Rating: Summary: Hilarity at its best. Review: I love Sarah. She's just hilarious.I read this book when I had mono and I read it in 5 hours, laughing hysterically throughout. The beginning dragged, but then, all at once, it became overwhelmingly funny. She reminded me of me, of my history with men, and of how psychotic men follow me home and...relieve themselves on my apartment stairs. It's a great read for anyone in their twenties who enjoys a good laugh. Pick it up, rent it at the library, do what you need to do to get this book!
Rating: Summary: More Bridget Jones girl power! Review: Apparently I am an avid reader of the "Bridget Jones" genre of books. I really enjoyed this book. The characters were real and likable and the emphasis was on girl power. Its great how the main character can over come the heartbreak of her jerk bf Jeremy and move on... but without a hilarious and haphazard journey. Definitely good read especially for single gals in their 20's. Makes you feel like you arent alone!
Rating: Summary: Lactose intolerant.... Review: Run from this book--even if you aren't lactose intolerant! Disappointing and trivial heroine, this story has been told a hundred times and a hundred times better. Totally predictable, boring and annoying. The only thing that kept me reading was trying to catch all of the "Canadianisms" in a story supposedly written from the point of view of a Connecticut-bred, Penn-educated, Boston-inhabitant.
Rating: Summary: Perfect mix of twenty-something angst and laughs! Review: The perfect mix of twenty-something love troubles and work issues. Relating to Jack was not hard and made me feel less guilty about not being able to clean the bathroom even though "the mold growing in the tub" starts to get scary looking!
Rating: Summary: Get Milk! Review: This book is (yes) another 20-something BJones, but it's still worth reading. I felt like I was on the phone with my best friend gossiping about bars, boys and boots. It made me want to get off my couch and back into the dating scene. This book will make you laugh and laugh and laugh.
Rating: Summary: milkrun for another book Review: I must admit there were a few instances in "Milkrun" when I laughed, but for the most part I was disappointed. Jackie repeatedly describes herself as "intelligent," yet I didn't see any actual proof of this in her behavior. For instance, how could she not guess that her copyeditor-superior (I forget her name) had written a book she had Jackie review? Perhaps Mlynowski was trying to give only subtle hints to the reader, but to have Jackie act so obliviously makes me think Jackie is kidding herself when she thinks she's smart. My advice: Run for another book.
Rating: Summary: Don't leave me hanging!... Review: Jackie has fun friends, a great job (in my opinion), and her dating life seems, well, normal if you're in your twenties. I enjoyed reading this book until I reached the "non" ending and I feel like I was robbed!... No "real" ending, no Epilogue with a happy ending??? It left me guessing and confused, knowing Jackie, this could end up to be so many different scenarios, who's to say that she'd come back and end up with Andrew, she's just apt to find a cowboy in Paris & never come back. Now I'll have to buy "Fishbowl" to see if this story continues---what a great marketing ploy.
Rating: Summary: Milk Allergy Review: The Diary of Bridgett Jones was a great book. Unfortunately with every great book, there are attempted knockoffs. This is one of them. It is one of the worst unfortunately. The writing is choppy, and the characters, despite the author's intent, are boring. Some books are hard to put down. This was not one of them.
Rating: Summary: Sassy fun! Review: I could not put this book down. This book reminded me how much fun it is to have girlfriends! The emails back and forth between the girls were hilarious! The narrative was witty, smart, and comedic. At one point I thought Sarah was writting about my own life! I could totally relate to Jack. I wish it never ended. I can't wait for her next book Fishbowl due next month!
Rating: Summary: Great book for any woman- single or not! Review: I bought this book for myself and my two best girl friends, soley based on the reviews on this website. Wow, was I impressed! This book was funny, heart-warming, and we all loved it. It was a quick read and I whipped through it in about 2 days- I just couldn't put it down! Any woman who has EVER been in the single world will appreciate this book! A must read!
