Rating: Summary: Get it from the Library, don't buy it. Review: Judith McNaught has written some wonderful books, this is not one of them. Paul, the manipulative FBI agent in Perfect, is back and as obnoxious as ever. It's a pity someone did not shot him in his sit upon. He ended up with Paris, who was too good for him, and he certainly did not do enought to end up with a wonderful girl. I hope to meet Jess & Sara in another book; sorry she didn't see fit to do more with them. Noah Maitland came off with too many shades of unexplained gray and black to end up as the good guy. After leaving Sloan Reynolds in jail, she should have written him off as a lost cause. She loved him enough to forgive him, but he did not love her enough to even listen. This is what she wanted to build a life on? Give women some credit for having brains. His father and sister were more likable. This story line needes alot more work.
Rating: Summary: Not up to Judith's usual par. Review: I have read many Judith McNaught novels and always loved her stories because she makes you really know and understand the characters. This book, however, falls far short. I found far too many unanswered questions in this book, and the book's outcome seemed so out of character for the heroine.
Rating: Summary: Expected little received great!! Review: when I started reading this book I was hook from the first page.I went online to get a review of what other readers had to say about " Night Whisper" before I ordered it from my book club, only to find it received poor reviews, so I didn't order the book. When a friend brought it to work for me to read and said it was great I was unsure if I was interested but took it anyway and I'm glad I did. Not only was it a wonderful romance but a good suspense story. I now look forward to ms. Mcnaught's next book.
Rating: Summary: Not her best Review: Not as good as previous books. The hero wasn't introduced until after page 100 or so, and he wasn't even very interesting. The characters were mostly a bunch of silly people, I wanted to slap them. Not a lot of depth there. I can see what her next book is going to be though, the story of the cop Jessup and Sara.
Rating: Summary: It ain't the usual "McNaught". Review: I have waited for this book since i first heard that Judith will have a new one coming out. I really love her books especially Perfect, Paradise, Whitney My Love, etc... but this book is so different from her previous books. The twist is so plain. It seemed unfinished. I really love Judith because she manages to make you feel what the characters in the story feel, their pain and grief, their happiness and all that, she concentrated on the emotions of the people and you can even get a good "lesson" from her stories, but this time I feel that she concentrated more on the techicalities of the book, like how a police station work and a life of a policeman, yeah i know that she reall really did her homework here, but this is a romance paperback, people ( for me ) buy a romance paperback for it deals with emotions and all that but then this time it's not that. I'm sorry but the story is a bit shallow and seems unfinished. So much question is still left in my brain after i read it, like what happened to the Hanover Trust? How come there were hints here and there of Noah's illegal activities but then he came out clean? And a bunch more. Judith loves to include her "old" characters in the scene of a new one like she did with Perfect (with Meredith and Matt) then in Almost Heaven ( with Alexandra and Jordan) they play a bit of an important role, but this time Julie was only mentioned !!! Then she kindda seems like a coniving lady there. So much unlike Julie !!! This books seems like so unfinished. Just see how she sums it all up in the epilogue !
Rating: Summary: Don't buy it! Review: I was very disappionted after reading Night Whispers. I am an avid Mcnaught and have read all her other books at least twice; this is definitely her worst.
Rating: Summary: Major disappointment Review: Well, like everyone, I was anxiously awaiting the release of this book and even treated myself to the hardback. What a mistake. With all due respect, Ms. McNaught really didn't take her time with this one. I agree with all the other reviewers who said Night Whispers is just not up to her usual standards and that the characters were so rushed. We never really get to know them or feel their passion. A couple of kisses and a hurried lovemaking left me feeling like an unwanted reader. Her best love scenes usually last several pages. Most of her books leave me actually missing the characters and sneaking peeks at them again while I'm in between books. All of the characters needed more detail, especially Courtney who was a riot. All of her books should be at least 500 pages. Paradise didn't even seem as long as it was because it was so good! Oh well, in the meantime, I'll just reread my favorites! But I won't be rereading this one. Sorry!
Rating: Summary: A good read, however not up to Ms.McNaught standards. Review: The story line was a bit weak and left a lot ???'s unanswered. I was disappointed in the handling of Jess and Sara, unless that is another story altogether. I feel that a book about them would have more possibilities. I liked Jess and Sara much more than Sloan and Noah. I have really enjoyed all of Ms. McNaught's books feel that maybe she was out of her realm with the mystery angle.
Rating: Summary: very endearing, interesting characters, fast paced, great! Review: This is another hit for Judith McNaught. The characters are interesting and endearing. The pace of the story makes the book another 'page turner'. The romance, intrigue, and suspense really kept my attention and made me sad to finish the book. For those familiar with "Remember When", you'll be reminded of that story toward the end of the book. And this one may be even better than "Remember When". Enjoy!
Rating: Summary: a disappointment for this loyal fan Review: I have read every Judith McNaught book published, and unfortunately, this is similar to Remember When and not to her earlier novels. Her detailed characterizations used to be outstanding, and now they are only mediocre. Her last few novels have seemed so superficial. The relationship between Sloan and Noah doesn't seem to be based on anything significant at all, and there were many loose ends at the end of the novel. I should have waited for the paperback!
