Summary: Night Whispers????
Review: After reading all of Ms. McNaught's books, I found this to be similar in plot, but not as deep. I liked the characters, but was disappointed in the end. Several relationships were brought to a hasty close with little or no interaction. After having read Perfect and Paradise (which I've reread several times) this one left me wanting more. The editing was a little sloppy as well. Twice, there were references to the wrong character and I had to read again to avoid confusion. I purchased the hardcover of this one, but should have waited for the paperback, (especially after Remember When)! All in all, it still kept me entertained enough to continue reading her work.

Summary: PLEASE READ ME!
Review: I (like most other Judith McNaught) fans fell in love with her books after Whitney, My Love. And have loved all her books. But I am disappointed to read about the ones with negative comments on this book. Comments on how Sloan wasn't changed by love or pieces wrong or missing. Sloan wasn't changed because her goal in life was clear, were as Noah's wasn't and his life/attitude changed with the love from Sloan. And if you found pieces missing from this book, I feel sorry for you because you missed a moving tale. I engross myself in these books and always leave with a tear, laugh, and smile. Please read parts of it again for it is well worth it. Or if you are a first time fan, read Whitney, My Love. Although this one was not near as emotional as Judiths other's it definately deserves applause, not condems. Keep them coming Ms. McNaught.

Review: After reading some of the comments from others, I am left wondering if they read the book, Night Whispers by Judith McNaught or a knock-off book with the same title. I agree with "PatycakeOO-USA, , Night Whispers was "totally awesome" It had everthing in it that makes a GREAT NOVEL. I want to thank Ms. McNaught for sharing her incredible talent with us and showing that she is truly capable of writing "Best Sellers" again and again. I am eagerly waiting for Waters Edge and will be first in line when it is released.

Summary: What "Night Whispers?"
Review: After Whitney, My Love, Judith McNaught became my favorite author. When I saw that her most recent novel had finally made it to paperback, I grabbed it and ran to buy it. I was practically salivating by the time I sat down and almost reverently open the book to read.Yuck. What happened to the Judith McNaught who created characters and situations that made you cry? The plot had potential. This novel didn't even touch that potential. What "Night Whispers?" Did I miss something? Shame on you, Judith. Please don't disappoint your loyal fans again.

Summary: I'd have chosen NO STARS if that was an option
Review: I read this book on a friend's recommendation. Normally I wouldn't have finished it, but I kept thinking that I must get through to the end of this book and then all would make sense! This is a story full of holes and uninteresting dialog. I thought I might find something familiar in this book since I used to live in Palm Beach area but there was nothing familiar! I don't think Ms. McNaught has ever been near there!! I'm still puzzling over how these romances developed out of this stupid story. This was THE worst book I have ever read.

Summary: Its good, but not realistic at all
Review: I bought this book to read on a plane ride and I must admit that I could not let go of the book. Chapter after chapter I read thinking that it was the best book I had ever read. But then, i noticed there were times when descriptions of uncessesary objects took up pages. Everything was actually very predictable. A meets B. A likes B. B likes A. A hurts B. B hates A. A begs B. B forgives A. Wow. Add to this a boring family history and u have a somewhat boring yet addictive book. The ending made me wonder if I was missing pages. All in all, I read it in one day, so regardless it could not have been too bad. I recomend it to people who stick to books after they buy them, like I had to do

Summary: Different, but still Good
Review: I really enjoyed Night Whispers. It started off a bit slow, but then I got really into it. It is very different from the usual Judith McNaught novels, but I thought it still had the same quality as her others. I am looking forward to the Water's Edge.

Summary: Is S&S trying to destroy Judith M?
Review: Judith McNaught clearly needs more time to write her books. Instead of 2 below average books like Night Whispers & Remember When I'd rather have 1 *good* book like Perfect (or even better a *great* one like Whitney). In their desire to make money off of Judith, her mercenary Simon & Schuster editors let her come out with 2 bad books in row (although Night is *somewhat* an improvement over Remember When.) They seem to have no concern for her reputation or legacy. Judith McNaught can and should be to Romance what Stephen King is to Horror. She clearly has the talent but she NEEDS a new house! She needs people to protect her and keep her on track! As for the book... Sloan, the heroine, was "likeable" and easy to admire but you didn't "feel" her pain/love/conflict. And Noah was very sketchy. He seemed like a Ken doll you transferred emotion and thoughts onto. Sloan and Noah seemed like they would have made great SECONDARY characters in another novel. Courtney, the sister, was the best part of the book and her zest and spirit make it clear that Judith can still craft great characters -- she just doesn't seem to realize which characters should be front and center and which should be supporting. Paul, Sloan's FBI "friend" and a returning player from Perfect, was far more dynamic and interesting than Noah -- he was also more obnoxious, too (judging Paris and manipulating Sloan). I think Paul is actually more in the vein of her better heroes -- Matt, Clayton, Ian, Jordan, etc. They were great heroes because you sometimes weren't sure if you should like them or not. There was no mystery or tension about Noah. ALSO.... another part -- the most essential part -- of the McNaught formula is the *change* the heroine undergoes. Sloan is a great character but she doesn't grow or change! LOVE is supposed to effect a change on the hero AND the heroine. It *seemed* that somewhere on the backburner, shy Paris was being changed by Paul, and it seemed that Jess could have changed materialistic Sara and certainly "Prince Charming" (whoever that may be) could change cynical Courtney. Noah, however, really doesn't do anything to make fabulous Sloan any cooler than she already is. Watching conservative Sheridan risk it all for Stephen or timid Meredith stand up to her dad is very gratifying. And although Night Whispers was, in some ways, a technically good novel, it was not gratifying at all. I have read all of McNaught's work and except for Night Whispers and Remember When I would say they are all good or even great. 2 bad novels out of a dozen or so good ones isn't anything to be ashamed about BUT the fact that her 2 most recent novels are the ones that have "failed" (and nearly everyone I know who reads JM agrees with me on this) is alarming.

Review: I almost didn't read this book because the reviews weren't great. I decided to give it a try anyway because I am a big fan of Judith McNaught. I loved it! It was hard to put down. I am sure I will be reading it over and over like I do all her others.
