Summary: The names have been changed to protect the innocent...
Review: ...same old story, different names. Diana Palmer has found a formula that seems to sell books, but it has become tiresome. The plot lines are full of huge holes and do all men call their girlfriends "cupcake?" I only had to wait until page 98 of Cattleman's Pride for Jordan's "In fact," he bit off againt her lips, "neither are you, cupcake." Please, Ms. Palmer, come up with another term of endearment, you've worn this one out.
If it's a rainy day (or you're in a body cast), give it a read. If nothing else, the book is junk food for the brain.

Summary: blah blah blah meh!!
Review: Diana Palmer used to be one of my favorites, but most of her recent books have been the same- blah blah downtrodden heroine, blah blah rich handsome cowboy, blah blah amorphous and random Texas references. Jutting brows (are her heroes all Neanderthals?), outdated language and overuse of the exclamation point have decreased my (guilty) reading pleasure. I don't have anything against formula romances (I love Betty Neels), but this formula is tired. At least there wasn't any archeology mentioned (unless I skimmed over that part), but the "mystery" was a total non-plot for me. It was a quick read, and all I can say is "Thank heavens for library swap shelves!"

Summary: Such a let down. Same story, different title.
Review: I have been a long time fan of Palmer, and have many of her titles on my keeper shelf, but I honestly cannot believe that Harlequin printed this book. As always, we have the innocent virgin heroine who has a "case" on the arrogant rude hero who is always a "dish". I overlooked these type references from books that were published in the 70's but, honestly, do people still talk like this? After reading Lawless, I was so encouraged because the writing style seemed new and refreshing. But something else that was very confusing after reading Lawless was the mention of Cash and Tippy. When we last saw Cash in Lawless, He and Tippy were just starting to seem interested in each other. In this book, Tippy has already lost Cash's baby and Cash saved her from being kidnapped. What?! Did I miss something? I'll sum this all up by saying that if you like all of Diana's stories with the same type of hero and heroine as always, with mention of Archeology, or going to see the new Mystery or Science Fiction movie, with language that is laughably outdateable, then by all means this is a must read. For the rest, if you have read one of her older titles, just imagine that story with these characters names.

Summary: GREAT BOOK
Review: I have just finished reading this book. I enjoyed the book alot. The problem is with the character Powell. How can a guy be so blind about a female. I like the fact that Libby is a strong female character. In this book, it seems the roles of who usually warns who is switched. Grier is the chief, and he is hanging out with Tippy. The book said, that someone kidnapped her. My question is who, but I guess that is another book. I recommend this book to anyone who is looking for an excellent story to read. I was through the book, and it did not seem to drag at all.

Summary: Cattleman's Pride S R # 1718
Review: I love Diana Palmer, so I read all her books, but lately she has gotten into telling more than one story in a book, this is too bad.
I thought this book would be about Cash and Tippy. But we learn Tippy has been kidnapped, lost Cash's baby, and had her face slashed. When?
It is good to hear what happened to the others in Jacobsville, but not the new characters introduced at random is boring.
I loved the story of Libby and Jordan, but Libby's brother Curt seems cardboard like.
Libby is so smart, but she needs Jordan to help her put 2+2 together.
Curt just goes by what ever Jordan and Mr Kemp say without thinking himself. Never once did he go and have it out with Jordan because of the way Jordan was treating his sister.
Jordan is smart, but he is blind and dumb. He wants Libby but he is scared because of what is happening to another man.
Even though Jordan knows Libby is a Bible school teacher, she helps with the babies in the nursery, and families in need. Yet he thinks she is too young to be his wife, and not a lawyer in New York.
When Julie has a go at Libby in a cafe where everyone there hears what Julie is saying to Libby but Jordan who is standing right by Julie.
I could take this, but three or four stories in one story is confussing and it took away from the tale of Jordan and Libby.
I must say I like Susan Fox, Rebecca Winters, Helen Brooks, Eva Rutland, the late great Betty Neels, and the late Essie Summers.
So anyone can tell this writers plots that are very alike, and the man is always bigger than life. The woman is always good, and kind even shy, and almost always mistreated.

Summary: GREAT BOOK
Review: IF YOU LIKE THE OLD DIANA PALMER WRITING YOU'LL LOVE THIS I DID SURE THE LANGUAGE IS 80'S BUT SO WHAT IT WAS BETTER THAN ALL THAT NASTY JUNK IN MOST BOOKS.

Summary: Not Quite Right.
Review: Let me start by saying I love Diana Palmer. I have every book and would not miss buying even this one.... However this book was not quite right?

It had the same type characters but a little more interesting dialog between Libby and Jordan.

- Let's talk about Curt the older brother -
Her brother sits back and lets things happen - first the father dies (neither he nor Libby a paralegal think to investigate), the stepmother tries to sell the family ranch (again no action), the bank forecloses on the property etc, etc, etc. This man should not be in a Diana Palmer book! The only positive for him is he loves his sister.

-Libby -
I can admit I like her character the most in this book because she comes across as very dignified and she doesn't let Jordan walk all over her. The only sore spot I have is why she needed Jordan to point her in the right direction as far as the investigation into her father's death - SHE WORKS IN A LAWYERS OFFICE!!!!

- Jordan -
What a let down. I started off really liking him. The fact that he was a self made millionaire overcoming his father's shortcomings and an extremely handsome man with reportedly high intelligence? But where was that intelligence when he turned against Libby for a drug addicted, vengeful woman, with no morals??? Come on... the entire town saw through her but he couldn't??? This was totally unbelievable and ruined the whole book for me.

- The plot -
A murderous stepmother, a drug addicted other woman, her drunken father who is running for reelection, an overweight secretary, CASH AND TIBBY? etc, etc, etc. the list goes on an on. It was hard trying to follow all the sub plots. I felt like there should be a separate story for each? Then all of a sudden Libby and Curt are rich. Jordan realizes he made a mistake. He joins the right political campaign. He dumps the other woman. He apologizes to Libby and Curt, THEN... The story ends Happily Ever After with Jordan and Libby.

NOTE TO DIANA PALMER: Please stop having the characters repeat themselves in your books this is very very annoying. First Libby makes an observation, then Jordan makes the same observation, then Kirby makes the same observation, then Curt makes the same observation.... You get my drift. I repeat, please stop this!

TO DIANE PALMER FANS: Only buy this book if you are like me and have to have all of Diane Palmer's books and do not care if it is good or not.

ALL OTHERS: DO NOT BOTHER!

Summary: Predictable?
Review: This was the first book by Diana Palmer that I have read, and I loved it. I have since gone out and bought Lawless, and have read it, too. I can't wait till August when Renegade comes out!
