Rating: Summary: 204 Rosewood Lane Review: I have enjoyed Debbie Macomber's books in the past, but felt that two of her recent books, Dinner at Eight and Between Friends, were excellent. She seems to have grown and expanded. I was very disappointed with 204 Rosewood Lane. I got confused with all the characters and found I really didn't care. Hope Debbie will zero in on books like Dinner at Eight and Between Friends.
Rating: Summary: Left me crazy needing to know more Review: I loved the book 204 Rosewood Lane. I kept up with all that was going on just fine. I just got done reading this book today and I am ready for the next book in the series. I have my own ideas about the dead man and want to see if what I am thinking is anywhere close to being right. I would like to be notified as soon as the next book comes out. I hope my wait for the next book in this series won't be long.
Rating: Summary: Too Many Characters Live at 204 Rosewood Lane Review: I've been a fan of Debbie Macomber for over 15 years and really was looking forward to this continuing saga. It did answer predictably what happened to Dan (from the first book) and went on to introduce several characters who might have had interesting stories of their own to tell had they not been trying to share the pages with about 17 other story lines. I made it through the 378 pages wanting for something that I just can't pinpoint. As I read the last paragraph I didn't have that same anticipation for the next book. This book just seemed to be a "setting up" point for the other books in the series ...I don't believe it holds up well unless you read 16 Lighthouse Road.
Rating: Summary: engaging look at small-town USA Review: In Cedar Cove, Dan and Grace Sherman seemed like the perfect married couple having shared thirty-six years together. However, Dan vanished leaving behind Grace and their two daughters with one of them pregnant, all wondering and worrying about him. Grace hired a private detective and the evidence he provided her led her to believe he ran off with another woman. Five months later, over the objection of her youngest daughter Kelly, who still believes her daddy will come home to see his recently born grandson, Grace files for divorce. Her other adult child Maryellen supports her mother though her father's sudden departure adds credence to her belief that men leave. Still romance, marriage, divorce, and babies fill the community with sadness and joy as life goes on. 204 ROSEWOOD LANE, the second Cedar Cove tale (see 16 LIGHTHOUSE ROAD) is an engaging look at small-town USA by one of the top authors of the genre. The story line provides insight into several townsfolk and not just the Sherman females. Dan's mysterious disappearance, which is mentioned in the first novel, is solved. Though that added some suspense, but not as much as the audience anticipated, as the novel is a relationship cozy not an action mystery. Genre readers will want to visit Debbie Macomber's second trip to Cedar Cove. Harriet Klausner

Rating: Summary: Where in the world is Dan? Review: Much like the first (16 Lighthouse Road) in the Cedar Cover series I really enjoyed this book. Admittedly there are many characters in the series but one must remember a town is full of people and to keep a series going more people need to be introduced. Like other reviewers I was anxious to read 204 ROSEWOOD LANE to find out what happened to Dan Sherman. That question is answered after many months and a heart wrenching decision being made by Grace. In this second book there is more mystery. A man ends up dead in a bed and breakfast. Does someone in town know who he is? Why the cosmetic surgery? Zach and Rosie Cox are headed to divorce court. The judge's decision about the joint custody is a surprise. Olivia is now caught in a triangle. Grace has found herself a good friend in Cliff Harding. Maryellen has found herself in a delicate situation with a local photographer. As I have with this book, I look forward to reading 311 Pelican Court. Thanks Debbie for another great read!

Rating: Summary: Return to Cedar Cove Review: The characters which were introduced in 16 Lighthouse Road continue to develop in this second book of the series. The highlighted character is Grace Sherman, Judge Olivia Lockhart's best friend, who waits in vain for the return of her husband Dan, who has disappeared without a trace. Grace is convinced that Dan is with another woman so she relutantly divorces him, much to the joy of Cliff Harding, who makes no secret of the fact that he would like to pursue a relationship with her. Other main characters who appear are Seth and Justine, who marry at the end of book 1; Jack who is pursuing Olivia; Stan, Olivia's husband, who is having marital problems with his second wife; and MaryEllen, Grace's single daughter who becomes pregnant. Macomber weaves these characters in and out of her story, and unlike many of the reviewers, I enjoy the simultaneous story lines. After awhile these characters seem like old friends, and I look forward to re-visiting them in other books in the series.
Rating: Summary: Highly recommend.... Review: This is actually the first book I've ever read by Debbie MacOmber, but it will definitely not be my last. What an extraordinary tale. I was so caught up in this book and it's characters that I was actually surprised. The story line simply flowed and before I knew it, I was at the end. I look forward to reading more from this author and recommend this book to anyone who is in the market for a lively, fast-paced, easy to follow story that will pull you in and keep you there right to the end.
