Summary: EMOTIONAL... PASSIONATE.. A KEEPER
Review: I Normally do not like Novella and Anthologies to short.. However, this book will live with me for a long time..AFTER THE MUSIC by CHRISTINE FEEHAN.. this is the first story by Christine that is not Historical Gothic.. as her book THE SCARLETI CURSE Nor is like her DARK SERIES.. However, this is one of the best Gothic Suspense Contempary novels I have read.. As with all of her books Christine has the ability to draw one into her world her characters are full of emotion and passion.. Time stops for me when reading her books and this Novella is no acception....I would love to see more of Christine's work in this field... SHE IS VERY TALENTED..and wonderful Author... onto LADY OF THE LOCKET by Melanie George. Again another story that is full of emotion.. and wonderful characters.. a superb story.... I have not yet read the other books I have by Melanie but shall enjoy them no doubt....

Summary: Love Christine Feehan
Review: I picked this up because I have enjoyed everything that Christine Feehan has written, and she did not disapoint me on this one, either. This story had the same elements that make her DARK books so good, and a good dose of Gothic mystery to boot.

I had never read Melanie George before this, but will be picking up more of her books, based on the quality of 'Lady in the Locket'.

Summary: 5 star/4 star
Review: My 5-star rating goes to MELANIE GEORGE'S portion of this novella, "Lady in the Locket." What a superb story this was! Full-bodied and passionate. Duncan MacGregor, the Highland warrior, was to die for. I was weeping like a baby ...... well, I can't say more or else I will give too much away. But VERY, very poignant and moving. This is an author I will DEFINITELY be picking up!!

As for Christine Feehan's story, I thought it was very well done, but not as strong as Ms. George's story, that being the reason for rating it 4-stars. Though it was certainly enjoyable. Dillon is a hero that will pull at your heartstrings.

All and all, don't miss this wonderful novella!

Summary: Melodramatic as the title indicates
Review: The title states its a gothic novel & it is. Melodramatic & dark at times, I felt like rolling my eyes over the endless 'heated looks' the hero & heroine in the first story exchanged before finally getting down to business. The reasons they didn't weren't addressed (like his scarring maybe?) so you were kind of left wondering in this day & time what the delay was all about. All in all, the 1st storybook was reasonably entertaining so I finished it. The gothic style reminded me why I never particularly liked serious melodrama - too impractical. I appreciate the title's 'heads up' though, otherwise I would have been seriously annoyed.

Summary: Spectacular
Review: These two stories are two of the best I've ever read. But my favorite was Melanie George's "Lady Of The Locket". This actually made me cry then made me smile. I've read this story 3 times and I only got the book 2 weeks ago. Both stories will keep you turning the pages until your finished. If I could rate this book higher than 5 stars I would.

Summary: A Great Gothic Story!
Review: This is a very good duo of novellas with a Christmas theme. The first by Christine Feehan is a formula gothic romance with a modern twist. The second by Melanie George is a ghostly tale set in a Scottish castle. Both are very engrossing. A definite must read.

Summary: Gothic?? Naaaaaa......
Review: This was an excellent book...but Gothic? Naa! Sure it was dark, setting that is, but it wasnt gotic. BUT that does not take away from the story!

In Ms. Feehan's story, Dillon Wentworth is disfigured and reclusive. His children are left in Jessica Fitzpatrick's care since his wife was killed in the fire that disfigured him. When Jessica returns before Christmas with the children, she is visited by nightmares of what happened to her the last time she lived in that house. She also comes to realize that her attraction to Dillon is returned. One word for this story..YUMMY. Dillon being disfigured took nothing away from his silent sex appeal and Jessica jumped right on in!

In Ms. George's story, Rachel Hudson goes on a trip visit the Scottish castle where her deceased parents met. While there she has the "pleasure" of falling for a scottish warrior that is swept into the present from the past. Along with him, though, comes a force that is out to kill. This story was good although it had a tear jerker of an ending. All ends well though! :)
