Summary: Great story, characters and settings.
Review: I loved it and would like to read it again. I have read all of her books and keep them to read over and over and over. But some how this one got away from me. But I will find it again, don't you worry. It is too bad she can not turn out a book a week because that is how addicted I am to reading her. Thanks Susan Johnson, keep it up.

Summary: Erotic
Review: I purchased this after reading Wicked. So, I did it backwards! I loved it. Lost sleep because I had to find out what happens to Sinjin. It is truly a romance with amazing hot passion between the hero and his lady. I have a thing for men with long hair and I can totally imagine Sinjin when he strides into the room! I recommend this one hands down. Get ready to lose sleep and be amazed.

Summary: Sinjun St John? Ludicrous!
Review: I was contemplating buying this book, until I saw the hero's name. Sinjun St John??? Doesn't Johnson know that 'Sinjun' is merely a phonetic rendering of St John? In other words, the name 'St John' is *pronounced* Sinjun! And therefore, the likelihood that any English aristocrat would be called Sinjun St John is less than nil.

*Please* do your homework in future, Johnson!

Summary: If you like erotica instead of romance this book is for you!
Review: If you like crass, this book is for you too! The heroine turned me off with her first sentence in the whole book (you can take a peek with Amazon's handy sneek peeks that lets you view the first few chapters - it's right there in the beginning of chapter 3). The only reason I kept reading was because this book was recommended to me and I kept wanting it to get better. My son's name is Sinjun (I got that name from an Olympic volleyball player from back in the 80's) and even I knew that it was the way the french pronounce St. John (think "Sen ZHAWN") - making his name rather redundant. Aside from that, I felt the characters lacked depth and the only thing that held them together was sex. I learned more about what Sinjin looked like on the outside (what he wore, how well he wore it, etc...) without hardly getting a peek inside the man as a feeling, thinking being - beyond his thoughts about Chelsea - "I want her but I don't know why." I personally can't understand how other reviewers were "captivated" by this book. I can read a good book in a matter of hours but I had to "swallow" this one down like medicine. Maybe it's because I started out reading romances like A Knight in Shining Armour by Jude Deveraux or maybe I'm just picky about what I read - I enjoy books that are hard to put down and pull you inside the story. This book just made me feel like I was pulled into their bedroom to watch!

Summary: NDW
Review: In a time when ladies do not ask men to ruin their reputation unless otherwise Chelsea makes her mark and falls in love. Sinjin (what a name!) enjoys the time they shared but not the Ferguson clan! Just when I started to get bored from this cat and mouse game Susan pops them into a harem! Sex, Lust, rescues, fights and even a baby holds there love together! Thank You Susan NDW

Summary: Les Liaisons Dangereux...
Review: Susan Johnson's Sinful puts me in the mind of Dangerous Liaisons meets a scene out of Last of the Mohicans (all I can say is: waterfall): Duke of Seth, Sinjin St. John is the profligate rake who woos women so easily that the stakes must continuously be raised in order to keep the game of love interesting. When we meet him, the only woman that he really respects or in any way keeps in confidence is his exotic beauty of a lover, The Duchess of Buchan, Cassandra-the trophy wife of the Duke of Buchan. Sinjin's cynical and independent playmate, Cassandra's life is made of creating intrigue and entertaining herself with new lovers (of which Sinjin is only one). Chelsea Fergusson, the daughter of an Earl, is the innocent girl with a potential for passion made all the more alluring because of her honesty and youthful openness.

Sometimes the story endured rough and unreasonable plot twists-that is, aspects of plot twists in the storyline suffered from abruptness. I had difficulty sustaining a suspension of disbelief. Another strong criticism I can offer about Sinful is the force feeding of characters' disposition and motivation that Johnson felt compelled to provide especially at the beginning of the book. The repetition of statements like: he had been the `most fascinating rake in the Ton' are unnecessary, especially when Johnson makes this more than obvious with her descriptions of the young Duke's exploits in scene after scene. If someone is descpicable, don't tell me, I want to say, just let the story unfold so that I can see it for myself and draw (or not) that conclusion. Finally, I wished that Johnson would either decide that she wanted to make the book about a triangle of lovers-Sinjin, Cassandra and Chelsea-or not; Johnson didn't seem to know whether she wanted to delve fully in the relationship between Sinjin and Cassandra or the depth of their...'interest' and affection for each other. Sometimes, I thought Johnson wanted her to be a part of the story and at other times, Cassandra was treated as a distraction-filler.

Otherwise, I would say that the book was good. A lot of the frustration that I felt reading the book was, to some extent, only natural given the identity of the characters involved and the era in which they were set. The love scenes were pretty good too. However, Johnson's Wicked scenes really made my pulse race. I think that I like Johnson as an author, but this book was not at the top of my literary list:-)

Mostly Good, but also too Frequently a Page-Skipper.

Out of all the romance novels I've read Sinjin St. John is the perfect dream man. Even though he has many faults..hes all man..and more important all Chelsea's..If you liked their story you should read about Sinjin's son Beau.... (unplug the phone and pull the shades) I hope she keeps this family line going..As well as the Kuzans...Nikki Alex Apollo...< (Never knew Russia had men that sexy..)
