Summary: Not one of Judith Mcnaught's best.
Review: I was looking forward to this book, until I read it. Judith McNaught is one of my favorite writers, but I was very disappointed in her most recent effort. This book seemed to be more like a debut novel instead of one from a well written author. The story line and plot were good, but the developement of characters was slow and never really brought forth. It was no where in the line with Paradise, my favorite contempory novel by her, or Whitney My Love, McNaught's best historical novel. I only hope McNaught doesn't try to go the same route as Sandra Brown and try to write mystery. Brown bombed at it. I hope McNaught has better judgement, and realizes what a great romance novelist she is. They should both stick to what they know. I almost didn't finish this book, which is something I've never done. Anything I start, I always finish. I still wait with high anticipation for McNaught's next novel.

Summary: good book but..who proofread this one?
Review: All of J. Mcnaught's books are good reads and I have yet to be disappointed in any of them but...who ever was suppose to edit this one missed alot and it was very disappointing when you are in the middle of this story and they call the character by another name. This didn't happen once but three times! When it was about "Paris" the book would mistakening call the character "Sloan". It took something away from the book because I got the impression that it was put togehter quickly.

Summary: A GREAT READ!!
Review: NIGHT WHISPERS is not another PARADISE or PERFECT, but it is a great read. It's a story filled with betrayal, secrets, doubts, intrigue, and best of all a passionate love. Sloan and Noah are fantastic. I was glad to see that Paul Richardson, the FBI agent from PERFECT, finally found his match. Noah's sister was hilarious. And Sloan's mother and Noah's father were enchanting and delightful. You'll enjoy this book. I recommend it wholeheartedly.

Summary: I only read ONCE!!!!
Review: I read all of Ms Mcnaught's writing repeatedly but this book. Very disappointed. I've waited so long after "Until You". You can write much better than this. I'm hopping for next!!! Don't let us down Ms Mcnaught. Please go back to your usual like "Whiney, My love", "Once and Always", "Kingdom of Dreams", "Almost Heaven", "Paradise", "Double Standard" and "Remember When". My favourite is "Whiney, My Love" .

Summary: I enjoyed the book very much
Review: My first book of Judith McNaught was PARADISE and from then on ... I was hooked. I have read all her books and I love each and every one of them. I love all the characters in Night Whisper but I must say I was hoping Paul Richardson gets a full story of his own after Perfect. So I am terribly disappointed. I am also disappointed with the way Sloan and Noah make up at the end. Other than that, it is fantastic. Ms. Judith if you are reading this review, please give Courtney Maitland a full story of her own. Her character is refreshing, funny, witty and strong. I think she will make a fantastic heroine. In fact better than any other main female characters if given a chance.

Summary: The incomparable Judith McNaught once again delivers !
Review: I absolutely treasure Ms. McNaught's novels, no one can ever replace from the top of my pedestal. I began reading her novels at the age of twelve, (I'm fifteeen years old,)and have since read each novel at least three times. To say that she is simply a magnificent writer is to underexaggerate. Night Whispers is perfect, just like all Ms.McNaught's other novels. She writes of love as no other human being can.Ms.McNaught is a beautiful, wonderful writer and one only hopes that the heroes in her novels can be found in the real world!

Summary: A GREAT BOOK.
Review: I enjoyed the book, but I felt it could've used some extra pages let's say at least 100. The book was too short. I would've liked more details on Noah and Sloan. And the ending definetly needed more.Since the book was too short maybe Judith McNaught should consider writing a sequel.

Summary: A mediocre work from a magnificent author
Review: I love Judith McNaught and all of her books, so I was very disappointed in this story. She did a good job of developing a suspense thriller but her development of characters and their relationships was weak. I kept waiting for another Matt Farrell and Meredith Bancroft. I felt that there were many loose strings left in this novel, especially many unanswered questions about Noah Maitland. I hope Ms. McNaught takes her time with the next novel and combines a suspenseful story with real character development and intercharacter relationships. I know she can because she is only one of two romance authors that I read and she is superb!

Summary: Good story, could have been steamier though
Review: I've read reviews by others and I agree with some. The story could certainly use more development in the lines of the romance between Noah and Sloan. Judith McNaught, however, was obviously too caught up in the plot. But that's not so horrible like others put it across. Though there is a recycling of old themes, the story line was still superb and could only come from McNaught herself. The finale was a bit of anti-climatic though. In Kingdom Of Dreams, Jenifer knelted to Roland; Whitney, Clayton served Whitney; Paradise; Mer makes up with Matt and we are reminded of them shaking hands. All tears inducing. Now, Noah simply... well, read it yourself. If McNaught is indeed going to wander off into romance-suspense, I implore her not to short- change the emotions that make her books worth reading again and again. All in all, an above average novel.

Summary: Recyling Old Themes
Review: The standard formula for a Judith McNaught book seems to be: one suave billionaire + one innocent ingenue + several wisecracking sidekicks, all slotted into a reused plot line of the heroine betraying the hero (or appearing to), causing a dreadful misunderstanding, and finding out that they love each other after all in the end. Night Whispers is no different. Noah Maitland is a virtual reincarnation of Matt Farrell from Paradise. And Sloan Reynolds is Meredith Bancroft. Sara is Lisa. And Mr. Maitland is like Mr. Farrell (the fathers). Change the plot line, add some different minor characters, and maybe even change the time period and location, and voila, you have a new McNaught novel. I have not minded her recyling of old themes that much in the past, due to the good writing that went along with it and which made such recycling palatable. But her past two books are just too much to bear.

Night Whispers, as many other readers have pointed out, is a vast improvement on Remember When. Nevertheless, there are serious problems with the book. Sloan was a little too perfect for my taste, and the dark side of Noah was not explored enough to make him a three-dimensional character. The final resolution was far too short and unsatisfying. The book needed to be at least a 100 pages longer in order to fully explore the other side relationships that were brought up but virtually left to the readers' imaginations. The relationships of Jessup and Sara, Mr. Maitland and Kimberly Reynolds, Paris and Paul all suffered severely from this underdevelopment. Some minor characters were gems, however, namely Edith Reynolds and Courtney Maitland. It's just way too bad that the main characters weren't as intriguing.

I don't mind this attempt of Judith McNaught to venture into the romantic suspense genre. I think it is worth exploring, but she needs to get her writing back to its old standards before such an attempt can work.
