Rating: Summary: I love clever women! Review: The woman in this is clever! The love scenes are sensuous! The guy is oblivious, as men occasionally are :) It was fun to read. It reminded me a bit of Georgette Heyer's style, but a GREAT DEAL sexier. Lot's of laughter, lot's of plot twisting, Regency style, with a steamy relationship thrown in. Luckily, without an insipid female to have to deal with in the bargain.
Rating: Summary: Ripping off a classic story Review: There were parts of this book I enjoyed, but I was very annoyed when I read the obviously ripped-off portions of "The Scarlet Pimpernel", a classic deserving at least an acknowledgment. Nowhere is there an author's note or other indication that the plot is lifted from another book. The love story and some of the supporting characters are entertaining, but I cannot stomach such work that does not give (in print) the least credit to the original. I will be very cautious about ordering anything else by Dara Joy. I did enjoy "Knight of a Trillion Stars", "Rejar", and, especially, "High Energy", but this was a disappointment.
Rating: Summary: excellent..... Review: this book is a great reversal of roles, the chick gets to seduce the guy this time. it's really very good, it's got a bit of the scarlet pimpernel tied in, which is really rather amusing. i really can't think of anything to say except that it's really tasefully trashy, i love it.

Rating: Summary: Ooo baby I think I'm in love Review: This book is the best book in 1700's romance I have ever read. Even though the characters don't go anywhere, they spend a lot of time in every room in the house. This book was cute and spontanious. I recommend it to everyone. She needs to write about Percy with his sexy self. I am very picky about what I read, but when it comes to Dara she can make it sizzle.
Rating: Summary: Superb!! In my opinion, Joy's best work! Review: This book is wonderful. It surpasses all of Dara Joy's works in steaminess. However the plot is weak. The characters are also too predictable, which makes this her weakest work plot-wise, but steamiest sex-wise.
Rating: Summary: Fantastic, I couldn't put this down Review: This book was a total riot to read. Every time I turned the page I was laughing out-loud. My husband even came in the room several times and asked if I was o.k. and what I was laughing at. I think that Chloe was a very determined and supper funny heronine and that Lord Sexton gets just what he needs as a wife. This book was not what the back lead me to believe, but it is more about their marraige and how they learn to tell each other that they love each other. I was a little disappointed in the last chapter. I thought that there could have been more explination about how Lord Sexton comes about discover that he loves Chloe. But on the whole it was a fantastic book. Don't pick this one up unless you don't want to go to sleep.
Rating: Summary: So Bad! Review: This book was awful! The writing was amateurish, snuffing out any enjoyment in reading the book. Don't bother!
Rating: Summary: Decent story but don't pay new book price!! Review: This is a reissue. Look for it at used book stores before paying a new book price. It's a good story although when it first came out I was sure it had been written hastily to fulfill a contract obligation. Very different from Dara Joy's other books, which I enjoyed more than this one. A quick, easy read.
Rating: Summary: A 3 1/2 Stars Read... Review: This is my first book of Dara Joy and I shall read more of her works, especially of the Black Rose and the 7 Cyns. I must admit, the plot was light but have potential. The mystery-action twist was a bit too weak & even predictable but not dragging. It has its moment of curiosity and engrossment. The characters wasn't impressive yet likable. Although, the relationship development of John and Chloe was a little too easy and too soft for my liking. I wanted a heart retching rift or even a little misunderstanding to make their story more hearty. Since John was the initially portrayed as Lord of Sex, I wanted to see a third party involved or at least a mistress who would be a problem between them. Not necessarily for him to commit adultery but a challenging situation, at least. Or anything that would be a convincing proof of his savvy reputation as a Rake. Seems like the Lord of Sex reformed way too quickly to sound exciting or convincing. Yet, mind you, Chloe and John together are never dull. Oh no, their fiery love play & sex scenes are definitely hot and sizzling. Passionately written. This book is also full of humor. The witty dialogues between the characters are a chuckle and a laugh out loud moments. I love the French love words and Latin quotes. If you like a light, enjoyable read then this one is good enough to pass your time.
