Rating: Summary: Did I write this?? Review: I'm mid-book and love it! This morning, I was laughing out loud on the train to work. I see myself and my friends in Jackie. I must tell my best friend/roommate once a day that she is reading this as soon as I'm done.
Rating: Summary: Good get over the ex boyfriend reading material Review: I especially like her list for "How to Recover from a breakup" pg. 22, my friends and I cracked up over it.
Rating: Summary: Great chick lit!! Review: This book entered my life unexpectedly. I accidently picked it up instead of another more practicle read. I was delighted by the error. I love the characters in the book and their antics. This is a great twenty-something read for getting over a breakup or exploring a new viceral self.
Rating: Summary: A must read for all 20-something females!! Review: I think that all women over the age of 20 need to read this book! The author shows how someone who we think is perfect, really has some qualities that are completely unattractive. I saw myself as well as many of frineds thorugh out this entire book, everyone has had some of these same things happen to them at one time or another.
Rating: Summary: Mlynowski Shines! Review: Absolutely love Sarah's voice! Sometimes it can be a little bit awkward to read her stream-of-conciousness style, but she is hilarious and truly tells it like it is. Reading Milkrun was like listening to my best friend tell me about her life, not just reading a story in a book. Definitely recommend to friends!
Rating: Summary: low-budget Bridget Review: I have to agree with the Dallas reader. Maybe I shouldn't have used this book to crush out a cigarette at page 63, but man, it's too painful to read any further. All this book really seems to do is babble about stupid minutiae. Hey, I like chick lit as much as the next, but come on. Don't insult me with this dribble. Read The Parker Grey Show instead. The editing is much better and the main character is so much more interesting.
Rating: Summary: Interesting Cover, Bad Title, Stupid Book Review: This was the worst book of all of the Chick-Lit ones I have read. The only thing semi-original about it was the setting, with it taking place in Boston compared to New York. But Jackie ended up going New York and her friends lived there. So many of the problems I had with it were allready mentioned; such as the poor editing. Did anyone else notice that her roomate suddenly switched from teaching fourth grade to fifth grade halfway through? It also annoyed me how Jeremey was referred to as "Jer." I have never, ever heard that stupid nickname used. If the author thought that Jeremey was too long to keep writing she should have chosen another name. Jackie was not likeable and rude, I really didn't care whom she ended up with. Characters were indistinguishable and it was hard for me to ellict sympathy for any of them. The ending was unrealistic and rushed. This is the type of book that makes people think of Chick-Lit fans as uneducated readers that will read anything with a pink cover.
Rating: Summary: Best Chick Lit So Far!! Review: Milkrun was the first chick lit book I've read in a while, and although I've read several others since Milkrun, I can't seem to find anything that measures up. The novel is easy to read and hard to put down. Every time I set down the book in the middle of one of Jackie's wild dates, I felt like I was missing out on the fun. Sarah Mlynowski is byfar my favorite author, and the only book that I've found since Milkrun that kept my attention is As Seen On TV, and I can't wait to read Fishbowl as soon as I can get my hands on it! I definitly recommend this book to anyone and everyone, especially if you're single or fresh out of a long-term relationship. Way to go Sarah!!
Rating: Summary: Laughing out Loud! Review: This was the secound sarah Mlynowski novel that I read and I really can relate to her writing style. I think that I think like her characters, with all the random things that go throught there heads. I would recomend this book to women who are in thier 20 to 30's and are looking for something fun and entertaining. There was a lot of part where I was actaully laughing out loud. The only thing that I didn't like to much was the ending becuase I personally need things to be more finished. But I wouldn't hold it against the book at all. It was a wonderful read.
Rating: Summary: Now THIS is a cute book Review: I'm getting so sick of this single-something genre, but this book, as well as Fishbowl, is pretty good.
