Summary: Jackie the Crazy Dating Girl
Review: This is Mlynowski's first book! It's a quick read and I absolutely loved it. Some negative critics are saying that Jackie is too self-centered, but aren't most 20-something females? Believe me, I know plenty- and I can be one at times too!

Jackie gets dumped via email and swears she will bounce back. She tries dating but isn't having any luck. Her life doesn't get any easier when the EX returns and when her roommate also splits from her longtime boyfriend. After a while, Jackie realizes the guy of her dreams was right under her nose all along... It's a great read- SPLURGE and I think you'll love it!

Summary: I hate the term chick lit...but I loved this book
Review: This might not be the intellectual type of reading that people brag about having read but it was a great fast read. I found myself identifying with the main character and it was fun to watch her dive back into the dating scene...and meet some interesting and not-so interesting guys... great for a quick entertaining read.

Summary: Relax and amuse yourself whit this book!
Review: I think we need books like this, fresh, brilliant, sparkling whit joie de vivre. It's not perfect, I admit, but the vivacity and the youthfulness of the athmosphere made me pardon the errors and the brittle plot. As for the critics: hey, this isn't War and Peace, neither this is Couples by John Updike, this is a relaxing book to read when you need to unwind. Enjoy it!

Summary: Jackie rocks!
Review: This book isn't like Bridget Jone's Diary and thank God for small favors. While I loved the movie, the book of BJD was depressing and not at all enjoyable. If it weren't for Hugh Grant and Renee Zellweger I wouldn't have been able to sit through the movie either.
Milkrun is histerical. I laughed out loud many times. It is a fun and quick read.
I really liked the emails and phone calls. This book will also make a great movie or series.
It sreams funny! Don't listen to the bad reviews. If you are on the fence about this book, buy it! It is worth the money and then if you want you can give it at the Christmas gift exchange, (most people do one of these at some point, if you don't,you know what I mean).

Summary: Loved it!!
Review: Really enjoyed the way this book was written - for 20-somethings BY a 20-something, instead of someone trying to remember what it's like to be 20. Jackie is so ME. The other characters were all really funny and I couldn't stop laughing. Read it!

Summary: Better research needed
Review: Advice to this author...or any author...do your research before you write about a city. No where in Boston (or its suburbs) can you get a two bedroom apartment for $500 per month -- especially in Back Bay. Also, there's no such thing as "rent control" in Massachusetts and the clubs described in the book just don't exist in our city limits. I know I'm being picky...but things like that completely throw me out of a story and make me think the writer didn't take five minutes to find out where they were writing about.

Red Dress Ink seems to be in love with this writer as they continue to offer her book deals, but she's got to write something different and not so cutesy-wootsie, I'm so hip I hurt stories. This story is fluff with very little character development or substance. The writer has a fresh voice and tries, but it's just not the type of story that sticks to the roof of your mouth.

Skip it and keep the [money] in your pocket.

Review: Definitely a beach read. I was bummed that I spent the money on it. If you are choosing a book club book, this isn't it. It is very short, predictable and you'll be done discussing it in about 10 minutes. While I agree that the dating stories were funny and relatable, I found the stream of concsious writing style a bit confusing. There were times when you had to reread pages because you couldn't tell if the character was speaking aloud or thinking.

Also, a bit of a pet peeve, there were at least three places where incorrect grammar and words were used. The main character is a copy editor...guess the copy editor at Red Dress Ink didn't find the book interesting enough to catch the mistakes.

Summary: So so if you aren't looking for much
Review: This isn't a bad book, it's just not interesting. Jackie, unfortunately, isn't particularly likeable. She's not a bad person, she's just self-centered and shallow, and her affairs are pretty boring, so you can't find yourself rooting for her. ...

The biggest irony is aparently lost on the author; her protagonist is an editor of romance novels ... and this book is heavily riddled with careless and distracting typos. ...

Mlynowski probably has a decent novel in her, and since this is her first attempt I will check back in the future when she's gotten a bit more practice (and hopefully a better editor.) She's got the talent to write; she just needs to find a story.
