Rating: Summary: A Quick Page Turner! Review: This author has an apparent gift for writing fiction. Although this is only his second piece of fictional work, it's obvious that he's got natural talent. Mr. Baisden's latest title is drama filled, fun fast-paced reading that will keep your finger tips on the corner edge of the page, ready to turn to the next. Mr. Baisden's characters were very real and the storyline is written in such a way as to command your attention chapter after chapter.Readers, get ready to pass this one on to all your friends and your friends' friend!
Rating: Summary: Enjoyable, and a fast read, but.. Review: I enjoyed MEN CRY IN THE DARK much more. It just seems this book was floundering with no real deep storyline. It seems as if each person's story could have been told in a short story and the book could have just been 4 short stories. The characters overlapped but they were so loosely tied together, they could have been sucessful in their own story.Just as in Men Cry In the Dark. You just know there is a man out there just like the ones he describes just like there are women out there like he describes, and there is no need to be mad cause, HE AIN'T TALKING ABOUT YOU UNLESS ITS YOU.
Rating: Summary: Keep them coming..you get better with each novel. Review: Michael, you are right on the money with this novel. You write about real issues that men and women deal with each day. After reading some of the reviews it appears that you touched some peoples toes but never the less I'm still one of your biggest fans. This novel was easy to read and full of drama. Be Blessed!
Rating: Summary: Thoroughly Entertaining Review: I really enjoyed this book. It was my first book that I'd read by Michael Baisden and I was really impressed. It was very realistic, and an extremely quick read. Great job!
Rating: Summary: A Real Page Turner! Review: Michael has done it again! I loved this book. I could not put it down. I loved both of his other books, but this one is his best so far. I think the characters in this book were more interesting and more developed than the ones in MCITD. I had been looking forward to reading TMM for a couple of months now, but I was too busy with work and school to do any reading for pleasure. I had some time this weekend, so I sat down to read it and was done in one day. I was most impressed with the ending. I was happy to see a happy ending after what happened to Derrick and Angela at the end of MCITD. I was disappointed that there was no closure to the story of Ariel and Chris. But overall, it was a very good book, and Michael's growth as a writer shows. Hurry up and finish your next book, Michael!
Rating: Summary: For Those Who Live For Drama Review: Once again Michael Baisden has went where some authors are afraid to go. He writes the real deal and keeps it real. A lot of people seem to be upset about this book. Could it be that some of the issues hit a little too close to home? All I have to say is that the book is good and it kept my attention and personally I can't wait for the next book.
Rating: Summary: Okay but nothing more. Review: I've read this novel by M. Baisden. This book should have been 4 or 5 stars but it seems the author injected too much of his own personal conflicts into what could have been a great book. I know too many wonderful examples of Black men and women, young and old, poor and well-to-do, for this book's themes to rate 4 and 5 stars in my review. Obviously Baisden has some unresolved issues in his life which is why he writes books like this for profit and attention. I also don't think most of Baisden's 5-star reveiws are fake. We all know that there is at least one women for every type of man, including the Baisden-types. EVERY FOOL HAS, AT LEAST, A MOTHER AND A WANNA-BE-LOVER. Also, I've attended one of Baisden's personal appearances. Believe me, no matter how derogatory, rude or arrogant Baisden can be towards them, most of his young Black females fans truly worship Baisden like he is some sort of "Messiah of Relationships." All I can say is that I will not be purchasing anymore of Baisden's work nor will I support him financially or emotionally on any of his projects. In writing, on TV & radio, and in person, I can find far more positive Black men in leadership positions to be inspired by.
Rating: Summary: A VERY EASY READ Review: THIS WAS MY FIRST MICHAEL BAISDEN BOOK TO READ. I ENJOYED THIS BOOK. THE ONLY REAL PROBLEM I HAD WAS WITH TEDDY BEAR HE REALLY TOOK AWAY FROM THE STORY. I ALSO WISH WE COULD OF FOUND OUT WHAT HAPPENED WITH AEIRAL. FOR THE MOST PART I ENJOYED THIS BOOK AND IT WAS REALLY EASY TO READ.
Rating: Summary: Great Book! Review: Yes, I give this book five BIG stars, exclaimation points and all. Trust me, this is not a 'Milli Vanilli' review. Michael, the story was really good. I had intended to read it over the weekend I bought it, but ended up finishing it before heading to the gym the morning after I purchased it. The characters had some serious issues, but at least you showed the downside to their behavior, and how they went about correcting themselves. Too bad for Teddy, though. As far as Michael's stories taking on an evil of their own, the evil existed long before this book or any of us did. You can't fault the author for society not taking responsibility for what goes on at home, which is where it really begins. Thanks for the story, Michael, and it was good to see you back home in Chicago. Looking forward to your next book.
Rating: Summary: This book is so passionate, so believeable, so true! Review: This is definitely one of Michael's best! Just like in "Men Cry in the Dark", he poured his heart and soul into this one! Despite the annoying grammatical errors, this one is destined for the best seller list! Michael's art of writing is truly a blessing!
