Rating: Summary: Interesting plotline Review: Unfortunately, I read "Someone to Watch Over Me" first, and it was so good that "Night Whispers" suffered by comparison. The story and characters were very good if somewhat unrealistic. The Maitland family came across as more believable than the others. However, there's romance, suspense, betrayal and murder, good dialogue and interesting settings, so the book is an enjoyable read.
Rating: Summary: A good Read Review: This book had great plot, and a lot of suspense. However the love scenes in it were few. So if you're looking for a book with more love in it this is not the book to be choosing. But the story line was terrific! And it had a wonderfuk ending that i really liked. I just wish i could find out what happens afterwards. Sloan (main character)got everything she hoped for and more, but what happened to Paris and Paul? Thats all i want to know. All and all this was a great book.
Rating: Summary: Full of suspense, not as much romance Review: This was Judith McNaughts first trip into the true suspense genre, and she did terrific. I've read many, and she's done better than most that are best sellers. and you even get a romance out of the deal, can't get much better than that. This was a great book, and I was very glad that I took the time to read it. FYI- characters from this book are mentioned in other books... Gotta love Judith McNaught
Rating: Summary: I don't get it! Review: I have read all of Judith McNaughts books, and I have to say this has got to be the worst one. Usually there is a big build up and anticipation of the two lovers getting together. That is missing here. All of the characters are underdeveloped and I didn't really get why Sloan was so attracted to Noah, and the story of Paris and Paul is never gone into in detail so how did their relationship develop? To me Noah's sister Courtney is more interesting than most of the major characters. I hope in the future Judith McNaught returns to her old writing style. I'm sure some of the characters from this book will be the focus of other books, so lets hope their stories are more interesting than Sloan and Noah's! But if it's a quick read you're after this one is it.
Rating: Summary: from jersey Review: i've read almost all of JM's books. and this is a bit lukewarm. i'm glad that paul finally got someone. in all honesty, i'm much more interested in sarah and jessup. now, there's some fireworks there. i can't wait to read more about their story.
Rating: Summary: One You'll Remember! Review: This book was great. Noah was wonderful, very handsome, and very smart. His sister shined, too. Sloan (who names their kid that, anyway?) was a great girl. Not a dull spot in the entire book. A real keeper! I could have done without Paul Richardson, though. He was a boob in PERFECT and wasn't much better here.
Rating: Summary: Stunning Storyteller when Night Whispers Silence! Review: Judith Macnaught is a stunning Storyteller especially when the Night Whispers Silence at midnight with its enthralling, masterful plots creating suspense. It has been great reading this book endlessly as it heads like a series of Stunts in the Bond movie Die Another Day. Judith's books are all Romantic filled with suspense leaving readers awed. The mystery shrouds around Sloan Reynolds whose upbringing was away from her family who suddenly invites her and she enters into her father's life when the FBI Agent Paul informs her that her father and his associates are suspected of fraud and murder. She hides her true profession and meets Noah to whom she is attracted and passes through a maze of deceit and passion as the story goes on. Quite capturing book, witty and romantic filled with plots. Night Whispers is jes a Superb Book - a wonderful love story, fast paced and a great page turner, my Pick for sure:-)
Rating: Summary: Fun book and great read!! Review: I have read several Judith McNaught books and I really enjoyed this one in particular. I have reread it several times and it's still great! I love the plot and I agree about the character, Courtney. . she's hilarious and the character says what the reader is thinking half the time. The plot is a modern romance with some family twists and even mystery/crime that will keep you page turning!
Rating: Summary: Fast Paced... Review: I'm the type of reader who has to be hooked from the beginning or I'll dump the book right away. This one got me hooked and reading until the very end which is a rare find these days. I'm not sure why the other readers were disappointed. I guess you just can't please everybody. But take it from me, if you have to have a fast-paced, exciting story to keep those pages turning, this is a great book to get. Perfect for the beach or those long plane rides...
Rating: Summary: Refreshing Book! Review: This is the first Judith McNaught book that I read and I hate to disagree with those who found it disappointing. I thoroughly enjoyed the story but shared the view that the hero, Noah, might seem a bit arrogant and too full of himself, and he should not deserve such a kind and caring heroine. However, I have to give credit to Ms McNaught's inclusion of the funny characters, Douglas and Courtney. Both of them made me laugh especially the out-spoken teenage Courtney. She bursted out remarks and questions that were embarrassing and unexpected to the audience which caused them a little off-balance. This might sound outrageous but it had the effect of breaking the ever proper and trite atmosphere that adults would conduct in behavior and carry in conversation, making the read more enjoyable and different from other stories. Nice touch, Ms McNaught!
