Summary: A wonderful book with equal parts romance and mystery
Review: This book was a little different from her others and I thought at first it was going to be disappointing but was I wrong. It kept me wondering all the way through how they were going to catch Noah! A really enjoyable day was spent with this book.

Summary: Not her best, but not as bad as Remember When
Review: I've been a huge fan since the first time I picked up one of her books. I own all of them, and thought she couldn't write a book I wouldn't love. Until Remember When. It had the core of one of her classics, and you could see the potential there, but it was never fleshed out. This one was definitely a step up, but still not up to par with her usual work. What happened to the dialogue that made you laugh out loud? The heroes you wanted for yourself? The heroines you wanted to be? Disappointing, to say the least.

Summary: Too Simplistic
Review: The writing style of this book was geared to a 13 or 14 year old girl. I stuck with it hoping things would evolve. They never did.

Summary: Awful, awful, awful
Review: What a waste of time. This book is just terrible. The characters are one-dimensional and totally unbelieveable and unsympathetic. The plot is so ridiculous. I've read McNaught before and wasn't that impressed -- this book confirms that assessment.

Summary: get it from the library like I did
Review: This was definately not one of her best. What is up lately with her writing?

I have not seen this mentioned but I was thrown at first when the love interest was Noah. I was reading along and wondering when things would happen with Paul, then, BAM, here the girl is in love with Noah. I actually went back a few pages to make sure I had things right.

Usually Judith McNaught is such a wonderful writer. I loved her historicals and most of the contemorary titles. I just hope her next book is better.

Summary: Esthatic!
Review: Night Whispers was undoubtly another masterpiece created by mcNaught. Although the first few chapters was quite slow, but the pace was increasingly good when Sloan met Noah. I could even feel the heat and i could not help smiling. McNAught is increasingly good at creating characters.

Summary: A good romance, but disappointing for one written by Judith
Review: I found Night Whispers to be rather disappointing when compared with her historical romances and her other modern novels such as Paradise, which is my favorite, and Double Standard.

To me, Judith McNaught's strength has always been in creating exceptional heros and heroines who prove their love for one another through betrayals and forgiveness - scenes that have always drawn such strong emotional responses from me. When I first read her book - A Kingdom of Dreams - I was sold on he. Since then I have bought every single book of hers. Her ability to beautiful emotional romantic novels was exceptioanl, and I could see many fine authors emulating her style.

But in her recent novels - Remember When and Night Whispers, her style of writing has changed. It almosts seems like she has run out of ideas and uses the same format over and over again. In fact, I like her format- hero meets herione with no intention to fall in love, but does against all odds; she betrays him in some way, and she shows her love for him in such a way that he forgives her and loves her forever after. But she has always created such beautiful scenerios that I would never have minded reading hundreds more of her books in that very same format, had she put more of her efforts her new novels as she had for her previous ones.

In Night Whispers, she spends too much time writng about the heroine's character and her family background. And she goes into too much detail in scenes that seem not at all significant. She has always been a superlative romance story teller. But now it seems she wants to write novels that incline towards family rather than that of two lovers. She spends more than half the book on the heroines and her family's background and on other insignificant detail, and leaving less than half on the romance between the hero and the heroine.

If Judith reads these comments, I would like to ask her to go back to her old style of writing which I love and miss very much.

I am still always and forever her fan.

Summary: What A Dissapointing Read!
Review: I've been McNaught's fan for the last 8 years, having devoured all her books with the exception of "Remember When" and "Tender Triumph". She has always been better at historical romances than at modern ones, save for "Perfect" (her best novel and heroine ever!). I couldn't help but be dissapointed by McNaught's new style of writing which I find boring. She takes almost forever to describe a scene even though it is insignificant to the story. Except for Sloane (the heroine), the other characters are underdeveloped. I forced myself to finish the book coz I've bought it. There is not much chemistry between Sloane and Noah (the "hero"). Besides, Noah isn't exactly a very likeable hero. I find him arrogant. I think that if this were a true story, even though Sloan and Noah got together at the end, they may not have a happy ending/marriage - coz of Noah's rather insensitive, pig-headed and arrogant attitudes. I wish McNaught would stick to what she consistently does best - producing beautiful historical romances where the hero is proud but kind and gentlemanly, and the heroine is younger (not as "old" as Sloane who's 29), a little naive yet charming to no end.

Summary: Great reading until the last chapter
Review: Judith McNaught is my favorite author. I've turned many of my avid romance reading friends on to her books because there is none better. Night Whispers is a great read but the ending left you felling robbed. Like so many of McNaught's stories you can visualize the future of your characters long after the story is over. Sloan and Noah's ending seemed to be rush. Instead of the long steamy romantic scenes that is so much a part of McNaught's writings, this ending was sweet and much to short. On the other hand, the characters are charming and will quickly win your favor. Sloan was a great character and the type of heroine you would expect from McNaught. Sloan and I are in the same profession and I admire women who are strong, independant and have enough confidence in themselves to thrive in a "man's world." but still be a lady that captures a man's heart and soul.( Like Sloan did Noah's.) Noah is a handsome, powerful and rich man who wants a genuine women with character and class that can't be purchased with money. He reminds me of Clayton Westmoreland, the Duke of Claymore. No woman can forget them. Honorable and unforgettable. Despite the abrupted ending Night Whispers is still a worthwhile read. Here are others that will enchant you: Whitney My Love ( the best love story ever) A Kingdom of Dreams, Tender Triumph, Almost Heaven, Until You, Paradise, Perfect, the list goes on and on. Thanks for the wonderful stories that have touch my heart so many times. McNaught is the Best!!!!!!!

Summary: Like all her contemporaries, it was awful.
Review: I'm probably going to commit blasphemy with all the McNaught fans out there, but I don't think the woman can write a contemporary romance to save her life. This includes Paradise, Perfect, etc., etc. The plots are SO unbelievable and SO far removed from reality. Don't get me wrong, romance novels are intended to be entertainment but when I read a contemporary romance that has some outlandish plotting in it, I usually end up throwing it against the wall. McNaught's contemporaries UNIFORMLY have this plotting problem!!!!
