good reason. If you're looking for a book with depth, this isn't it.

Summary: Beautiful!
Review: This book was fantastic! Very short and sweet, but with all the X-mas cheer and breathless reading. Ria Lavender is today's woman UNTIL things take an abrupt turn! Read this one next. Sandra is GREAT!
