Rating: Summary: The Seduction Of Sara is a wonderfully entertaining read! Review: The Seduction Of Sara by talented writer Karen Hawkins is an amusing tale of a cat chasing the mouse until the mouse catches the cat (smile)... Nicholas (who has the reputation for leaning toward the scandalous side) and a beautiful young widow by the name of Sara (whose marriage was a disaster by the way) attraction for one another leads to problems-a-plenty when Sara falls for Nicholas the scandalous hunk-- A story that will entertain the reader for hours on end...
Rating: Summary: The Seduction of Sara Review: The Seduction of Sara was a good book but just didn't hold up to the other regency romance books I've read. The book had nice, enjoyable characters (even the secondary characters were well written about). I loved the characters Sara and Nicholas. Their story is a very interesting one during the last part of the book. The plot was just too slow paced until the last hundred or so pages. The storyline was good and the idea of the book was good, it just took too long to get to the interesting part. This book also has too many loose ends. The story ends without the reader really knowing how different situations were resolved. (If you read the book you'll know what I'm talking about!) The ending was OK, just too weak. If you're looking for a regency romance with lots of rakes, rogues and pretty Ladies and Lords, I would recommend the Mallory Novels by Johanna Lindsey. They are much more entertaining.
Rating: Summary: A Romantic Tale Loaded With Humor! Review: The Seduction Of Sara was a very entertaing story loaded with humor. I had so much trouble putting this book down until after I finished the book. A friend of mine shares many books of this nature with me and I want to tell you how very happy I am that she does. If it wasn't for her, I would not have been introduced to so many talented writers. Do yourself a favor and share this heartwarming story with a friend. They too will fall in love with Lady Sara and Nick!
Rating: Summary: Another OK story with this over-done plot Review: There are so many of these rake-teaches-heroine-about-seduction stories, all done with varying degrees of success. This one was OK. Nothing fresh or new here, but I did find the lead characters, Sara and especially Nick (mmm, very sexy!) very likeable. Nicholas Montrose, Earl of Bridgeton is newly arrived back home after years of wandering on the Continent. He left in disgrace (all of which was a bit unclear to me, not having read "The Abduction of Julia") and now, having won an estate in a card game, he has returned to re-establish himself in "respectable" society. His severe, debilitating headaches lead him to believe that his time on earth is limited, so he wants to put his house in order, find a luscious mistress and enjoy whatever time he has left. Sara Lawrence, Lady Carrington, is a widow whose first husband humiliated her with his cheating. Sara has a wild streak and enjoys pushing the envelope of propriety, which has led her five over-protective older brothers to threaten to choose a husband for her - one that will keep her in line. Well, Sara will have none of that! So, while exiled to Bath, she looks in earnest for a husband she can control, not vice versa. Nick and Sara meet and are instantly attracted, but both realize that neither is what the other is looking for. So Nick offers to help Sara find and seduce a husband all the while still hoping to make her his mistress instead. But fighting their attraction is more than either bargain for - can they do it, and if they can't what happens next? There are some fine secondary characters - Sara's overbearing half-brother Anthony, Earl of Greyley and his hate-hate (or is it love-hate?) relationship with Sara's friend Anna Thraxton ("An Affair to Remember" is their story). Then there's Sara's cute Aunt Delphi and Nick's roguish friend Henri, the Comte du Lac. But my favourite character was Sara's second oldest brother, the enigmatic, charismatic, keenly intelligent Marcus, Marquis of Treymount - now his story I look forward to!
Rating: Summary: The Seduction of Sara Review: This is a very enjoyable light read. I will read it again.

Rating: Summary: Disappointed Review: This started out to be something good. But it quickly fell into the formulaic too stupid to live big misunderstanding type plot. I lost interest fast and never really cared about the characters or why they made the choices they made. Lust is not love no matter how hard the characters say that it is.
Rating: Summary: This is the first hawthorne book I read and will not be last Review: This was a great book!!!!! ... I am also going to go back and read the abduction of Julia! I read this book in one day - I could not put it down!
Rating: Summary: why oh why did she rush through the ending Review: Up until the ending everthing was great! This book had everything I loved in a romance novel a cat and mouse chase, humor and suspense. But the ending ruined it for me. Not only did she rush the ending she totally forgot about sarah's bossy brother and her beautiful best friend they too had a little cat and mouse thingy going on. But she just ended the book. I guess we were supposed to use our imaginations. Why... did she do it? Oh the humanity!
Rating: Summary: Warm, funny, and emotional -- a GREAT read! Review: What a great book! I laughed (the romance between the chaperone and the French count is hysterical!) and cried (Nick is SUCH a wonderful character and Sara really gets to him) throughout the entire book. This book is going on my Keeper Shelf right beside my Julia Quinn books. Here's the story: Sara Carrington has had it with men -- especially her five hunky brothers, the St. Johns. They are determined that her wild ways since the death of her first husband, should come to an end. And to make sure of that, they intend to pick a new husband for her. But Sara's no wet noodle -- since her brothers won't rest until she's married, she decides to pick her own husband. Someone who will free her from her bothersome brothers and let her go her own way. Enter Nicholas Montrose, the disreputable Earl of Bridgeton. Nick has a secret (which I won't tell you about here!) and while he is fascinated by Sara and more than willing to offer her a place as his mistress, he wants nothing to do with marriage. Time is running out for Sara -- her brothers are on their way to town and soon she'll be so closely watched that her dreams of freedom are about to disappear. Nick, seeing a prime opportunity, offers to teach Sara the art of seduction so she can quickly capture a husband. Sara agrees and the stage is set. The sexual tension in this book is so thick you could slice it with a knife. And Sara and Nick together are a powerful testiment to true love. I sighed at the ending -- it was just perfect. Ms. Hawkins writes with a flair and humor that few other authors offer. I LOVED this book and can't wait until August to read An Affair To Remember, which I think is about Sara's best friend, Anna, and Sara's brother, Anthony. Don't miss this The Seduction of Sara -- it will leave you wanting to read ALL of Ms. Hawkins's books!
