Rating: Summary: FIVE STARS ARE NOT ENOUGH Review: Beautiful!!!! This book was so wonderful, Yvonne and Micheal were beautifully written characters. You could feel all the emotions Ms. Glass wanted you to experience reading this book. The pain of their pasts were believable, just as the love that they finally shared. This was a beautifully written story and I hope Ms. Glass continue writing stories as powerful and wonderful as this.
Rating: Summary: Click this In to Your Shopping Cart Pronto Review: Hooray! An interracial romance that has two gorgeous, savvy, independently wealthy people that are made for each other and are passionate! Yvonne and Mike are thrown together because a mutual friend is unable to pick Yvonne up from the airport and asks Mike to stand in for him. She expects her friend and Mike doesn't know who he is looking for other than her name. When they do meet up, their attraction is mutual and that's when the fun begins. I won't tell you anymore because I don't want to spoil the your fun, but I will guarantee that you will not be disappointed if you buy this one. One of my favorite parts is when Mike invites her over for dinner and his parents are there and Yvonne doesn't know it, nor do his parents know that she is Black. The dialogue and interaction are really charming. This is one of the best of this genre that I have read and I have read them all! I guess that I should also add that it has serious moments, but they aren't overly grim. Don't lend this one out, you'll read it again and again.
Rating: Summary: Crazy, sexy cool..... Review: I am am avid IR romance reader (I am in a wonderful committed relationship with a very cute white jewish man) and this story is a good read...the characters were believable (yes I know she was a late bloomer...but it didn't take long for him to light her fires!) I like how they tumbled into love....and stayed.=0)
Rating: Summary: I'm so glad I discovered this amazing author! Review: I am an avid romance reader and while I enjoy a whole range of stories it is not often I can say a writer has blown me away, but that is exactly what Seressia Glass did with "No Commitment Required". I empathized with both Michael and Yvonne, their story moved me. The obstacles they had to overcome didn't seem contrived or silly, like they can sometimes in other romance novels. I loved the gradual way the author presented the evolution of their relationship, it seemed very natural and genuine. I liked the fact that there were no real villains in the story, just people that made errors in judgment that inadvertantly caused people pain. I'm not usually a fan of writers that have their characters making so-called noble sacrifices, but in the context of this story, Michael's decision made sense. He was not privy to a lot of things the reader was privy to and he thought he was doing what was best for Yvonne. He didn't come across weak to me at all, quite the contrary. I felt both he and Yvonne came across as strong straight-forward individuals. I commend Ms. Glass for writing a beautiful, touching, passionate and realistic love story without using the usual contrived misunderstandings throughout to create drama. I loved Michael and Yvonne and I look forward to reading Jeff and Angie's book "No Apologies". It's been a long time since I have been this excited about an author, I recommend "No Commitment Required" highly, if you like Suzanne Brockmann, I think you will enjoy this book.
Rating: Summary: Call Me Confused Review: I don't understand the appeal of this book. After reading one really great interracial romance by Lisa Riley, I wanted to read more, so I did a search. When I saw how many people just loved this book, I decided to buy it.
I didn't like it too much. I thought the characters were one dimensional and many things happened that just didn't make any sense. They happened without the proper set-up, or the proper foreshadowing, as my English professor called it.
The story is about a black woman who can best be described as virginal when it comes to men and a white man who is a philanderer. He falls for her immediately and her feelings for him are mutual, but they're both terrified of commitment. It turns out that they both have pasts that they'd rather not talk about. Hers is particularly over the top and there's so much drama as to be unbelievable.
Anyway, I know that this was the author's first novel and as debuts go, it was adequate, but one can also see the potential. Given that this author is with the same publisher (Genesis) as Lisa Riley, I am glad that this novel didn't have all of the printing mistakes Ms. Riley's did. I would buy another Seressia Glass novel because I think she's probably grown since this one. As I said, the potential was clear.
Rating: Summary: Excellent Book Review: I enjoyed this story. It is one of the best. The storyline was not boring, I actually read it in a few hours. But..... I am a romance addict and as good as this book is, the romance was lacking. I expected that, to a point, considering Michael & Yvonne agreed they did not want a relationship, just sex. These are the things that rubbed me the wrong way: #1 No commitment idea was all right for a while but when it became obvious that they wanted more, I wish the author would have allowed them to have more. The "one" date they had was at a nightclub and black men & white women verbally abused Yvonne. #2 The couple had enough drama to deal with so throwing in the horrid scene with Jeff (Michael's best friend & Yvonne's "play" brother) was unnecessary. Jeff was nobody's friend; he was in love with his own self. #3 Michael's decision to let Yvonne go instead of standing up and fighting for the woman he loved was weak of him. After all he put into his astounding proposal to her, they way he dumped her afterwards was appalling, what kind of love was that.

Rating: Summary: A Great read! Review: I must say that I have not enjoyed a multicultural book as much as i did this one. I read the book and reread it again two days later! Ms. glass does a good job of making the reader feel and relate with these characters. She does not merely define them by their color but rather by what they have been through, their history. She makes this story more than about race and goes into the deeper human emotions that makes one empathize and be able to root for these characters. All in all she successfully creates an uncontrived and realistic relationship between these two individuals. The fact that she was not afraid to add some hot lovescenes was an added bonus!
