Summary: Not very impressed.
Review: O.K. I have been reading her books ever since I read the first one, Perfect and I was hooked. I guess I just liked the romance that takes place. Night Whispers in a way, shows Judith's style. Everything is good for a while and then something has to go wrong. As usual, I always feel that she leaves me hanging at the end of the book where we are supposed to assume that everything is perfect. I did not like the way Noah treated Sloan towards the end in Night Whispers though.

Summary: A Must Read!!
Review: Rarely do I find a book that I cannot bear to put down, but Night Whispers was one of them! Not since Paradise, has Ms. McNaught written such an exciting story about two complex and interesting people. I thought Noah was the perfect hero - brooding, arrogant, cynical with alot of bad history behind him. But Sloan was his savior and she was written so beautifully.

I've been a fan for many years, and unlike alot of the Big Time romance authors, Ms. McNaught keeps getting better!

Summary: A pretty good book, but there were a few things missing.
Review: I agree with many other people who wrote reviews. I was very disappointed that the relationship between Jess and Sara was not explored at all. She may use them in another book, but I had hoped that Judith McNaught would at least give us some happy ending for them. I also thought that Paul and Paris' relationship was underdeveloped. Too much time was spent on the suspense and not on the romance.

Summary: Disappointing Read
Review: As well as many others who have taken time to submit a review of this book, I was extremely disappointed with it. I have absolutely loved each and every one of Judith McNaught's other books, particularly Perfect. This book lacked her normally wonderful characters and storylines. I was confused throughout much of this book, and baffled by how quickly relationships were formed and unformed. Some relationships were started and never followed through, and I can't for the life of me figure out how Paul and Paris fell in love since they never spent any time together. Finally, what does "Night Whispers" have to do with ANYTHING in the story? My guess is that the title and cover were more about attracting a different group of readers than anything to do with the actual story.

Summary: Still Love Judith even though not her best book
Review: I remembered Noah Maitland's name from another of her books (I hope) so that was fun. Several times (3) the characters names were mixed up (bad editing guys) so it was confusing for a bit. Always enjoy her books and even bought this one in hardback. Worth the read but not as intense as some of her others. I'll read them all and so should you if you love Judith McNaught. Editors take note of the 3 errors. Ugh.

Summary: DISSAPOINTING DRUDGERY
Review: I have read every single Judith Mcnaught book to date and have to say that I am a little dissapointed in her last 2 novels. I miss the love, romance and spirit of her previous novels. I am not sure if this new writing style is a fluke, or if she is attempting to following a Sandra Brown, mystery-action-romance trend. I love her work and presently have found no other romantic writer who can compare to her previous style and class in works such as "A Kingdom of Dreams", "Paradise" and "Whitney My Love". I urge Judith to continue to write these historical romances that readers have proven to love. I hope that she ceases this new trendy style that thus far her faithful readers have proven to dislike.

Summary: Good, but not what I expected.
Review: Judith McNaught is one of my favorite authors. I have read almost all of her material and couldn't wait to read this one. However, when I finished with the book I thought, "Did I miss something here?". Then I wanted to see what others readers thought and decided to look for the reviews at AmazonBooks. Guess what? Several readers apparently feel the same way did. Happy to read a McNaught, but a little disappointed with the content. I liked the way the character of Sloan was developed and actually thought a relationship was going to develop between her and Jess Jessup for a while. In general, I liked the book; but all of the characters besides Sloan and Paul Richardson seemed somewhat underdeveloped. I'm looking forward to a better development of some of the other characters in future books

Summary: What Happened Judith?
Review: I purchased my book through the Doubleday Book Club (sorry Amazon, it will never happen again), and I thought they were beginning to abridge their books. This book only had 54 chapters, and compared to the 87 in Perfect, it was very short, and felt like entire chapters were missing. There was virtually NO character development in the male lead, Noah. All I can tell you about him is that he's rich and gorgeous. One thing that makes Ms. McNaughts books stand out is the rich character development. By the end of one of her novels, I'm usually so wrapped up in these peoples lives, I don't want the book to end. Well, this book ended, and I thought, "that's it?" There was a wonderful opportunity to have a couple of great subplots in the characters of Paul and Paris, and Jess and Sara, but they just fizzled out. I don't understand it. The writing itself was pure Judith McNaught, but it was as if she shortened it to make a deadline, or wrote it in a hurry. Usually, I feel great after I finish one of her books, historical or contemporary. But this time I just felt cheated. Please Judith, if you ever decide to have a go at this story again, tell us more! You're one of my favorite authors, but Night Whispers just didn't measure up. If there are some missing chapters somewhere in your computer that didn't make the final cut, please put them back in. I would relish this story if it were only more complete.

Summary: Not her worst, but certainly not her best
Review: I just finished Night Whispers and I can't say I was totally disappointed but she has definitely written better. This read like a Jayne Ann Krentz or a Sandra Brown - lots of action, interesting plot, lots of fun - but - what's the word? Forgettable? I really liked the character of Sloan, and even Paris. But for once the main male lead, Noah, did nothing for me. Yes, he was handsome, sexy and rich (aren't they all??) but his heart didn't seem as warm, nor was he as charmingly vulnerable as many of McNaught's leading men can be. I was pleased that Paul Richardson, the FBI agent, made a reappearance here because I really liked him in PERFECT (one of my all-time favourite books) and was pleased he got a happy ending of his own. The plot was moving along so predictably at one point I was yawning but the conclusion speeded up nicely and the ending wasn't half bad. But as I say - I won't remember the details of it in six months. It's not a keeper. If you want her keepers? Read KINGDOM OF DREAMS and PERFECT. They are what McNaught can really do.
