Summary: Much Better Than I Thought It Would Be!
Review: After reading "Men Cry In The Dark", which I absolutely HATED, I said I'd never buy another book by this author. However, since a lot of my friends enjoyed "Maintenance Man", I went to the library to get my hands on a copy of it. Well, I will admit to being PLEASANTLY surprised that this book was MUCH, MUCH better than his last one! I don't put this book in the "deep" or "thought provoking" category but, his light, fast paced book will admittedly keep you turning the pages. I actually thought the ending was pretty good too except I thought Ariel's character could have used another chapter or a better ending. If I had to make one overall complaint about the book, I think Michael needs to learn to make his characters a little more distinct or put the character's name at the beginning of the chapter so you know who you're reading about. A few times I thought I was reading one character and I was really reading about another one. With that said, Michael Baisden fans are sure to enjoy this book and even non-Michael Baisden fans (myself, for instance) will not even have much to complain about!

Summary: Maintenance Man
Review: I have just completed Maintenance Man and loved it. The characters Malcolm and Simon were pretty decent guys, but had to have some bad experiences before allowing their good qualities to surface. Michael Baisden did an excellent job of keeping the reader interested. I would highly recommend this book. It is one that you will find hard to put down once you have begun reading it.

Summary: The Maintenance Man:It's Midnight, Do You Know Where Your Wo
Review: This book is good from beginning to end. Baisden topped "Men Cry in the Dark" with this one!

It's a must read and would make a great movie! The characters are well developed and intriguing. The action is continuous. The climax and ending are written so well you'll close the book with a smile...

Summary: What is the hype about?
Review: I read lots of fiction and some fact and this was really not good to me at all. The only likeable character that was not really devloped was Ariel. The novel read like a black Harold Robbins novel of the 70's. The authors arrogant shows so much in his writing. I gave it two stars because I feel anyone who attempts to write should get a star and the character Ariel is why the other novel. I don't like judging anything but perhaps this may be of help to the author who may read this for the next book.

Summary: Not great
Review: Although I'd already read "Men Cry in the Dark" andwas plenty disappointed, I like to support... authors... The authorwas there participating on a literary panel with Omar Tyree and one other author whose name I can't remember. Michael Baisden is charismatic and an engaging public speaker, but his fiction leaves much to be desired.

Baisden has an interesting perspective, but his character development is flat, and the dialogue seems rather fake and trite. There is not one single person to like in this book. Malcolm is a gigolo, Simon is a wimp, Ariel is neurotic and desperate, and Teddy is utterly despicable. Toni is fairly decent, but she's not a major character.

Also, I find it completely unlikely that Malcolm was able to keep his cover for so long. As long as he'd been tricking, it seems like more folks would have known.

Summary: Drama Galore
Review: This book came recommended to me by a friend and I was hesitant to pick it up. It was only when I had the chance to speak to the author that I HAD to buy this book. Overall, I can say I enjoyed the book and the drama which occured throughout it. I just think the story line flowed very well, but the ending was just thrown together. Ariel and Malcome's future is left kind of blurry. The Simon/Cynthia episode was closed poorly and unrealistically. Theodore ("Teddy Bear") got what he well deserved, but some reason his cockiness reminded me so much of the authors, but anyway....I thought this was an interesting read and anticipate his next release.
